Chapter 22 - Shin Suri?

"Shin Suri, Shin Suri. Jagi, she was bitten by the poisonous spider. Quickly, carry her, we need to get out of here".

On their way, Joo Ah plucked a few medicinal leaves so she could treat Shin Suri as soon as possible. Luckily for them, when they got to the river, she was still breathing though it had become really weak at least she was still alive.

Joo Ah placed Shin Suri on Jagi's leg making her lie face up and then she started pouring the herb she grinding on a nearby rock into her mouth. Soon enough, Shin Suri began coughing out some really black substances. Joo Ah sighed as she was sure that the phase of danger had passed them by for now.

"We need to keep going, can you carry her?"

Jagi replied by bending so Joo Ah could place Shin Suri on her back. They kept moving all night and it seems like the gods of the forest were on their side, they had no encounters and rain didn't fall either.

It was already the break of dawn and they had covered more than half of the journey overnight. This made them extremely tired and weak. Joo Ah and Jagi were still pretty injured from the lions' attack and they were already very hungry if they continued like this, they would definitely die of exhaustion.

Shin Suri on the other hand was already awake a while ago but pretended to still be out because she was enjoying the tiger's back.

They walked for a few more hours before Shin Suri finally tapped Jagi and came down from her back.

"Let's rest here for a while. I haven't seen any wild animals for some time now which means we are already out of the wild right?"

I noticed they were both really exhausted, normally I wouldn't care but I guess this is what you get when you switch souls. For some reason, I was feeling sympathy for them and even though I was trying really hard to ignore the feeling, I just couldn't anymore.

Joo Ah and Jagi looked at Shin Suri like they were about to break her into two.

"How would you know there were no wild animals? I thought you passed out".

At this moment, I knew I had been caught red handed. Aishh this is what happens when you try to play hero.

"Ahhhh, yes I passed out but when I woke up, I was really weak so I just kept observing till I could move again. Mmm that's what happened".

They both nodded their head and it seems they actually believed me. Hehehe advantage of knowing how to lie 101.

We made a camp after Joo Ah said it was safe here. After resting for a while, Joo Ah said we should look for something to eat so I went with her since the big tiger had slept off.

We got some little animals. Since we weren't in the wild anymore, the only dangerous animal here was snakes but I was scared of everything we came across.

We eat to our fill and continued our journey. The first half was pretty fast because Joo Ah and Jagi ran most of the distance. They were trying to leave the wild on time and find refuge before it gets dark again and they were able to do just that.

The second half on the other hand was pretty long. Joo Ah was already very tired and I felt she would pass out anytime from now. After we rested in the woods, we had already spent two more days without any signs of finding the residential areas. I noticed Joo Ah's black eye and Jagi's reduced strength. I knew we had to rest for the night. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't know exactly where and how they would be able to rest.

"Joo Ah!!!" When I was already getting discouraged, I looked up and I actually saw a house. I could see a house. I was really excited so I screamed her name without thinking.

"What is it? Did you see anything scary?"

I didn't speak, I simply pointed toward the house and we both looked at each other with smiles on our faces like we were just saved from the destruction of the world.

"Let's check it out, we should be able to spend the night here". Just then, Jagi held my cloth with her teeth, and then she growled lightly.

"It seems she doesn't want us to go there. Jagi, what's wrong".

The animal couldn't answer. Instead, she began walking forward.

"Jagi come on, I'm really tired. I could use some rest you know plus you guys get to rest too. You are obviously very tired".

Suddenly, Jagi stopped and turned coming in my direction.

"Ehhh Joo Ah, what is going on, did I offend her? Okay, okay, okay I'm sorry, let's keep going".

When she got to me, she suddenly began to rub her head around my belly. It was confusing but I felt like she was getting to like me a little bit more.

"I guess Jagi is beginning to like you huh, I'm jealous". And just like that, Jagi stopped and looked at Joo Ah with a pretty pitiful eyes.

"Haha I'm joking. It's okay, I like her too. I think we should follow Jagi, animals can sense things. It's best we don't go there if she doesn't want us to".

I looked back at the house and for some reason, it looked really familiar.

We kept moving and we finally came out of the woods, but when we came out, it was pretty surprising that we were already in the main city. I personally thought it would still take us about two more days.

"Good girl hehe". Joo Ah said while patting Jagi's head. But Jagi was drawing back and it was obvious she was scared of the busy road. I went towards her since I was pretty comfortable around her now and said.

"Hey, we'll take you somewhere you'll really like okay, just trust me. Joo Ah, stay with her I'll ask where we are and come back". She nodded and I left to ask for directions.

"Excuse me, is this City C?"

"Yep this is City C"

"Mister, I'm sorry but is your taxi still available for service?"

"Of course, where are you going?"

"Ahh actually I'm with my sister and my dog but my dog is a pretty big and she doesn't like it when people look at her. Will you be okay with that?"

I asked this question to so many taxi drivers but none of them would agree to take me. Till finally, my savior came over.

"Shin Suri?" When I turned to look at who it was, there he was, it was Kay. Lu Jinho's friend.

"Kay? Hi ahhh I'm so glad you saw me".

"I thought you were dead".
