Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Ava worried about Sophie, she didn't want the child to hate her father over trivial issues, especially when she practically found no cause doing so. Taking a very deep breath, she decided to lead it to slip out of her mouth as that was important.

At once, the door slipped open and a doctor walked into the ward, he was swiftly followed by a young man behind him, and that was Hendrix, in fact, there was no arguing on that point. It made her want to jump with excitement, but on second thought, she decided to let it go because it is not worth it at all, of course not.

"Ms. Andrews," the doctor's sullen face came in.

Although Ava had the intentions of talking, all she did was to bite her lower lip as If denying the fact that she was being addressed to.

When no reply from her side was taken, the doctor continued, giving the message he wanted to pass by.

"The results of the ultra sound are here," the doctor said.

At once, it made the young lady be very attentive as she waited for the doctor to tell her what the matter is.

"Is my aunty going to die?" Sophie's question popped in.

Ava gasped.

Hendrix groaned.

And the doctor, he chuckled, but then, when he hardened his expressions, he walked over to the child assuring as much as he can.

"No, little one, your aunty is on the safe sides. Just that we need to constantly keep an eye on her, considering the fact that she hit her head in particular, and if she is not checked constantly, might lead to a case that I fear may be considered dangerous, well, as much as we might say it," the doctor said.

At the mention of these words, all that mattered to Ava at the moment was her health. She couldn't nod her head because the pain that shot through her was undoubtedly aching, more to that, Ava doubted If the doctor's words weren't as a result of what she had quarreled with Hendrix about the fact that she doesn't want to leave, maybe this was just a farce and the very first step to it. Thinking about it made the lady crease her forehead so much that it hurts.

"I don't think that I will stay in this town for a long time, doctor, because very soon I will be leaving back to my hometown," the young lady blurted out in a disturbed voice.

There is nothing much to say right now, and the effect of it is that Hendrix's face behind the doctor's own became as hard as the word itself.

Hendrix knows deep in him that he can't be able to take care of his daughter Sophie on his own, that is why he is setting his ground with Doctor Mike to make his plans go on so well as he had planned them.

Well, that is quite loud, but then, if his plans don't work as planned, but then, there isn't much of a thing he can do.

He doesn't know the supplies a child need, if she is going to school or not everything is just so troubled that Mike is the only chance he has gotten right now.

Hendrix knows that things would be so stressed out, but then, he just wants it to be a success.

Ava seemed to have noticed it, but whatever the case might be, all she wants is to go home as she had already said it. That is super essential, as she had known it to be like this.

"Doctor, can I leave the moment I am discharged?" Ava's voice filled in the room.

She truly looked sad and the effect of it caused Hendrix to scold at himself. He is the author of this whole mischief, and instead of leaving it at this point, he only wants to hurt the lady more and more.

It is quite sad that such a thing has happened to him, but then, thinking about the fact that even knowing anything about these people makes her feel sad, so much that it hurts.

Staring at Mike for help, Hendrix was glad when the doctor chipped a good word for the lady to stay.

"I am afraid to say no, but then Ms. Andrews, you would need to be under my supervision, come for medical checks at least twice a week, and for all these to happen, you have to be on town," the doctor spat out daringly.

Ava knew she had been pushed to the wall so fast, there isn't much of a thing she can do, thus all she did was to stay calm, very very calm that it might make her go in Sane in case she tampers to do anything rough.

Good enough for her, the young lady was ready to make a difference now, that is cool because they were in a very difficult situation, and there is nothing much of a deal.

The doctor gave the lady the test results, and she looked at it for a while. As she held the results in her hands, she flipped the several pages that wherein it.

It is kind of awkward that she couldn't consider a thing of what the man had said.

"When can I leave the hospital?" Ava asked.

"When the papers have been signed, and the bills cleared out," the doctor said.

Ava saw the heat crawl up in her face, it made her want to pass out from the pressure that was slowly developing.

As the doctor said this, she decided to avoid the man's attention by letting it slip away.

Noticing that the man was away, all she did was to burst out the words that had started running through her mind.

"Get down, Sophie, we should clear the bills and find a place to sleep," Ava said as she avoided the man's attention.

It is true that she is kind of scared of the things going through her mind.
