Rola and their group immediately recognized the singing. Despite the voice being in tone, Rola and the others still cringed. They heard this singing every Monday night at the Capo gang clubs, sang by a particularly popular singer and Miracled of the Capo gang, Zaturn.
Zaturn walked through the door with a smile on his face. Even though bloodied bandages covered his mouth, the slanted and sly look on his eyes was enough for Rola to know that Zaturn was smiling.
"Welcome back. I thought you would never come," he said with a casual tone. He didn't feel a bit nervous or surprised that Rola and her group was standing in the heart of their base. It even seemed like he was expecting it.
Rola looked at him with a serious face. But Zaturn was not looking at her face. No, he was looking at her body, from her long brown hair, to her developed chest, to her wide hips, and even to the exposed ankles on her feet. He was looking at her as if she was a delicious meal.
"Zaturn!" Rola shouted.
"Rola. It was stupid of you to leave your orphanage. If you had never come here, you would at least have a safe place to hide in."
Rola looked at the drops of tears rolling down Vrija's cheeks. The tears were not of sadness, but of guilt. Zaturn used her to blackmail Rola into coming here, and Vrija could do nothing but agree. She wept as she put herself first at the cost of her family's safety.
"I'm sorry. It's all my fault," Vrija sobbed.
Rola took Vrija and gave her an assuring hug. "It's not your fault. It's that bastard's fault. You did well. We're here now, and we'll save you."
HAHAHAHA
Zaturn let out a laugh as soon as he heard that. "You and what army? Even a hundred men can't beat a Miracled like me."
Ybarra immediately tensed up. This was it, he thought. He had to do something. With all of his muscles tensing up, he immediately launched himself towards Zaturn, aiming directly at his throat.
This was a lesson he learned from Caesar. If he could take Zaturn off-guard and land a hit on his throat, then he would be able to take out Caesar's Miracle power for just enough time to land a solid hit on him.
But of course, he was not the only one who learned his lesson. Every night, Zaturn always saw the nightmare of Caesar going after his throat. There were even times that he dreamed of Caesar eating his throat like a monster demon.
He already saw Ybarra's movement from a mile away. It was too slow now that he was expecting it. There was no way that a human would be able to land a hit on him, a Miracled–a person gifted by the heavens with power.
He ridiculed them in his mind. This petty attempt from them to rescue Vrija right under their noses was a bold but stupid move. This was their base, their territory, and these kids thought that they could leave alive after setting foot here. Not when they set our club on fire, Zaturn ridiculed.
Truthfully, he knew that Rola and her little group was the one who set their club on fire. He knew that they would use this diversion to rescue their hostage. Even though he knew about it, he didn't tell his gang members.
Kopra, the Capo gang's leader, would not want Rola and her group dead. No. he would want the women to be sold to perverted rich men in an auction, and he would sell the men to the mines or as slaves.
And Kopra would especially want the women to be untouched. They would sell for much higher then. But Zaturn couldn't have that. He wanted to humiliate and destroy these traitors mentally and physically.
With just him, he could do anything he wanted to do to them. Nobody could stop him. By the time Kopra and the other Miracled returned here, Rola's eyes would already be empty as he destroyed every bit of her dignity.
A little bump in his crotch grew as he thought about it.
Zaturn caught Ybarra's fist like it was nothing, just as he expected. But something's different. The fist was too heavy. And by the time he noticed it, Ybarra's fists already bent his hand and went directly to his face.
BAM
Zaturn felt another painful hit in his self-proclaimed beautiful face. His face was still bruised from before, and every single bit of chance he had to restore his face to what it was before was shattered as soon as Ybarra's heavy fist landed.
Zaturn's body was thrown down, with his eyes shaking in disbelief. How could this happen, he thought. There was no way that this human was overpowering him.
When Zaturn looked up, he saw Ybarra's hands were intertwined together, ready to smash his head in. He couldn't let this happen again.
Zaturn opened his mouth and let out a sonic boom from his mouth. This was his Miracle power and he was confident that with just one shout, he could take care of Ybarra without problem.
