Once Tyson returned to Loe's mansion with Chi he had them all sit down in the living area. The room was lined with a few chairs and a couch that Loe had carved from the trees. Uncomfortable for the living to rest on for too long but beautifully carved to the eye. If they had just been given some form of cushion they surely could have ran a high price for wealthy families from another world. They all sat on them listening to Tyson explain calm and quick that he was heading for the peak of the mountain. He was tired of being pulled into Numen's Garden each year to experience the same devastating event again and again before his eyes. Not being able to say the words out loud he knew that inside he could not take the vast amount of blood he had on his own hands because of the god.
"I knew it.." Fae muttered under his breath as he knew he felt Tyson hiding something from them. Not trusting the man from the start it only added fuel to the reasons he had to dislike the man. Biting his tongue back he could see the silent expression on Chi's face.
How long as he been considering doing that? Was the question that ran through Chi's mind as he slipped his hands inside his own purple jacket. His fingertips rubbing against the small textbook that Tyson had hand written about the dimension over the years. The motion was so small that nobody else could see that he had secretly stored it away inside his clothes.
Bam!
Loe smacked his own hand as hard as he could against the chair he sat in repeatedly. That glass of wine he always had on hand with him falling to the floor. Glass scattered everywhere around the room beneath him. Cold was the laughter that left him as he sat there.
"Loe?" Tyson asked because he had never seen the man act in such a manner. Wine was the last thing the man would just waste, especially his own. The poison from the wine could be seen sending smoke up into the air as it tried to eat at the floor itself that it had been spilled on.
"Tyson.. You know by saying such a thing in front of me.. I can not do nothing. If he thinks I let you off with such a crazy idea in the back of your head.. My village will fall to ruins. Are you trying to give me a reason to be the one who puts you down?!" Loe was angry yet there was still a sense of pride in what nonexistent heart he had. If he had been alive he wondered if he would have had the heart at the time to aid Tyson or if he would have been still just as fickle as he was back in the days he lived and try to do things for himself. He knew himself well enough to know how selfish a man he had been.
"No. I just thought you'd like to know you wont be getting any further visits. No matter the outcome." Tyson bluntly stated. There was no reason for him to use sweet words when they both knew there was only one way things could end for him when the time came. It was not like simply surviving against other survivors like he had over the years. There was no amount of training that could prepare him for what road was ahead of him.
Hearing the sounds of the chariot's horse from outside of Loe's mansion the three of them looked at him awaiting his response. A long silence could be heard as the man gave a faint smile. Reasons behind his look were unknown to them all but Tyson knew the man was thinking hard over something that he did not want to speak out loud.
"You've got until the chariot dissipates. Go." Loe simply said as he got to his feet and headed for the door of the mansion. Stepping outside as he gazed off into the distance at the crystals and nature all around them. His face looked cold and emotionless but even for someone who was dead he felt like he could feel a pain in his chest that he had lost the capability of long ago.
"Loe?" Tyson asked as he motioned for Chi and Fae to quickly head for the chariot. Leaving the both of them to stand side by side at the door. Neither one of them looked at each other as they stood there in silence til Loe broke it first.
"I know you want to believe you've lost everything worth living for, Tyson," Loe started as he spoke the man's name. It was something he never had done before when speaking to him directly so Tyson's attention was roped right in. "but you must remember there is still much out there for you. You must keep moving. You must keep fighting. No matter how hard it gets for you I never want to hear that you wavered. I don't want to hear the story of how you delivered yourself to death's door to simply give up."
"I'm not-" Tyson started but stopped himself from continuing. He could not pretend that he had not already accepted his fate if it came down to the worst case for him.
"Those two with you are good.. take care of the young one. Now go. I'll see you at the surface. You know I can't let you go after hearing you announce a revolt.. but I can at least give you a head start." Loe's body vanished into a cloud of black smoke and began evaporating into the air. Leaving nothing but his chariot left behind.
Climbing into the chariot Tyson knew the man was going to follow from a distance for as long as he could so that the chariot would take them out of the underground cave's tunnels. The look on the other two was one of confusion as the chariot began to move. Letting out a loud call the horse began to rush as fast as it could. Unlike when they first went to the underground the ride up was not as well kept and calm. Hitting rocks as the chariot sped through caused Fae and Chi to feel uncomfortable. Tyson knew it was to be expected though since Loe was not with them to steer the horse. It was something he had expected when he warned Loe of his plan.
Loe was bound to the Village of Lost Souls. He had a set boundary line that he could not go past. The souls in the Village were ones that he'd taken under his care. Though his freedom was limited he still had enjoyed it to an extent and took care of those souls for centuries so long that he could no longer keep track of how old his own existence was. Everything he did was monitored by Numen and by telling him honestly what Tyson had planned so that the man did not think Tyson died tragically or simply tossed him aside after ten years he had forced the man's hand.
