Chapter 53 - SHOCKING TIDINGS III

WICCIAN POV:

I received the memo in the meeting of my council.

I was very furious at Rachel's incompetence. I felt like discarding her but she was the key to overcoming my mom and sisters. I couldn't end the illusion now that I was a strone-throw from my goal.

Besides, she keeps me well satisfied.

Someone was attending to the supposed survivors, including her.

She soon saw me coming.

"My love!".

I grunted a reply with disgust.

"What happened to the pureblood?".

"Really? That's the first question to ask? What about me?".

"You are in my care, so you are safe, dear".

She seemed to agree with my logic.

"What a pushover!" I grunted with disgust.

"He escaped because of Xeriphox!".

"What about the blood I need? What do we do then?".

She brought out a vial containing the item I required.

"Not so dumb after all!".

"What?!".

I smiled at her and winked lecherously.

She covered her face like a high school girl.

"We'll do something about your lieutenants" I added.

LATER THAT DAY

WICCIAN POV:

I drew the last sign on the wall.

I looked to my underlings and nodded.

They activated the temperature regulator to about -15°C.

I ran to the middle of the room and began chanting the spells from the book.

Soon, I started to levitate. I continued chanting until I lost control of myself.

**************

I was in a vast space, void of anything. I wasn't surprised because this wasn't my first time.

Soon, a huge figure behind me cast a shadow.

"Khaos, how nice to see you again!".

"Who do you seek?".

"Still doesn't reply pleasantries".

"Don't waste my time, and yours!".

"Him!".

I offered the vial to him.

He drank it quickly.

"Let's get this over with!".

He grabbed my hand. Soon, we zoomed via the continuum, past the void.

We stopped at a specific location.

"What's happening here?".

"Who you seek is a power not to mess with. This is where I stop. Goodbye!".

"But, it's....?".

He turned to dust and disappeared.

I looked ahead of me and saw a great statue. It had cracks all over it.

I tried to get close to it, but I was resisted by a force.

The statue had a deadly aura around it.

Soon, the cracks intensified and the statue started to break.

As the statue broke, a force shot at me powerfully.

It helped me retrace a lot of my steps.

I soon found myself groping to return to my former position.

I looked up and saw two opposite sides of power held together by a fleece of some sort. They both had weapons behind them. The darker side held an axe while the brighter side had a sword. The fleece seemed inactive but held both powers at bay. It had a different aura from others.

Soon, something started to fall from the sky with thunder and lightning.

It crashed into the ground with an earthquaking thud.

All I could see before I was swept away was akin to death itself.

It was a sword. The glimpse of the insignia on it sent fear to my marrows.

***************

I got up from the ground. The underlings quickly switched off the regulator. They opened the door and rushed to me.

Rachel started cleaning my ears and nose. I was bleeding.

"I don't like this ritual, dear. It almost killed you!".

"How long was I in there?".

She looked at the watch.

"37 minutes, 48 seconds!".

I was sweating profusely.

"We had to reduce the temperature to -75°C to keep your body from burning" Mikhail said.

"You don't have to go to hell to get intel, dear. We're here to help you! Besides Khaos is not trustworthy".

I ignored her.

"What did you see, boss?".

His question shook me like a chick drenched in the rain.

"EXCALIBUR!!!".