But that was under the pretense that his attack successfully hit. Ybarra quickly turned to the side and avoided the invisible attack. Zaturn was dumbfounded; he didn't think that his attack would miss.
Ybarra wouldn't let this chance pass by. He straddled Zaturn and prevented him from recovering. With Ybarra's large and heavy body, Zaturn was pinned down and unable to move away.
Unexpectedly, Ybarra was able to determine one of Zaturn's weakness. Zaturn's miracle power, the sonic boom, was an attack best suited for mid-ranged attacks.
This was because his power worked like a wave. The sonic attack started from Zaturn's mouth and it spread out into its surroundings. That was why it was suited for mid-range because in that range, the attack was basically unavoidable.
In the mid-range, it would have spread so wide that no one would be able to avoid it. But if someone attacked Zaturn in the short-range, the attack would be easily avoidable.
That was because the sonic attack was still not spread wide enough to hit everything. At the short-range, the attack was only as big as a thin steel pipe.
Zaturn immediately felt like he was in danger. This position was the most dangerous for him as he felt like he could not escape anywhere.
He opened his mouth and aimed it directly at Ybarra. This would hit, he thought. He wouldn't have enough time to dodge away from this one.
But Ybarra didn't think about dodging. He didn't have to. Ybarra only had to slap Zaturn's face away from him and direct the sonic attack elsewhere.
This slap was not that painful, but it was an embarrassment that Zaturn could not live down. He felt like he was being played with, like he was a lesser than a normal human being.
Even though he had the godlike power of Miracle drugs, he still could not use it to defeat a mere human with no powers. That was the most humiliating part of this beatdown.
Ybarra slammed down his attacks on Zaturn's face and body, targeting his nose and his cheekbones. And every time that Zaturn used his hands to cover his face, Ybarra punched him in the chest and gut. In retaliation, Zaturn used his sonic attacks, but Ybarra would just slap him away like a little child.
Nobody expected this, not Rola, not Zaturn, and not even Caesar. Ybarra himself probably didn't even expect that he had the ability to do this. And judging by the savage look on his face, it looked like he was doing all of this subconsciously, like his body took control over his mind.
If things continued like this, Ybarra would win. He would finish off Zaturn once and for all with just using his fists that hit like a boulder. A normal human beating a Miracled; that was supposed to be impossible.
This was not a part of Caesar's plan. He was impressed with the latent talent in Ybarra's fighting skills, but he did not plan for Zaturn to die this easily.
Rola and the others felt hope seeing Ybarra's show of power. They could do it, they thought. They could escape from this place safely.
It was Zaturn's pride that was his downfall. If he had just gotten the aid of his fellow Miracled, then he wouldn't have been in this position. Rola and the others would be easily subdued without problem.
If he had just brought a few normal members of the Capo gang, he could have also prevented this. Even if Ybarra was ridiculously strong, he couldn't defeat tens of well-trained members even if they were also only human.
Zaturn was slowly losing his consciousness. If it weren't for the added vitality from consuming the Miracle drug, he would have already passed out several punches ago.
Ybarra knew that he only needed a few more hits until he could finally defeat Zaturn, so he gathered all of his strength and readied for an all out attack.
But suddenly,
BOOM
A gunshot, followed by a muffled sound of metal hitting flesh. Everybody looked back and saw a few Capo gang members wearing peaked caps. The man in front had a smoking gun pointed at the middle of the room.
Everyone looked at where he was pointing and saw Ybarra looking at his shoulders, bewildered at the sudden sight of blood flowing from an exit wound.
"Ybarra!"
"NO!" Mitre tried to avenge Ybarra, but the Capo gang members tackled him and down the floor and restricted his arms.
Rola felt despair seeing the men enter the room. If they hadn't come at this time, Ybarra would have been able to defeat Zaturn. They would have escaped. How did they even get in here? The doors were supposed to be locked.
Caesar was watching from the side, with a key hidden in his hands. No one saw him open the door that where the Capo gang members came in.
