All that matters to him right now is to make out things in a silent way. It made him sick to the head that all these things are actually taking place.
"Alright, Ava, we will be at the table paying off your bills. You can either choose to join us there or wait for us outside, we will be there shortly," Hendrix said.
The truth is that Ava had only a bandage around her head, and Hendrix could help her do anything she wants, that is necessary, and they all know about it.
Ava wasn't in any shape of following the man around as if she was some sort of dog or whatever object he might want to classify her under. That would not make any sense at all, and the moment she thinks about this, all that was left to do is to open her mouth and lead out the words she had programmed in her mind slip out already.
"I will be waiting for you both outside," her muffled voice came in.
It is kind of weird considering the fact that she had said that, but then, Ava kept her eyes on the young man's own, that is necessary, especially when she wanted to show her authority and stick to the words she had just said.
Whatever that feeling might be, the young lady finally tried her best, focusing on Hendrix's back as he quickly turned around, walking away, just like that, without a word from her.
Hendrix knew when not to push a discussion any further. Ava was in no mood no talk to him, in fact, she was having a mood and the least he can do for her is to make her feel like a nobody.
Well, that is it, the fact that there isn't much of a thing to consider, and the moment she tried focusing her ideas on the events that had rolled out in front of he eyes just now, it made Ava have a typical headache. Her head troubled her so much that she had to stabilize herself by returning to the bed she had previously been occupying as that is essential, more than can ever be practiced upon.
As Hendrix walked away from the desk in which he had to clear Ava's file away, he bought the necessary things that had been prescribed by the doctor as that was important.
Hendrix made sure that extra band-aids were placed in the bag, as well as all the eau de cologne that was necessary for the cleaning of the lady's wounds to avoid infections.
That is literally going to be sick, but then, he doesn't really care, he just wanted to be nice, at least, for the fact that she just wanted to be sick in the whole deal.
He had placed Sophie to walk, and the child's little shoes on the marbled floor made a sound that was screeching.
It wasn't the best, but her tiny feet made him know that he had a daughter, and her presence was so warming to an extend that he shook his head so much, not wanting it to reflect his mood right now.
"Daddy, do you think you and Aunt Ava will have a good relationship together? I am worried about you both already," Sophie's tiny voice came in a suitable way.
As a child, Sophie was very observant, to the point that it sulks so badly, and most of all, the fact that she spoke of all the things she saw made Hendrix a little bothered. Not in the wrong way though, but in a good way.
Hendrix was now at a confusing point, but since Sophie was his daughter and he saw the vulnerability that was painted across her face, the young man decided to use it to his advantage and although it was so damn wrong, all he did was to brush the bad thought aside. All he wanted right now was to be a little pushy, you force the right words from the child's mouth.
"Does Aunt Ava has a husband like is she married?" Hendrix's little voice came in.
They had just left the teller's office, and all bills had been cleared out. They were in a strategic place where apart from staff and other people who try to come in there to pay their hospital bills as well, Hendrix was certain that it was a little private, or more, in an enclosed part whereby their conversation is quite saved from the outreach of Ava's ears, and even if she wants to appear here, there is quite a long corridor that she will need to walk by, and in so doing, he will see her coming and at once, would silence the child from talking as that was super important.
Staring at Sophie, the young lady was now ready to spill out her guts out, especially with the manner in which Hendrix had humbled himself in front of the child, she felt more comfortable.
"My Aunt Ava doesn't have a husband or boyfriend. All she has got is me, that is why she sacrifices everything she has to make me happy. I remember that the day before we left our hometown, I heard her crying throughout the night, and talking over the phone about how she had sold everything in her shop, in order to sponsor our trip to this place. She has a big heart, and I would wish to be like her when I grow old. Aunt Ava has promised me that I would become a better version of herself, thus, that is why she is doing this for me now," Sophie's words came out of her mouth.
As these words penetrated Hendrix's ears, he felt like a typical fool that he has been. He has been nothing but unceremonious to Ava without knowing her past, and also the thick and thin she had done to come all the way here.
Hendrix felt the pain pinch through his entire body, and at once, he knows that he has to make it up to her.
