Chapter 19 - I do the killing

I tried standing up but I felt a sharp pain in my back. I didn't notice it before even though I was literally lying on my back but when I tried standing, it hurt so much I had to lay back down. Yet I guess it had taken its course because I couldn't lie comfortably anymore.

The strange lady helped me sit up and though I was still feeling some pain, it was better than laying down. I didn't know the lady neither did I know where I was. The last thing I remember was trying to escape and getting shot.

"Where am I? Who are you?"

She simply smiled and I have to admit she looked extremely beautiful when she smiles.

"I saw you when I went out hunting, apparently, you were supposed to be a very delicious meal for a hyena".

I couldn't believe what I just heard. I looked at her so sharply while accessing her and thinking in my head.

'Am I in the jungle? Judging by her outfit, she might be a cannibal who likes eating humans alive. Aish I'm too weak how do I leave this place'.

Just then, a big white tiger came into the cave, and as soon as it saw me, it charged toward me without hesitation.

"Wow wow wow, stoooop!!!" I said and immediately shut my eye while using my hands to block any upcoming attacks hah as if that could help.

"Jagi stop". I opened my eye after a few minutes when I noticed I wasn't dead yet. When I opened my eye, I saw the lady petting the tiger. She was actually touching it. I personally do not believe something like that could ever be normal, plus the teeth of that thing gosh.

"I apologize for how my pet startled you. Hi I'm Joo Ah and this is my home. You shouldn't go anywhere until you are fully recovered, the forest isn't so friendly".

"I don't understand, there is no way a place this dangerous would be anywhere close to the city".

She was grinding something I had no idea about all I know is it looked like leaves. As soon as she heard what I said, she stopped what she was doing and looked at me.

"The city? You are a thousand miles away from civilization right now. This part of the world hardly sees humans. Though this part is not as dangerous as the deeper valleys, it's still not safe at all".

"Are you telling me that the water brought me all the way here and I didn't drown? Haa nonsense".

"I don't know how you got here but I'm sure someone brought you and dumped you close to the river so you could come here easily on your own. It's actually a miracle that you are still alive".

"What about you? Why are you here?"

She abruptly stopped what she was doing but she said nothing and she didn't even look at me. I knew there was a story behind it and me being me, I just didn't know when to stop.

"Judging by the fact that you speak properly, it's obvious you weren't born here or something like that, so why are you here".

She stood up and walked towards the entrance of her cave.

"Jagi, let's go hunting" her tiger stood up and followed her. "I'll seal the cave so nothing can come in. Don't try to come out at all. Also, inside that pot, you'll find something to eat".

After saying all that, she left and the place was pretty dark because she sealed it with a big rock. I don't know how long I stayed there but I'm a hundred percent sure it was more than a day. I was getting a fever because of my injury and I still haven't eaten anything, I couldn't eat what she left for me, it looked like poison.

After a very long while, I felt I was going to die.

'Great, Shin Suri, you just had to provoke a lady with a tiger huh, now see how you die'.

Just then, the cave opened up and the light reflected on my face. I literally swore I was on my way to heaven till I saw a white four legged animal coming towards me.

"Ahhhh!!" I fell butt first on the floor. If there was one thing I really feared, it was animals, I never even had a pet because of how scared I could get.

"Jagi, I told you not to scare her". The tiger went and curled up in a corner like it was trying to prove its innocence.

"Awwwch, my butt". She ran towards me and helped me up to the rock I was laying on.

"Are you okay?"

"No!!" she moved back startled by how I yelled at her and her knight in shining armor tiger stood up ready to pounce on me. I immediately calmed myself down.

"Why did you leave me here huh, to die?"

"If I wanted you dead, I wouldn't have wasted my time helping you don't you think? Besides it's obvious, you didn't eat what I prepared for you if not you would have been better than this already. It's not my fault that you are so stubborn".

"Haa stubborn? I didn't go out of the cave just as you asked me to so how am I stubborn?"

She looked at me as though she was looking at a fool.

"If I had asked you to leave the cave, would you have left? Fool, it's obviously not because you are obedient its because you know you'll die before you move an inch".

For a primitive creature like her, she sure had the mouth to go with it, how can she insult me so confidently.

"Lie down, I need to check your wounds. Jagi...." After calling him, she rolled her hands together and it stood up, and went to get some white-looking things. She used them to clean me up and wrap me back up. It was after this that I noticed she got a lot from hunting.

"I see you hunt pretty well, how do you kill them by yourself? I'm sure it's your tiger that does the work".

"She doesn't know how to hunt. She smells and I do the killing".
