Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

The doctor did not say anything instead, the moment he opened his mouth to talk, he had something going on when a lady called him, that was a good idea for him to excuse himself.

"Excuse me, Mr. White, I would get back to you in a bit," the young man said as he walked away nodding his head to the lady at the back.

Hendrix, didn't know what to think about, and the feeling that went through him was truncated when a soft feeling overwhelmed him, and little hands touched him which made him turn with alertness and as he saw the child's face brighten up as she said,

"Daddy, what happened to Aunt Ava?" Sophie's words came in.

She was still sitting on the chair but now had stopped crying when she felt her dad's presence.

Hendrix felt himself go silent, and as she found the voice to finally talk, he let the words slip out of his mouth as easily as they had seemed to appear.

The young man suddenly held the child in his hands and sweetly tightened his grip around the child.

"Sophie, darling, your aunt Ava, is fine, let us wait for the doctor and be sure of what he has to say," came his reply.

Sophie didn't quite know what to say, thus, she kept calm and patiently waited for the doctor. About five minutes later, the doctor excused himself once more from the last he had been busily talking with, as he made his way towards Hendrix's side of the room once more.

The young man felt his heartbeat accelerating, but he didn't say anything, just clenched his jawbones as he waited for the man to finally show up there.

Clearing his throat, the doctor decided to make things clear for him.

"Mr. White, I want you to know that the lady in question needs a lot of attention, and only the results from the test would prove us either right or wrong. I can not say much for now, thus, we will have to wait," he said.

Hendrix sulked on him to breathe as he digested every bit of the information that had been said to him. It wasn't an easy thing and the feeling that swept through him just made it a little difficult to maintain his emotions.

He might not have sustained his mind on one thing, but the manner in which he kept his mind away from this sort of thing was kind of awkward, and the more he continued to make amendments in his mind, he finally found the suitable words to speak out.

Staring at the doctor in disbelief, he found the voice to speak out, asking the question that taunted his mind.

"Can we see her?" he demanded faintly as he eyed the doctor, hoping to hear something positive.

"I guess the scan would be done by now, so, yes," the doctor said to himself.

He is a very young staff, and the outer part of his body truly looked young, and the outer feeling of the whole thing Is one that they hadn't expected before.

Hendrix kept his eyes on the man's features as he patiently waited for him to lead the way.

The doctor's stethoscope danced lazily around his neck, and that was quite funny, but damn it, he looked hot and sexy all the same, thinking about that, the young man glared at the doctor as if he was trying to decide her something out of him.

Leading the way, Hendrix held on to his daughter as if he was trying to usurp some life from her, or more, give her some of his energy.

The doctor finally entered a room that was located at the rear ends of the hospital, and inside the smell of drugs hit the young man hard as if it was something really bad. Actually, it wasn't, just that the feeling of being in such rooms isn't even worth it.

Lifting his head slightly up, Hendrix caught sight of a figure laying on the bed, and she quickly identified who that was__ Ava.

She hadn't noticed that people had entered the room because her attention was on the other side of the room, staring at the blank wall.

Ava had so much pain in her head, and the more she kept wondering on how Sophie is doing, coping with her father, she felt like her head would explode trying to come out with several thoughts running through her mind.

When the sound of the door creaked open, she didn't want to look towards that area because she proudly knew who it was, the boring doctor or its nurses.

That was literally sick, and the most important part of it is that the feeling goes on and on and she can't even consider anything that goes on just then.

It is only when the doors closed and she heard a familiar voice before she swirled her head towards it.

"Ava?" Hendrix's voice came in.

Ava was glued to the be at first, but then, the thought of recognizing that voice couldn't help her with the fact that she had to suddenly search for the voice that had called her so that she could proudly capture the man's face with his own.

That was weird, but damn, as Ava kept her eyes glued to Hendrix's own, she couldn't believe that she was actually seeing him as being extremely handsome.

Ava had been in search of some company for so long that having one right now didn't really matter, what does was the slight and sullen look she had in her eyes.

Well, her attention was diverted when a smaller voice drew her attention to herself.

"Aunt Ava," Sophie's voice came in through as she begged Hendrix to put her down so she could walk to her aunty's side.

Ava had tears and almost wanted to shed them, but blinking severally, she said, "Oh Sophie, how are you doing?" her voice came in pressed to the extend that she had to sniff hard from stopping herself from breathing this hard.
