Chapter 46 - Poison in the air

The poison continued to spread all around the room, dispersing itself in the dry air. Nobody could prevent or stop this. By the time they knew what was happening, the air was already infected with poison.

"Gughkkk…" the woman-chef uttered as if her throat was super dry. Every breath of air was like sandpaper roughing against her already inflamed throat.

She hurriedly took out the skewers from her bag. The skewers contained white marshmallows that she baked, which gave it miraculous healing properties.

That was why she was a critical part of the Capo gang's operation. As long as she was on the battlefield, she can heal the Capo gang by just giving them marshmallows.

She could heal almost anything, from internal to external injuries. However, she could only heal the person as long as it was not lethal. If it was lethal, then it would only lengthen the time for them to live.

This poison was definitely lethal. But as long as she does not inhale anymore smoke, she could heal the internal injuries with her magical marshmallows.

But then she realized. There was one weakness with this Miracle drug. It was that she could not heal herself through her own marshmallows.

She gasped in surprise. But it was not because of her realizing this weakness, but because she suddenly saw a person standing right in front of her.

Caesar smiled as he looked at her. He had immediately rushed towards her as soon as he threw the bomb, not giving her any time to recover or to try and heal herself.

All the woman-chef could think about was Caesar's smile as his closed fist punched her right in the stomach.

She could not dodge. Her Miracle did not give her a huge boost in her physical abilities. And as she spent most of her time in the kitchen, she did not train herself well enough to have a one-on-one fight.

This was especially so since Caesar's physical abilities were beyond that of his actual body. The average of her physical abilities were in the 60s to 70s while Caesar's stats were in the 130s. It was twice that of her stats.

Caesar's punch landed directly in her stomach, knocking all of the air out of her lungs. Her first automatic response was to hold her stomach and inhale as much oxygen as possible to recover.

However, she soon realized that she would be more poisoned if she were to breathe. But she would soon pass out with the lack of oxygen in her body.

"Don't inhale!" warned her boss, Kopra. But a human's desire to live was stronger than her logic.

Have you ever tried to hold in your breath for as long as you can? Did you know that it would be impossible to kill oneself by holding in your breath, no matter how hard you tried?

This was because your body would fight your mind for control, and eventually, your mind would give in and finally take a breath.

"GUHH!" she breathed.

But regret soon filled her body. With just one breath, her whole mind was poisoned. She felt like her consciousness was slipping away from her, as if her brain was shutting her down.

Soon, she could no longer control her legs, then her arms, then her whole entire body. She fell on the floor like she was a clay mannequin, like she had no life.

But she was not dead yet. No, this was something worse than death. She was still alive, but she could not control her body; it was like being a third person viewer watching your own body deteriorate without being able to do anything..

Her bodily fluids went out of control. Salive poured down her mouth like a fountain, her pants started to be wet with piss, and her eyes cried as she felt despair for her life.

And after all the humiliation, her eyes finally turned cloudy, as if her soul left her body. She finally died, with shame.

The Miracled felt chills along their spine. Their most important and loved comrade died just like that, without any warning just because she inhaled the strange powder in the air.

This was Caesar's ultimate attack against the 6 Miracled who were planning to kill him. This poisonous gas was derived from his pure Joy recipe.

His Joy was 100% pure, with no additives and no impurities. That was why there was no side-effect in consuming his drug while still being addictive.

However, what if you made the opposite of pure Joy? What if you made a 100% impure recipe?

The result was clearly seen with what happened to her. As soon as she consumed the poison, all the powders immediately seeped into their bloodstream and traveled towards her brain.

Most of the Joy that everyone produced only has 30% purity. That meant that it would have 70% impurity. And the result of consuming this would make your brain go into mush in 10 years.

This poison was a boosted version of that. It would accelerate the 'dumb-ening' of your brain from 10 years to 10 seconds until you can't speak, you can't eat, or you can't live.

"Do you like it? This is my new recipe that I specially prepared for this moment," Caesar said casually.

Kopra frowned. He looked at Caesar with anger and seriousness. He didn't think that a small boy like Caesar could push them this much.

He knew that Caesar was smart, maybe even smarter than him, but he didn't think that Caesar was capable of this much. Perhaps his biggest mistake was not killing Caesar much earlier.

"I will not go easy on you," Kopra said as he looked at Caesar and tensed all of his muscles.

His body then transformed, with his gigantic tail swinging behind him. His skin turned leathery, with scales that can withstand even the piercing power of a speeding bullet.

The spaces between his knuckles stretched until three sharp claws in each hand pierced its way out of his skin. His jaw unhinged and enlarged to contain the sharp and terrifying teeth that can shred apart steel.

The only thing that remained human was his head and a few joints in his body. He looked like he only equipped the strongest part of the dinosaur.

This was his Tyrannosaurus Rex transformation. However, this was only his partial transformation, which was strong enough to deal with normal people and most Original-class Miracle drugs.

"For you, I will show my greatest strength. Witness my full transformation!" Kopra shouted.

Immediately, his whole body grew thrice his original body, with his T-rex head scraping against the ceiling. His teeth grew even longer and sharper, his tail grew heavier as it elongated, and his jaw opened up so much that it could fit a whole person.

He was now a full-on Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The T-rex took a step, and the floor immediately gave way. What was left on the pavement was a three-pronged footprint, damaged only by its weight.

There was no doubt that the T-rex had untold power. Its biting force could rip apart a whole building with ease, and its tail could sweep apart foundations off the ground.

And the very tail was now swinging towards Caesar. Every member of the Capo gang knew how strong this dinosaur tail was. They saw how Kopra was able to create a giant crater in a mountain with just one sweep.

Caesar may be strong, but he won't be able to withstand the weight and force of this attack.

[Kopra's status]

[Vitality: 80]

[Strength: 90]

[Dexterity: 50]

[Intelligence: 70]

[Miracle Power: 155]

[Special: Tyrannosaurus Rex]

Since this was a full transformation, this meant that any of Kopra's attacks would be equal to 155 point physical attacks. Caesar only has an average of 130 in all of his stats.

If this tail sweep landed on Caesar, he would not be able to take it unscathed. Best-case scenario, only a few of his ribs would be broken. But despite that, Caesar stood still and took the attack head-on.

The tail swept towards Caesar, and everybody was expecting him to be thrown away. But that didn't happen. The tail stopped right beside Caesar like it was nothing.

Everybody's eyes were full of shock as they saw Caesar stop Kopra's attack with just his one hand. How could that be possible?!

The Miracled of the Capo gang couldn't believe what was happening. Their strongest and most reliable leader used one of his strongest attacks and it was repelled like it was nothing. It didn't make sense.

COUGH

But then Kopra's cough solved everything. He was infected with the poison. The Miracled wanted to speak, but Korpa shot them a look and spoke.

"Don't speak. Reserve your breaths. As long as you don't breathe, even if I live or die, we will win this fight."

With the poison in Kopra's system, his stats went down a total of 20% reduction. This meant that he had an attack of 131, while Caesar's attack was at 133. This difference was enough to give Caesar the advantage.

Kopra knew that his time was on the limit. He had to fight Caesar and make him give up the antidote. This was the only way his Capo gang members would survive.

"Give me the antidote!"

Caesar smiled at him. "Self-sacrifice. That's noble for a filthy criminal like yourself. You must have killed thousands of innocent people just to keep your position."

Kopra roared at him. "Where is it?!"

"You are so confident that your precious members will be safe. But when did I say that holding your breath will save you from being poisoned?"

Right at that moment, Kopra heard a lot of coughing behind him.
