later that day once the school day ended Duan Cai could not be more excited to flee from the building as soon as possible. Other than the girl Shea many people had tried to make conversation with him when they could find a moment to approach him, but he kept his distance as much as possible to avoid conversing with unnecessary people. He was not interested in having contact with others from the school and felt he did not need to. His mind was set on avoiding contact with everyone there as much as possible.
As he left the school building he could see his driver at the school gate waiting for him next to a large black car. From a glance anyone could easily tell the car was not something cheap and that the man standing beside it dressed in a black suit was obviously the chauffeur waiting for his boss. The chauffeur was not just an ordinary man, however, because he was a trained cultivator of the Nirvana rank in martial arts so that he could second as a body guard if it was needed. Though that was not the only thing about the man either, unlike most chauffeurs that could be chosen the man himself was someone that Duan Cai had grown accustomed to the past few months, Leon.
Leon had been a leader of his own gang when he met him after awakening on earth, but quickly after their meeting Leon had sworn loyalty to serve as Duan Cai's right hand man. He had the talent to multitask in many areas and because of his talent the position of right hand man was easily grasped by Leon. He takes messages and chauffeurs Duan Cai around anywhere that he needs to go all while helping run the Dragon Syndicate Sect and Inferno Nexus mansion that had become Duan Cai's second home when he isn't busy pretending to be a mortal human student for the sake of his body's family.
"Is that Duan Cai walking over to a rich man's car?"
The whispers started all around the area as Duan Cai took quick steps towards Leon. He quickly opened the door for Duan Cai and closed it behind him once Cai was settled in. Listening to them all chattering and staring as Leon climbed into the car and drove off he took a quick glance in the mirror to check if his boss looked frustrated from the whispers about them, but the expression on Duan Cai's face was simply calm as if he felt nothing towards the situation at all. The thought, however, was not far off because there was nothing he felt from the situation. Having lived for over ten thousand years as a god in his old realm before coming to earth he had grown accustomed to being spoken about by vast numbers of followers under him causing him to grow vastly numb to the concept of what others might think of him.
"Do they not bother you, boss?" Leon asked as he gazed at Duan Cai in the mirror curiously as he tried to find a hint of anxiety or frustration. He almost felt like his boss was a robot at times. It was almost impossible for him to witness Duan Cai getting frustrated about anything.
"Why should they? I am not a child, Leon." His golden eyes kept pinned out the window as he sighed after the reminder that he was now in a young mortal's body came to mind.
"Whatever you say, boss.. Lester will be meeting you at Nexus tonight. I sent him word like you suggested so he should be coming over to talk to you."
"What a troublesome mortal.." Duan Cai muttered under his breath.
"Not everyone can be a dragon of the underworld, boss." Leon smirked as he thought he simply regarded his own strength highly. He was not aware of the fact that Duan Cai had once been a true immortal god, but at fallen to becoming a mortal deity on earth. The level of strength his boss held was enough to make him refrain from questioning remarks he'd make towards mortals and immortals.
"La Mia Stella.. You truly do not understand how vastly I am different." Duan Cai smiled and tilted his hat down to cover his eyes as he leaned back in his seat to relax quietly.
Leon wanted to make a remark to being called La Mia Stella by Duan Cai, but refrained himself from doing so. The reason he endured it was for two reasons and one of them was the fact that anyone Duan Cai called La Mia Stella, meaning My Star, it was because they were someone he showed signs of caring about. It did not mean that he cared a bout the person in a romantic sense, but simply that he considered them a light in his life that made his life a bit more tolerable to the sense that he valued them like a star in his dark sky of a life he had fallen to. It was someone that he had found a sense of interest in, whether it was someone he disliked or someone he liked it was purely a sense of interest in the person for him to consider them one of his stars.
The second reason that Leon would refrain from remarking back to being called La Mia Stella by Duan Cai was the most important one to him. If he had refuted the idea of being called La Mia Stella than he knew that Duan Cai would refute back by calling him his little Sparky. It was a nickname that he had taken to using against Leon whenever he felt the urge to tease him because Leon was seen as the ember mage of the underworld. His cultivation was known to cause sparks of fire whenever he cultivated or used his abilities, therefore, Duan Cai had taken the initiative to give him a joke name to use when he pleased to entertain himself. It was not that the name was because he cared about Leon, but simply for the fact that Duan Cai would get amused every time he saw the name stir up Leon because he hated the name so bad he'd grit his teeth and shiver with rage at times when the name was first brought up by Duan Cai.
As much as Leon respected his boss at times when Duan Cai used that name on him he could not help but simply think to himself how badly he wanted to punch his own boss, but that he respected him enough to bite back the urge as strongly as he could.
