WELSHMAN POV:
I climbed the podium to respond to the press.
My security were already doing their job on the "pressing" of the press.
"Is this live?" I whispered to my secretary.
"Yes, sir".
Soon after, the instrumentals of the national anthem ended.
I straightened up and put on my most serious look.
I took a peep at the speech prepared for me.
"My good citizens of the United States, I welcome you to a new era of technology. One where medicine and technology go hand in hand.
Through the hardwork and dedication of some biotech companies and talented individuals, the reason why we are here is made possible!".
I immediately put my hand behind me. On queue, my secretary handed me a prototype.
"I introduce to you the Ultra-lens Detector! A new innovative way of free check-up! It scans your body for signs or symptoms of any and proudly, almost every disease via powerful and harmless X-rays. If any is found, your local authorities will be contacted and you'll be notified immediately".
I double checked the cliche used at the end.
"No more expensive checkups! Made possible by the Ultra-lens Detector!".
A round of applause was the only reward for my oratory.
"Mr. President, could you explain more on the origin of our latest technology, the Ultra-lens Detector?".
"All questions are to be answered on the "Innovative Today" show".
I turned away from the reporters and entered into the White House.
My personal security shielded me from the clamouring of the reporters, yelling out endless questions.
My secretary took the podium and began to address the crowd.
I walked into my office and shut the door.
I got to my seat and rubbed my temples severely, trying to clear the migraine that besieged me.
I soon tapped away at the telephone on my desk.
It was security.
"Get me Gilbert".
"Yes, Mr. President!" echoed the voice on the other line.
I dropped the call soon after.
Gilbert was the only one I trusted because I personally hired him myself.
Plus, he's my son's best friend.
He soon walked in.
"Gilbert, thanks for your services. Take this token for your personal pleasure!".
I dropped a sealed envelope on the table.
He smiled, understanding what I meant.
"Yes, Mr. President. I'll do well to use it wisely!".
AT VILLE MANOR
ACE POV:
I soon ran after Oxiagal as he charged through the walls.
I soon ran into something. I got up but found nothing. I sticked out my finger and touched the space in front of me.
It was as solid as glass.
I turned back to Rachel and her gang.
I saw a smirky grin on her face.
"I'm gonna wipe that off!" I cursed under my breath.
"You got what you want, Rachel. What else?".
"Not all, pure filth. I need the Cursed Scrolls too".
The name tingled my ears.
"You can't have that!".
"Really? Then your vampire pals will die a gruesome death at the paws of Oxiagal. Only this could control him".
She dangled a wooden flute in front of me.
Soon, I heard a loud scream.
"Father!". It was Rebecca.
"Seems you're running out of time".
My stand soon began to waver.
"Even if it still exists, I don't know where it is".
"That's where you come in, boy. I intend to find out".
"What are you going to do?".
She created a glowing light from her hand.
A voice stopped her dead in her tracks.
"I won't let you do this, Rachel".
He stepped out of the shadows.
"Merlin? What a surprise to see you!".
"Wait! You can see him?".
