Chapter 24 - A little Lesson

"Take us to the place!" I requested and turned around to leave the inn.

"What about me?" Rina asked as she walked up to me.

"Stay back, we'll soon be back!" I replied and walked away, not sparing her another look.

We trio left the inn and boarded a cab to Sean's home which was ten blocks away from Eva's place. The house was big, implying that Sean's family was a rich one but that didn't matter to me as I had my mind laid on saving Eva.

We knocked at the gate for some time and after a while, it was opened by a well-built man.

"It's you again!" He coldly said, staring at Erin. "My boss has said he doesn't want you here and yet you come with. . . And who are you?"

"We are Sean's friends, we just came to say hi to him or aren't we allowed in as well?" I asked back.

"As long as I know, my boss has no friends such as any of you. If I were you, I'll leave this place immediately!" The man said, sounding unfriendly.

"But what if we insist?" Ruben asked with a smirk.

"What does that mean?" The man asked.

Ruben smirked even more and without anyone noticing, he gave the man a kick on his belly and he was seen flying into a wall.

"That's what it means!" He mumbled with a grin on his face.

"H-how did you do that?" Erin asked with a stammer.

"You won't understand!" He replied and went into the compound.

We walked into the place and went straight to the door and then pushed it open. There on one of the couches was the person we came for, it seemed he knew we were coming and so he had a smirk on his face as he watched us enter.

"Well, well, well! Look who we've got here," he uttered with a wide grin on his face. "I knew you would come and so I prepared you some gifts!" Just as he finished speaking, some men jumped out of their hidings, holding weapons in their hands.

It happened that I left the sword Rina gifted me back at the inn and so I had nothing to fight with but even at that, I should be able to deal with them without ease.

"Lightning strike!" As I yelled, arcs of lightning filled the room and began to scatter around, attacking all the men in the room and leaving traces of burnt marks on their bodies.

The room was filled with shouts and cries as the men ran around the place looking for places to hide but unfortunately, there was no place for them as the lightning arcs followed them wherever they went.

"Do you think you can win me this time around?" I heard Sean ask amidst the multiple cries. I followed the direction of his voice and saw him standing outside with large flames on both of his hands. "Back then in school, you had it your way, even that teacher dared do your bidding. Hmph! Today will be your end and after that, I'll see to it that Eva is mine, together with her sister!"

"And so what makes you think you are qualified to have them?" I asked in disgust. I so much hate arrogant people, especially people like him that has nothing to offer.

"You'll know afterwards!" He uttered and threw the flames towards my direction.

I easily dodged the attack and got mine ready, since he was using the fire spell, I decided to use mine and show him know who the boss is.

"Fire rupture, burst!" I mumbled and flames appeared on my palms. "Have a taste of mine!" I yelled at him and directed the flames at him.

Unlike his spell, mine was faster and so he couldn't dodge it even if he tried.

"You!" He yelled and tried to put out the fire.

"What do you take my spell for? An ordinary fire you can put out, just like that? Tsk! You are welcome to try!" I scoffed at him as I watched him fool himself.

"Kiel, we need to find my sister, please!" Erin pleaded as she rushed to me.

"Go with Ruben, I'll meet up with you guys soon," I told her and she nodded and ran off with Ruben. Turning around, I watched as Sean was still dealing with the flames. I would have loved to watch him suffer more but then I needed to go find Eva.

I slowly walked up to him and then stood before him, an evil smile curved at the end of my lips as I summoned my gauntlet.

"Wh-what are you doing, you demon!" He yelled while trying to escape.

"You do not deserve to be alive because if you do, I'll have more troubles in the future," I whispered and then grabbed his neck. I tightened my grip on his neck until he was unable to breathe again. He soon fell to the ground with the flames covering him entirely.

I quickly left the place after de-summoning my gauntlet to go in search of Eva. The house was pretty large with rooms everywhere, I met with Erin and Ruben who said they are yet to find Eva.

"Are we going to save her?" Erin asked with a hopeless look on her face.

"We will find her, don't worry!" I assured her and then decided to use one of my demon skills — the demon eye.

After activating the skill, my vision changed and I could see things my ordinary eyes couldn't. For example, Ruben had a dark aura that was mixed with a white one, the dark aura represents his demon powers while the white one represents his ice magic. Erin had a blue aura surrounding her which meant that her element is wind.

I led the way and walked down one of the passages, after walking for some time, I suddenly came to a halt.

"What is it?" Erin asked behind me.

"There is a secret room here and the entrance is on the wall, she is here!" I said and then placed my hand on the wall. As I pushed it, the wall opened and a room came into our view.

"Eva!" Erin yelled as she ran into the room. Eva was lying on the floor with her hands and feet tied and a cloth on her mouth. "Eva, your sister is here," Erin mumbled as she tried to pull her sister up.

"She won't wake up now, let's take her out of this place first," I said to her and then went ahead and loosed the rope they tied Eva with and then carried her.

We left the house and immediately boarded a cab that will take us to their place. After getting there, we went straight to her bedroom and then placed her on the bed.

"Come and take care of her, we'll be leaving you two now," I said to Erin.

"Th-thank you so much," she said with her head lowered. I know she must be feeling ashamed of how she had treated me coldly before, but no one is to blame. Besides, I only did it to save Eva who I like and not because of her.

"When she wakes up, give her something to eat!" I said and then left with Ruben.
