"What? Why are you staring at me that way? Or do you hate demons that much?" She asked and chuckled. "I hate demons too so I was only trying to pull your legs, I would be the last person to believe that you are also a demon," she added.
Damn! I almost got caught! Thankfully, she doesn't know yet and was only joking, but what if she later finds out? Hopefully, she won't see me as evil. Letting out a relieved sigh inwardly, I replied, "It's good you were only pulling my legs but please don't try this again."
"Hahaha. . . I won't, ever again!" She laughed and replied. I watched as she laughed, she sure looks beautiful when she smiles.
"So tell me, Elsa told me you've got no parents. Who then were they referring to the other day?" I asked.
"My uncle and his wife, of course, a bunch of idiots!" She scoffed with a frown on her face.
"Huh? Why is that?" I asked, trying to not laugh at her expression.
"They have never taken care of me, all they do is order me around like a servant. The inn is my late parent's efforts but they keep dragging it like it's theirs, I'm so tired of their hassles," she replied.
"I see. . ." I mumbled thoughtfully. "Don't you think they could be the one behind everything, I mean the kidnap and all that?"
She turned and stared at me, I don't know what she could be thinking but I know it'll be difficult for her to suspect them. Besides, they've been living together as a family.
"Sorry about what I said, I was only insinuating that they may and may not be the real culprits. I know it'll be difficult to suspect them but no one can be trusted and you know that, and do not forget what Elsa did."
"I understand your worries, thank you!" She replied and forced out a smile on her face.
While we were still talking, the bus suddenly came to an abrupt stop causing everyone to hit something and they began to murmur and blame the driver for his mistake.
"Bandits!" The driver yelled at the top of his voice.
Everyone stopped complaining and looked outside the windows. I looked outside as well and there, surrounding our bus were men dressed in red and black clothes.
"Come down, all of you and hand your money to us, all of it!" One of the bandits that were in the front spoke coldly.
Seeing that no one was adhering to the instruction, another bandit clicked his tongue and came forward. He opened his hand and a ball of a wave formed on it, he directed the ball of wave towards our bus and as it rushed towards us, the ball turned into a large wave and struck us. The impact caused our bus to swirl for some minutes with everyone in it screaming at the top of their lungs, I grabbed Rina and made sure to protect her so she won't fall or hit anything.
After the wave had died down, the bus stopped swirling around and everyone managed to come down from it and began to throw up.
"Hahaha! That's what you get from being stubborn!" The bandit who caused the wave scoffed as they watched us throw up.
"Are you now willing to hand everything to us? Or should we give you another shot?" A dark-haired bandit asked with an evil grin on his face. As he spoke, fire formed on his hand, it was no doubt the intermediate-level flame but it was very dark, my advanced-level flame seemed a bit dark but not as dark as the man's own.
"He has the blessing of the God seal added in his fire element!" Someone yelled in panic.
"The blessing of the God seal?" I mumbled to myself.
"Yes," Rina having heard what I said replied, "The blessing of the God seal is a very powerful gift that can be given to any mage by the priestess of the hall of liberation, I guess you've heard about the hall of liberation?" She asked.
I shook my head, I've never heard anything about the hall of liberation or the priestess.
"Well, I'll explain about them later but right now, I'll tell you about the blessing of the God seal. As I said, the God seal is the most powerful and highest blessing that anyone can receive from only the priestess of the Hall of liberation. The God seal can improve any mage's cultivation no matter the level he or she is, making the person stronger than any average mage."
"Are you saying that no one can defeat him, not even an advanced-level mage?" I asked to be sure.
She sadly nodded and I turned and looked at the man, it's no wonder his flame was darker than mine, 'The blessing of the God seal' I inwardly thought as my eyes flickered with a whole new desire.
"I know what you must be thinking but let me warn you earlier, it won't be as easy as you think," Rina said and I turned to look at her questionably. "Yes, the priestess is said to appear once in every new year celebration which takes place at the central hall of liberation located in Evon City. For you to obtain the blessing from her which is very much impossible, you'll have to pass her test."
"Don't worry, I'll make her give me the blessing of the God seal at all cost!" I replied with a smirk.
"You wish!" She replied with a scoff.
"You two! Come forward!" One of the bandits ordered, pointing at Rina and me.
We walked to the front and stood, I watched as the man approached us, his lusty eyes fully on Rina.
While I and Rina were conversating, I was inwardly making out plans on how to deal with the bandits especially the one with the blessing of the God seal, we shouldn't be having conversations in a moment like this but I had purposely done it to attract their attention and now, it seems to be working out perfectly.
Seeing how the bandit who had pointed us out was lustfully staring at Rina, I couldn't help but feel disgusted by him. 'It's only a matter of time before I pluck out those eyes of yours from their sockets ' I thought inwardly while glaring at him.
"It seems like you two aren't afraid to die," he spoke with a smirk. "Girl, I'll pardon you and your brother if only you are willing to be my girl," he said to Rina and tried to touch her face.
"Don't you dare touch me!" Rina warned and slapped off the bandit's hand, not allowing him to touch her face.
"Oops, she's violent! I love violent girls the more," he turned to the bandits behind him and chuckled. "They are simply the best because they are also violent in bed, girl, why don't you allow me to touch your pretty face?" Once again, he tried to touch her face but his hand was slapped away by her.
"Don't lay your filthy hands on me!" Rina was completely disgusted by the man, I could feel her anger because I was also feeling the same way.
How could he call me her brother? That was ridiculous! I felt like slicing off that hand for wanting to touch Rina in my presence but I couldn't do it, at least not yet as I was still waiting for the right opportunity to attack.
"Filthy hands? Don't worry, with time, you will be mine!" The bandit said and then turned to one of the men behind him, "Hold her down for me while I deal with these people!"
It appears that he is the boss and so the one he was talking to walked forward and forcefully grabbed Rina. "Follow me!" He ordered as he began to drag her.
