Evan was rushing towards Lennox, preparing to slash his sword at him. Lennox took one look at Evan and rushed towards him in return. Evan thrust his sword towards Lennox. Lennox leaned to the side to avoid the hit. He then punched Evan in the face. Evan was sent rolling backward.
He landed on the ground and tried to wipe the blood coming from his nose. Lennox ran right up to Evan and punched him in the gut. When Evan doubled over in pain, Lennox uppercut Evan. Evan was knocked up into the air.
Lennox jumped up to continue his assault. Evan stopped time. He then spiked Lennox to the ground with his sword. Lennox crashed into the ground with a loud "BOOM!" Dust flew up from where Lennox had hit the ground.
Evan unfroze time and landed on the ground. Yellow energy began to rise from where Lennox had landed. The energy was so strong that it parted the dust and began to make Evan's hair ruffle. Evan froze time once again.
However, before he could complete the cast, Lennox moved. He zipped towards Evan so fast that Evan had no time to react before the punch hit him in the face. The force of the blow was so strong that the area around Evan was blasted apart. Lennox didn't stop there.
He chased after Evan, striking him over and over again, not allowing Evan to hit the ground. Evan tried to reach his sword to block the hits, but Lennox was too fast.
The onslaught continued until Evan was pushed off of the gym floor and into the wall. Evan's face was bloody and bruised. Lennox finally powered down and cracked his knuckles. "If you can't beat me, how the heck are you supposed to beat Coach Haynes?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.
Velena ran over to Evan and began to heal him. "I wasn't expecting you to go that far," Evan said, massaging his torso. "Coach Haynes won't hold back on you Evan," Lennox said, "So why should I?" Lennox extended his hand to Evan and helped him stand.
Evan brushed himself off and went to his portion of the gym. "It's your turn, Benjamin," Evan said. Benjamin walked onto his half of the court and looked at Evan. Evan seemed to be angry after losing to Lennox like that. Evan drew his sword and assumed his most intimidating stance. Benjamin drew broken war and assumed his stance, the Death bringer stance.
Evan didn't even say go before he was sprinting at Benjamin. Evan stopped time and slashed Benjamin across the chest. He then slashed across the arms, legs, and face. Benjamin immediately started bleeding from the numerous cuts. Once Evan's 30 seconds was up.
He backed away from Benjamin and resumed his stance. Benjamin was nearly crippled from the numerous wounds that appeared on him, but after a couple of seconds, he healed completely. Benjamin raised his sword into the air. "Shadow Monarch, Arise," Benjamin said, the faintest glint of a crown appearing above his head.
Benjamin's shadow suddenly stretched across the gym. Evan looked around quickly as the shadows moved around his feet.
Suddenly a pair of hands grabbed Evan by his ankles. Evan didn't have any time to react. Multiple shadows were rising from the floor. They all wielded swords and were looking at him. Without warning, the shadows moved quickly and silently.
They slashed at Evan repeatedly, all moving as fast as Evan could block. Evan was forced to stop time again. He cut the hands that were holding him away and lunged at Benjamin. He stabbed Benjamin in the stomach and flung him towards the wall. Evan unfroze time to watch the effect take place.
Benjamin had been sent flying towards the wall. Suddenly Benjamin switched places with a shadow. The shadow clattered against the wall and turned to mist. Benjamin ran up behind Evan and slashed at him. Evan was just barely able to block the hit before getting attacked by an onslaught of shadows.
Evan blocked and dodged, trying his best not to get hit. He plunged his sword into the ground causing a ring of swords to appear around him.
This forced Benjamin and his shadows back off. I'll have to use the special move I was working on, Evan thought to himself. Evan jumped over the ring of swords and dashed towards Benjamin. Multiple shadows blocked his path. Evan slashed at them, running past them on his way to Benjamin. More and more shadows blocked his path until Evan was eventually forced to stop time to get past them.
Evan unfroze time right as he reached Benjamin. "Let's go!!!" Evan yelled.
Evan raised his hand and pointed it at Benjamin. Orange chains shot from them and snaked around Benjamin. When the chains completely wrapped around him Benjamin froze in time. Evan knocked Benjamin upward. He jumped up to meet him. Evan summoned 7 swords that formed a large ring around Benjamin. He left Excalibur floating in front of Benjamin and dashed to the first sword.
He grabbed it and dashed at Benjamin. He slashed through him.
He reached the second sword and grabbed it, dropping the first. He repeated the same move. He reached the third sword and once again dropped the second and grabbed it.
He repeated this move until he had done it with all seven swords three times. Evan dashed and grabbed Excalibur. He brought Excalibur down onto Benjamin's chest. He carried Benjamin down with his sword and slammed him into the ground unfreezing him and creating a massive explosion.
"Holy crap!" Isaiah yelled from the bleachers. "Evan, I see you," Lennox said. "Benjo, are you okay?" Velena yelled at Benjamin, running towards him.
Benjamin had large cuts all over his torso, arms, and legs. Though the wounds were severe, they were already starting to heal. "I was not expecting that," Benjamin said, groaning at the pain. Benjamin tried to sit up.
A sharp sensation of pain flooded through his body. Benjamin laid back down on the destroyed gym floor. Velena began to tend to his wounds using his powers. Benjamin hadn't realized that Evan could use an ability like that.
Just because of that he may have the power to beat Coach Haynes. Benjamin was so distracted by this that he didn't notice that Velena had finished healing him.
Velena gingerly helped Benjamin sit up.
While he was sitting up Benjamin overheard Evan bragging to everyone else about his new ability. "Why didn't you use that on me?" Lennox asked Evan, half annoyed, half impressed.
"I hardly got the chance, you rushed me immediately," Evan replied, smiling. "That was pretty awesome," Benjamin said to Evan, as he limped over to the group holding onto Velena's shoulder for support. "Now that I know I can use that move, there's no way I'll lose to Coach Haynes." "We've got 30 minutes until the lunch bell rings, should we train some more?" Evan asked, raising Excalibur into the air. "I'm down," Isaiah replied.
Isaiah walked out onto the gym floor with his mace in hand. Evan immediately accepted his challenge and walked out onto the gym floor after him. Evan drew his sword and pointed it at Isaiah. "Are you sure you want to fight me? After what happened to Benjamin," Evan said, raising his eyebrows. "Bring it," Isaiah said.
