Dana's eyes wondered through the open space as she searched for Linx. Finally she saw a figure standing close to the sea, a guitar in hand and a burn fire beside him.
Hearing her foot steps he turned back, his eyes looking from her head to toe.
"Why are you staring like that..." Dana muttered to himself unaware that he had heard her.
"Nothing really. Just wondering why you're dressed like your are going on a date" Linx said with a smirk.
"Ishh.. you said I should wear something to cover up and this is the only clothes I could find, don't forget you were the one who selected all the outfits I brought here" Dana replied sending Linx a dead glare that made him burst into laughter. She stared at him blankly wondering what she had said that was so funny.
"Heyy why are you laughing?! I hope you ain't thinking that I thought this was a date or something" Dana said forrowing her brows.
"I didn't say that, did I? White looks good on you though, it makes the witch in you look... angelic" Linx said smiling genuinely as he glanced over her figure. She had worn the white off shoulder long sleeves long dress he picked for her, her hair was let loose and it flowed down her shoulders.
"Haiiyaa... I know that was a compliment but you're just too... Wait shy or should I say your ego won't permit for you to admit it" Dana replied with a smirk.
"Ha you wish." Linx replied
Linx couldn't get his eyes off her, she looked simply angelic her height making her seem like a goddess when she walked over to where he was. To hide how nervous she made him feel he quickly sat down on the sand.
"So why did you bring me here?" Dana asked as she sat on the sand across Linx.
"For fresh air and to sing you a song." Linx replied as he wore the guitar around him, ready to start playing it.
"Its called "Listen to my heart beat" Linx said as his eyes closed and his hands started to move, making the lifeless strings come to life emitting melodious tunes graced by the purity of his voice and the emotions in the lyrics of the song.
"Hear my heart beat, it beats just for you.
Silently so you can't hear it
Cause what if you do and it's sound scares you away?
I'll hurt so I can see you smile
Watch you love someone else so I can keep you as a friend you see me as.
Just watching you smile makes my heart content but also breaks me that I am not the reason for your smiles"
Dana's eyes started to water as she watched Linx sing his face illuminated by the light from the burn fire, he looked so hurt as he played the strings and sang. When he the song ended a tear had dropped off Dana's eyes as its Melody had flooded her mind with memories, happy sad memories.
"That was beautiful" she muttered as she stared at Linx who had turned his face towards the sea.
"Thanks." He replied, his voice sounding hoarse like he was about to cry.
"I love the songs... don't think I've heard it though, who's the artist?" Dana asked curiously.
"Me. I wrote it." He replied forcing a small smile at her.
"You? Then how come I've never heard...it" Dana said before she remembered that she had barely known any of Linx's songs although they were popular she never knew who the artist was until she had started working in the agency and had to listen to most of his songs.
"That's cause you're the first person that's hearing it. I wrote it before I debuted years back." Linx replied his eyes on the ground as he played with the sand, taking a handfull and letting it slip out through the spaces by his fingers.
"Why haven't you released it yet? It's so soul enchanting, it would climb the chats in no time." Dana said as a matter of fact as she watched him play with the sand.
"I don't sing for the charts, views, popularity or money Dana, I sing because i want to share a piece of me with everyone that listens to me, I want to be able to connect with hearts through my music. I love music that's why I do it." Linx said, his eyes looking into Dana's.
"Mm...the clouds so beautiful tonight" Dana said awkwardly trying to change the topic and ease the tense atmosphere.
"Yeah, the sea as well, the waves seem very happy see the way they're dancing" Linx replied looking over the sea.
Dana was glad he had changed the topic as well.
Together they both stayed out watching the waves and talking, well he did most of the talking and she just listened. Linx told her about his highschool days and then he tried to teach her the guitar but go interrupted mid way by Desiree who had come back and convinced Linx to go to bed seeing that it was already late and he had a meeting with the organizers the next day.
Reluctantly he went to bed and so did Desiree who had been staring daggers at Dana from when he had met Linx around her as he tried to show her how to hold the guitar well. Dana stylishly avoided any conversation he seemed to want to bring up so she offered to clean the kitchen which was still a mess.
Five minutes into cleaning she received a beep on her phone which she had plugged in the living room before she had gone out to meet Linx. She quickly discarded off the pizza packs and went to get her phone, when she opened it just like she had guessed it was a massage from the anonymous person who had sent her pictures of her with Linx.
The massage included pictures of she and Linx at the Cafe when they had first met, she and Linx hugging when he had saved her from the goons that had been following her. Seeing it her mind quickly went to Hu Chaoxiang, he had been the one that had sent the goon before and the only one she had any problem with so she instantly suspected him but a following text left her confused.
"Tomorrow 7pm come to the old Cinema at Central C park, alone."
"Central C park? " Dana muttered to herself as her shaking legs gave way and she fell to the sofa.
"Could it be a coincidence or just a silly mixup?" She muttered as her mind ran wild. Central C park was located in City X, an hour's trip away from the city she was in now. Growing up she had spent most of her time at Central C, it was the only place she could escape to far away from home and eventually she had taken Haneul there and that had been their favorite place especially the Cinema, whenever she went there she felt closer to her dreams, she would imagine people watching her on TV and in cinemas like this one day but that was before her life hit an iceberg once again and now this black mailer was asking her to go there?
"It's just a coincidence...it's just...." She muttered to herself before a voice broke her out of her rumbling.
"Dana?.. " Desiree called out from the stairs.
"Um.. yeah?" Dana replied nervously, her face bright red with sweat all over her forehead and neck.
"You should go to bed early, we've got a long day ahead of us." Desiree said before he turned back and started walking away.
"Alright." Dana nervously replied.
"A long day.... A really long day ahead." Dana mumbled to herself as she absentmindedly walked up the stairs.
