Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

Hendrix knew that Ava had had these things to say about him for quite some time and now was only the time to talk about it. Well, she must be proud of herself for what she did because it is quite sick in the head that things don't really make him shake his head in dismay.

Instead of having a battle splash with Ava, the young man swirled his head to his daughter's side and as he glared at the child, Hendrix let the words slip out of his mouth.

"Sophie, let us go outside and settle the bills, I think your aunt Ava needs some time to catch her breathe," Hendrix's words came out in a very sophisticated manner.

The truth is that Ava felt kike Hendrix was now trying to get back at her by just pushing her aside and talking to his daughter. It is quite unfortunate that her niece was so in a mood that made everything sink in a desolate way.

"Sophie, don't follow the stranger," Ava said.

Well, she had used the appropriate term, but then, was Hendrix a stranger to the child? of course not, during their ride to the hospital, the man had built himself a solid relationship with Sophie, and he was proud of himself that he could bond with the child so well.

Hendrix was now angry that the lady called him a stranger and he reprimanded her immediately.

"Don't call me a stranger in front of the child, and lower the tune of your voice, madam," Hendrix spat out.

He was damn serious about what he just said, and as he gave Ava that sullen gaze, he couldn't help but stare at him intently.

Ava was loving this and she couldn't wait to have every fiber of the man's lungs screaming for help, in fact, she wanted it so much that It hurts.

"I would call you a stranger, what would you do? let a car knock me ad it had done before? please, excuse me, Hendrix, I've met a lot of serious niggas in my life before to hang it all on your head. So brush aside let me pass," Ava spat out.

She was being arrogant, and not only that but insolent as well. The young man couldn't believe the fact that a nobody like Ava would stand in front of him and talk to him like nothing was the matter. That sulks a lot, more than he can gather the courage to let it known and as he grit his teeth together, all he did was to take a step behind, away from this do annoying lady.

Hendrix knew that Ava was just trying to step on his last nerve, and he wasn't all the same bothered at all because if such a thing should happen, then, Ava should be prepared of making a super grand entrance, and something mighty that would actually catch his attention at every corner of the game.

There isn't much of a thing to talk about these days, and the more he had his eyes glued on Ava's figures, he just brushed his head aside as he carried his daughter in his arms diverting his attention from her aunty.

"Come here, baby bear, I hope you don't mind accompanying me to the teller's table so that I can pay for your aunty's hospital bills," Hendrix said as he brought the child close to himself.

Sophie smelled sweet, more like rose, or more, from her baby cologne. Well, whatever that was, she had a very exquisite beauty, and the smell that goes along with it is one that she has never seen in her entire life.

The anger that bubbled in Ava's mind is one that traumatized him a lot. The fear that caught up with her is one that sent chills down her spine, that was dumb, but then, whatever the case might be, she ended up holding her anger and suppressing it, fighting as much to be under control. That was necessary, in fact, so important that it should quite make a lot of sense by now.

"Keep the child down, Hendrix," Ava said in a very disrespectful manner.

She was simply trying to intimidate you man, but then it didn't kind of make any sense right now because the man might even try to do something really silly.

"If I don't, what will you do to me? beat me, or further humiliate me? I am ready for it, Ava, do your worse," Hendrix blurted out.

This is the worst thing that can ever happen to Ava, and as she opened her mouth to talk, she quickly closed her mouth in anticipation as the feat that groomed her is one that had never been felt before.

Ava had never seen a man as blunt as Hendrix, he couldn't even keep his large mouth close. The lady knew pretty well that there was no point arguing, this, instead of starting a fight that might be too difficult for her to continue, all she did was to shut the heavenly fuck up.

Hendrix was now traumatized, she feared that everything entitled to her would go along with Sophie, the child had been her solace for all these years, the reason why she had to fight this hard.

Ava knew that the child did not belong to her, considering the fact that she has a very big and influential father. It, therefore, falls on two things, to either make peace with Hendrix and leave close to her niece or make something out of herself and life.

It will be a very difficult time passing through a stage of her life without the child she has become so fond of over the years, but then, even at that, Ava can't do otherwise, and she knows about that.

The silence was now imminent, and Hendrix decided to break the silence by pushing forth his words in a very frightful manner. It might have been a little harsh, but he didn't care.
