Chapter 5 - Flashing Lights

Takeo closed the door after the group left. It was now only him, Tao, and Raizel— or so they thought. As they turned around, Raizel wasn't sitting on the couch anymore.

"Did he retire to his room already?" Tao asked.

"Maybe."

The two went and walked up the stairs to the balcony. There, the breeze was cold and windy. The moon was out, shining brightly. For a moment, everything was silent. That is, until Tao broke it.

"I told you didn't I?"

"What?" Takeo asked.

"Looking at Raizel-nim's eyes earlier, I know he enjoys their company. He still likes it here."

"Yeah. I just wished the boss would come back already."

"Anyway, about that thing we talked about earlier—" Tao began, however, he was cut short when he felt a vibration on his pocket.

He reached for it, and took his phone out. It was vibrating and lights were flashing from the screen. Seeing this, excitement shot through Tao's eyes. He immediately took off and went inside.

"Hey," said Takeo, surprised by his companion's actions. " What's happening?"

Takeo went inside and followed him. He found Tao inside the elevator, and caught up with him before it closed.

"Tao, what's going on?"

But Tao ignored him, as he went on to pressed the buttons that leads them down the lab while keeping his eyes on the screen. The elevator started and they moved downwards.

"Hey, Tao!" said Takeo, tapping his shoulders. "What's going on?"

"I, I don't know myself. I'm not sure, not until I confirmed it."

A little while later, the elevator doors opened, and Tao exited. Takeo followed. Tao immediately sat upon the chair before a wide screened supercomputer and began typing quickly and expertly, processing information on the screen as fast as the characters entered his eyes. He pauses every now and then to check on his phone, and on the screen were nothing but numbers and letters with somewhat incoherent order of continuity and arrangements for the average person.

Takeo however just stood behind him as he watch, understanding nothing. It didn't take a long time, and Tao stopped. A second later, a satellite map appeared on the screen. Red lines began to emerged from their initial location, circles around the map, crossing country to country, place to place. As Takeo stood there looking at it, he began to realize what he's looking at. The end of the line stopped at a single location.

"Is that Frankenstein?" He asked.

"I hope." Tao replied.

"So, he's there, huh? At least, that's what this thing tells us."

"Yeah, Paris France."

"The chances?"

"I don't know. It's still better than nothing. I'm going to prepare a plane. We should prepare as well. The fact that Frankenstein was unable to come back means danger. Get the pills, get your guns, we'll depart tomorrow before dawn." Tao said with a grim look on his face.

The two head back up, leaving the things as they are; The screen still flashing with signal.

What has happened to him? That's the question that both of them have in mind. Tomorrow, they'll found out. They hoped.
