THIRD-PERSON POV:
"Dad, why are we moving?".
A little girl of about 7 years of age sat beside her father as he frantically searched for items belonging to him.
"My little angel, Daddy's in a fix right now. I need to keep you and Mom safe from the brunt".
"What brunt? What about you?" she fathomed with her tiny mind.
"Daddy will be fine. I'll return to you when I can. Understood?".
"Yes".
He hugged her tightly.
His wife came in, looking frightened.
He released her and dragged her out of the room, out of earshot.
"Where are we to go now, George? Even the human world is ablaze with war now. The second one, this time".
"My cover is blown here. If we don't leave, we all die".
Maryam sobbed softly as he continued.
"Reliable intel says that the Death-Merchants, spearheaded by the Expunger has supplied a group of countries called the Axis high-grade ammo, courtesy of the Blood Queen. The Council is not pleased and is contemplating a befitting response to their actions. We may be facing a war as we know it".
"She wants the human world to burn. That's why she's doing all this".
"We are stuck, George. Where do we go?".
"I'm only a mercenary, Maryam. We are in enemy territory. In such case, I must return to who sent me for safety. It's the best I can do for us".
Soon, sounds of feet was heard from outside.
He pushed her behind him.
"They're already here. We are too late".
"What do we do?" she asked, panicking.
"They came for me. So I'll face them. Hide quickly".
"What...?! They'll kill you, George".
"Get Dri out of here. Hide until you feel safe. Don't come out for whatsoever reason".
"George...!".
"Go!".
The barrier protecting the house was almost broken.

GEORGE POV:
I sat comfortably on the sofa, in spite of the situation.
My mage-sword was already in hand.
The gang broke into the house. They came closer into the living room.
"Took you long enough!" I said.
"You are a diligent one, I must say. The barrier proved a bit tough to break".
"What can I say? I was taught well".
"We could use a rare Durz talent like you, George Nevarius. Join us".
"If you know me that well, you'll know that is not up for discussion".
"As you wish!".
He rushed at me. I unsheathed my sword in stylish manner and struck it in his direction.
He blocked with his katana as he was knocked a few steps.
"Nice skills you got there" he commended.
"Let's get on to it, then".
********************************
I swung the edge of my blade to parry his attack. I pushed him back with a spell. He flew back as he parried the attack.
We were both panting heavily as we proved our mettle in battle.
Aside from a few grazes, I was in sharp contrast to the other gang whose leader was bleeding lightly from multiple cuts to every limb of his body. His gang were being picked apart by Spar, my griffin.
"Give up and join us, George" he panted heavily on the syllables.
"Never" I replied in like manner.
HELA POV:
I and Mum hid in a hidden safe in the house, created by my father.
It was magic-proofed with a powerful barrier, blocking any visuals or sound seeping outside but allowing things to be visible from above or outside.
The sound of swords clanging and screeches filled the house.
Soon, a bright light shone in the room.
I returned to the vent, where the light shone from, to see better.
I saw a woman in bright red regalia. She was sort of controlling Dad. He was on his knees before her, struggling with his own body.
I could hear Spar in a fight with another creature.
"How did we get here, George?".
"When your queen decided to set the world ablaze".
"We were all wronged by the same world, George. A little payback isn't out of the picture".
"Little? A whole world of innocent humans are slaughtered daily and you call that little?".
"Let them burn, George. It'll be better that way".
"Please stop this madness before it consumes us all".
"We fight for our own, George. Wouldn't you want a safer world for your daughter?".
"Don't you dare say that!".
"Whatever you do, you can't stop her. We have the alliance of the werewolves.
Sertha's in possession of the Cursed Scrolls".
My father looked at her in strangled surprise.
He bowed his head in defeat.
"It's all over then!".
"Not for you and your family, not if you join us".
"I'd rather die than continue to help you destroy the world, Helen".
"We could have remained good allies, you know!".
"Just end it already!".
"Any last wish for old times sake?".
"Don't harm my daughter, please!".
Soon, my father was straining with all power as his blade turned towards his heart with his own hands repeatedly. The slashing sound from the fatal cuts left me gasping for breath.
He fell to the ground, face-down, resting on the sword as blood flowed profusely.
Spar let out a pained screech and hit the ground with a powerful thud.
I couldn't help but scream for my father.
My mom quickly covered my mouth.
Helen looked down swiftly at me. We had eye-contact before she covertly ignored.
"Any problems?" asked the man who fought my dad.
"No problems. Let's go give a status report to Sertha".
"What of his wife and kid?".
"They probably already left before you arrived".
As they left, their voice faded as she was scolding the man for failing to kill my dad himself.
After some time, my mom couldn't hold me down any longer. I broke free and ran to my dad. I hugged him tightly and cried uncontrollably. My mom was in her own frenzy.
I held his lifeless body tightly in a hug, hoping to bring him back.
Spar was also stone dead as one of the men generously deposited his dagger in its skull.
"Dad..., Dad..., DAD...!!!!".
