Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

He knew that she was expecting a lot from the man. Well, the young man had prepared a whole package for her, and was in a very excellent mood to dispense with such things.

"Ava, I confess that I have dated more ladies than you can imagine, and yes, I flirted a lot as well, but then, it is none of your business because I did so. You can get angry and do whatever you want, I care the less about it," Hendrix spat out on anger.

Ava felt the heat consume her entire face, she had not expected the young man to be this blunt with her. Well, it is quite sad, and the fear that swept through her is one that had mot being expected before.

All that Ava wanted was to disappear into thin space, and with the look of things, that wouldn't happen anytime soon because she is definitely stuck with the young man. It is even more unfortunate because the young man was this arrogant to her.

She kept her eyes away from the man's own, the fear that consumed her was just so aching. At one point, she thought of crying, but then next step, she decided to break the silence by sinffing hard.

There is no prove that the young lady was crying, in fact, the fact that he just felt sick all the way just made him saynd from the chair immediately.

The moment Hendrix touched the doorknob, he held it firmly as he made his points known so fast.

"Let me check on the doctor, I want to know if your test results are out or not. Clean your eyes, Ava, the truth is sometimes always bitter to accept it," the young man said dryly, before he walked away, making sure to gently close the door behind him.

Ava felt like she had being stabbed severally behind her back, the pain that stroke through him is one that she had never experienced before.

Hendrix it the man with the largest amount and the most insolent ways that she has ever experienced before.

"Hendrix, I hate you so much, in fact, I am a fool, a very big fool, I should never have come here in the first place, and now that I have, I don't even see the reason why I should have done so in the first place," Ava spat out in a very ugly manner.

As the lady was still in thoughts when he door slightly opened and Sophie pushed into the room with a nurse behind her. When she entered, the young lady gently closed the door and left at once.

Sophie was now the only one standing by the doorway, and as she fixed the hem of the clothes, she quickly made her way to the bed where Ava was.

Ava had stopped crying, but it that not stopped the fact that she had streak of tears falling down the corners of her eyes. This is what Sophie saw as she climbed on the bed and used her free hands to wipe it off.

"Why are you crying Aunt Ava?" Sophie asked as she held her hands out and quickly wiped the tears out of her aunt's cheeks.

Ava knew that it was a weak feeling to let the child see her this week, but damn it, the feeling that consumed her is one that she didn't quite want the man to experience it, that wouldn't be a really good thing.

One thing for sure is that she wouldn't tell the child that it is her father's harsh words that hard made her to be this weak. In fact, Hendrix hadn't being good to the least, he hadn't even censored his words to the least, and whatever the case might be, she wasn't also going to act as bumbly as the man had acted, and that is the worst part about it.

Thinking about this made her chew on her lips fervently, and the moment she stopped doing so, she had already planned out something to say, and she crossed both her fingers and toes together, hoping that the child wouldn't be too inquisitive to ask make many questions that will undoubtly make her sick to the intestines.

"It is no big deal, Sophie, just a fresh pain that hit through my mind. I guess I must have hit my head quite hard while falling on the ground earlier. There can only be one explanation to this, and I guess the fact that it has to deal with me falling on the ground," Ava shot out.

She was silently grateful for the fact that Sophie had being so gracious to make her a way to even clean the tears that were on her eyes that is a very good start, and to her, the pleasure that goes along with it is enough to make her beam brigtly.

Sophie wasn't the least concerned about these things, and the fact that her heartbeat was just enough to make Ava know that things aren't even better, all she did was to shake her head in silence as she ignorantly let the words slip out of her mouth.

"Is it daddy that made you cry, Aunt Ava?" the young child spat out and the fear that swept through Ava at the sound of the question made her freeze immediately.

Ava was now frozen on the hospital bed, she could not even support another disappointment from the child.

Holy fuck, their is nothing as bad as this way she is feeling right now, the whole thing is way she keeps her eyes on Sophie's own.

"Hell no! Sophie, it is not your daddy who is causing me to be crying. In fact, it is my head, like I said, I have a deep headache, it is but chronic, and if I do not rest, it might grow worse. Hope you don't mind, Sophie, I might not be talking too much, it might add my misery," she lied openly.
