Chapter 9 - 9 THE ACCIDENT

It was a beautiful Wednesday and Jack was already in the working shop with his colleagues, Charles and Richard were also in the shop.

Mr. Roland was not yet in the shop, so he asked them to couple up some wardrobes that he has already started working on.

All of them were seriously working and no one was lazy with his work. The work was so tough though, but that was their only savior to plan the future. All their attention was on the work. They were not experts at it, but they were trying their best to couple up the ones they could do before their Boss would come back to complete it.

Everything was going smoothly until Jack decided to plug his phone into charge. There was a diesel gallon close to the socket. But because Jack was so curious and determined to finish what he was doing before his boss would come back, Jack didn't bother to shift the diesel gallon. He went ahead to plug his phone because he was rushing to go back and continue with his recent work. Jack quickly plugged the phone charger into the socket, which caused the socket to explode. The diesel quickly reacted to the sparkling of the socket. Out of fear, Richard almost screwed his hand with a screwing machine.

On seeing the fire explosion, Jack, Charles, and Richard immediately ran out of the workshop. The fire spread so quickly in the shop like News. The fire service company was contacted, but before they could make it to the shop, it was already burned to ashes.

Jack, Charles, and Richard were bitterly crying and sobbing tears because they knew that they were already in trouble, but it wasn't intentional. There was nothing anyone could do to stop the fire. The fire was burning the shop in their very eyes, and they were looking helpless. Before the fire service could come, nothing was demanding rescue in the shop because everything has melting within seconds. People were gathered around the shop, and some were making videos, some were trying to look for a way to help, but there was no alternative to quench the fury fire. Mr. Roland was contacted.

When Mr. Roland came to the shop, he almost broke into tears when he saw his shop on fire. Mr. Roland grew angry, and he called his three boys, Charles, Jack, and Richard. He asked them what exactly happened in the shop and Jack explained everything to him. But because Mr. Roland doesn't have any financial income which means he was also a poor man who just started the interior business, trying to survive, and carter for his family. A business he has been managing for two has been burned to ashes in just a tingle of an eye. What will he do to regain all these things back was his main problem?

Mr. Roland stood speechless, staring at the three boys, who were also looking helpless. Mr. Roland told Jack that he must pay for everything in the shop. Jack saw this coming, but how to solve it was the problem. Mr. Roland was demanding the sum of $1 million. Jack begged for forgiveness, but Mr. Roland was not ready to listen to him. He asked Jack to pay it before the weekend, or he would go to jail.

Jack was so scared when he heard 'jail.

Mr. Roland informed Jack's father of what happened and what he would need to do to settle the issue on the ground.

Jack cried his eyes out. His father took the excuse from his working place and decided to come and take a good look at what happened. Mr. John was so shocked to see how the shop was nowhere to be found as everything had turned to ashes.

Jack couldn't even go close to his father when he saw him.

Mr. John began to calculate how he will get such a huge amount of money from. The only best option he was able to come up with was to sell his small house, to see if he can be able to provide the money. Mr. John didn't think of where he and his family would lay their head after selling the house.

Jessica was so touched when she saw Jack moaning, but she sighted him from her shop, so she decided to move closer to him. When Jessica was about to approach Jack, she stood in her track. She wanted to avoid approaching him in this condition because he might be furious and worried at the moment. Maybe he would rather not talk to anyone for now until he has calmed down. Jessica decided to meet Charles to ask him how it happened.

When Kate woke up this morning, she felt like going to Jessica's to tell her about Jack, her new crush, instead of telling her on the phone. Kate summoned the courage to tell her dad that she was going to Jessica's shop, and he agreed to let her go, but she shouldn't forget that she was going with some security guard.

Out of excitement, Kate called Jack to know his well-being.

Jack's phone was ringing, but he wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. Jack didn't pick the first and second call until the third one.

"Hello, Kate," his low voice echoed on the phone.

"Hey, Jack. Good morning." Kate greeted.

"Good morning angel. How was your night?" Jack asked.

"It was amazing, and yours?" Kate said.

"I…" Jack wanted to tell her what he was passing through presently, but decided to remain calm. Thank God that he immediately removed his phone from the charger before the fire started.

"Are you there?" Kate's voice echoed in his ears, which made him wake up from his long thoughts.

"Yeah. I'm with you." Jack replied.

"Alright, I wanted to check on you that's why I called. And also to inform you that I am going to my friend's place and I don't know if I can send you the address so that we can meet there," Kate said.

"Actually, we have a lot of work to do today, so I don't think I can make it up to you. Maybe, some other times." Jack responded.

"No problem, as you wish," Kate said.

"Thank you for calling," Jack appreciated.

"You are welcome and bye," Kate said.

"Bye," Jack responded, and Kate hung up.

Kate got prepared and left for Kate's place. She has already told Jessica that she was coming and Jessica was expecting her.

Jack only managed to talk to her, trying to his pain. Jack was a little calm for now, but his eyes sighted the smoke coming out from the already burned shop. He felt like continuing to cry, but crying won't solve the problem unless he meets with what he was asked to.

When Jack sighted his father standing and staring at the smoke, he knew that his father was confused about what to do because the money is so huge to get within a few days.

On the other side, Charles and Richard sat speechlessly. Not knowing what to do or say.
