THIRD-PERSON POV:
A man was seated in a rocking chair, only the behinds visible.
A girl in a huge scarf is standing behind him. She looks submissive in appearance.
"I told you to get me Wallace Peters! Is that so hard?".
"I'm sorry, master, but he is very elusive".
"He's but a child! How elusive is a teenager?".
"He disappears into thin air and doesn't return until after long. He doesn't seem to have many allies I can manipulate".
"Then, use his foes against him. Do whatever you can to get me that essence".
"But, master, you are already among the most powerful mages in the land. Why do you still need the essence?".
"In the hands of a kid, such power is reduced to a piece of bread. In mine, I can perform my duties more efficiently".
"Then make him your ally, don't you think?".
"DO YOU QUESTION ME?" he thundered.
She shuddered severely.
He breathed heavily, then held her by the shoulders.
"Qoora, they're coming. Being one of the most powerful mages isn't enough to stop them. Among all my students, I trust you the most. Please help me!".
She knelt down before him.
"I shan't fail you!".

ACE POV:
I was on top the Academy, literally. I could view the full school in landscape, with my binoculars. I could see the hidden making-outs, the nasty pranks, and all other nasty stuffs that intertwine with keeping a bunch of teenagers in one environment.
I reflected on my few days back at the Academy. The gang helped me discover some of my potential. I was so close to discovering my special abilities.
In a few days, we'll be summoning our familiars and discovering our special abilities. Then after, a gauntlet in the school will commence, splitting the school in seven.
I mused on these things as I saw a familiar figure sneaking away from the dorm.
I zoomed in and saw Xiao walking away in a suspicious fashion.
I then reflected back to the cafeteria incident.
"But he doesn't have to be sneaky about it. It's an open secret!".
"He's shy, maybe!".
As I battled inwards, I came to a compromise. I'll just follow him from above.
As I kept watching, his movements became even more suspicious. He was going to the gates. But nobody was supposed to be outside the school at such hour.
A conflict of purpose soon arose as I saw Jane moving towards the gates. They spoke for a while and parted ways. I stood confused for moments, as both were walking in opposite directions.
I decided to follow Jane, more worried about her.
*******************
She cornered into a left. She entered a big building. All I could read was 'Divars City Hospital'.
More conflict arose in me as I followed her. A thousand questions popped up on my mind.
She entered a room in the ICU as my fears heightened.
As I got to where she was, I could barely hear their discussions, despite my acute senses. I saw a boy on the bed, lifeless.
She looked very sad as the doctor spoke.
The doctor soon left the room. I hid myself so as not to be discovered.
I focused on Jane as my curiosity heightened.
I decided to confront her immediately.
I barged into the room unannounced.
"Care to explain?".
