Chapter 23 - Erin's Visit

And so having no choice but to do my bidding, Rina took me and we went to a good pub with music and sexy ladies. At first, I could not believe that she would take us to such a nice place but then I thought there will be no need to be surprised because there was still a lot I don't know about her.

"Let's get drunk today, alright?" I whispered to her as we walked into the place. She looked at me and didn't say a word and so I took that as a yes.

After settling down, we ordered food and drinks which were brought to our table after a while.

"The food here tastes great," she spoke after taking a spoon of her meal.

"Yeah, it is," I replied in agreement with what she said. "Hey, how about we play a game?" I asked after a while.

"What game?" she curiously asked.

"Well, it's like this. . . I'll down a bottle of the drink first and then place the empty bottle on the table. I'm going to spin it and so if it points at you, I'll have to ask you a question which demands only the truth or I give you something to do and you must do it, if you fail to do it, you'll end up drinking two cups of alcohol. How do you see it?"

She stared at me for a while and then a smile curved on her lips, "It sounds fun so I'll do it!" She replied.

And so we began, I downed a bottle of drink and then placed it on the table. I spun it and luckily, it fell on her.

"So tell me, ever being in love?" I asked with a smirk on my lips.

"Why should I have to go first?" She asked as she pouted. "Well, yes, I've been in love!" She replied, still pouting.

I chuckled at her behaviour and then spun the bottle again.

"No!" She half-screamed because the bottle again was facing her.

"Seems like tonight is just for you," I mumbled, causing her to click her tongue with a frown. "Another question, what is in your mind right now?" I asked.

"Honestly, l don't know! I've got no idea of what's going on in my mind," she replied with a hiss.

"That's alright, don't force it!" I said and then spun the bottle again and this time, it fell on me. Looking up and meeting her smiling face I said, "Guess it's your turn to either ask me a question or dare me to do something."

She chuckled and placed her palms on her chin, "Give me a sec to think of something nice," she said and winked at me.

"Very well then," I replied and turned to stare at the ladies who were dancing in the pub, they were all dressed sexily and I saw how men were throwing money at them.

"I've thought of one," Rina said, calling my attention.

"Tell me," I requested.

But just as she was about to talk, her phone rang. She frowned and then pulled out the phone from her bag.

"It's the inn," She mumbled while staring at me. I motioned her to pick and then she did. "It's Ruben," she said and handed the phone to me.

"Bro," I called as I placed the phone on my ear. "Is something wrong?" I asked.

"It's Erin, she's here at the inn and she is crying," Ruben replied over the phone. "Wait, let me give her the phone."

"Kiel, pl-please I need y-your help!" Erin's voice sounded over the phone. As she spoke, her voice was breaking and sounded weak.

"Calm down, tell me what the problem is," I calmly told her.

"It's Sean, he took Eva hostage ever since the day he found out that you went home with her and doesn't want me to see her, she replied.

As she said this, I remembered the day Eva had told me to follow her home because she felt lonely, it's been up to three days or even more and yet, I am yet to hear from her. Initially, I kept wondering why and now, the reason seems to have surfaced. But what I can't understand is why Sean will hold her hostage for more than a day simply because I went to her place, or perhaps, they were into some kind of relationship or something like that.

"Kiel, are you still there?" Erin's voice broke my thoughts and I came back to my senses.

"Since it's Sean and he is your friend, I do not think that there is any reason for you to worry about Eva," I stated.

"You don't understand! He is our friend, yes but ever since he was sent out of school by the teacher, he completely changed. He no longer went out with us or does anything with us, he was only confined to his house," Erin replied.

As expected, Sean was still upset that Ruben beat him but that isn't enough reason to hold Eva hostage unless he had ulterior motives.

"Stay calm and wait, we are on our way back," I said and then ended the call. "Hey, we've got to go now!" I said to Rina who nodded and stood up immediately. We packed our things and then paid the waiter before leaving.

Outside the inn, we boarded a cab that'll take us to the park where we can enter the bus that goes back to our town. We got to the park and got into the available bus and in no time, the bus took off.

We spent only three hours on the road because the driver had decided to follow a shorter route.

Upon getting to the inn, we saw Erin whose eyes were swollen and a long-face Ruben all waiting at the door. The moment they saw us, Erin rushed at me and grabbed my arm.

"Please, you got to help my sister! I don't want to lose her!" She pleaded as fresh tears streamed down her eyes.

Looking at her, I somewhat felt pity for her and got moved to help her but nothing comes easy as we all know. Not after how she treated me coldly during our stay in the portal.

"If I help you, are you willing to make a sacrifice?" I asked with a raised brow.

Hearing my question, she stopped crying and looked at me. "Anything you want! As long as Eva is safe!"
