On the frozen river, some people were surfing. Enjoying winter holidays outdoors.
Even so, some people remained in the house. They prefer to sit by the fire to warm themselves. Accompanied by hot chocolate, they can spend up to 2 hours without any activity.
For those who have a high sense of enthusiasm, winter is not an obstacle to activities outside the home. Some of them could not feel cold because they enjoyed their activities.
Just like two men walking in the snow. They laughed enjoying the atmosphere around them, causing cold steam from their mouths.
"I will be there." A man in a gray hat points to the frozen river. He started to tighten his shoelaces.
His friend nodded. "I'll catch up after calling Borr." He walked away and pulled his cell phone out of his jacket pocket.
The gray hat started to skate. He dragged his feet into the middle of the river. As he was hurtling north, he bumped into a girl and fell. "Oh my God, are you all right?" He helped the boy get up.
The girl nodded, and she smiled a little. "I'm fine."
The man looked regretfully. "Forgive me."
"It's no big deal. I'm learning to skate anyway." The girl raised her right leg.
The pink skates fit neatly on the girl's feet. She slid her shoe against the icy surface, colorful lights flashing on both sides of the shoe. "Look, isn't this very good?"
The man nodded. "Amazing."
The girl chuckled. "I'm Beatrice, my parents just moved here." She reached out.
"Are you British?" The man held Beatrice's hand.
Beatrice nodded. "You could say that. What's your name?"
"Vali."
Beatrice nodded back. "Good name." Praise her with a smile.
Vali smiled. "You're a sweet girl." He pinched Beatrice's cheeks which were reddened by the low temperature. He felt happy to be near the boy.
"I see, your playing is amazing. Will you teach me?"
"I can teach you." Vali knelt and looked at Beatrice's face. "But not, for now, I'm only here for a moment."
"Ah, that's a shame. I wanted to be with you." Beatrice pursed her lips with a sulky look.
"Me too. But I'm sorry."
Beatrice looked away, she looked at the other kids surfing with the adults. She wanted to be like them. Playing with parents, laughing, and having fun.
Vali noticed Beatrice's gaze and exhaled, trying to understand the girl's attitude. "I changed my mind. We can play for a bit. Until my friends come."
To be honest, Vali couldn't bear to look at Beatrice. The girl looks messy even though the clothes she wears look expensive. Beatrice's hair fell, covering her temples and cheeks. Her lips were also very pale.
"Oh really?" Beatrice smiled widely. Both of her hands grasped Vali's. "Finally I can be like them."
Vali smiled in confusion. "You mean?"
With an innocent look, Beatrice said. "My parents are very busy. We rarely do anything like that." She pointed to a child holding a man's hand. "But now it doesn't matter. Because I have you now."
Just as he was about to reply to the girl's words, someone called out to Vali. "I'm here, Odin!" Vali waved.
"Vali! Borr will be here in 15 minutes." Odin looked at Beatrice curiously. "Hi, what's your name?" He knelt before Beatrice, making Vali shift slightly.
"I'm Beatrice. Who are you?"
"Odin. Call me Odin." Odin turned his gaze towards Vali. "Isn't she so cute?" he asked Vali
Vali nodded and smiled.
"When can we do it?" Beatrice looked at Vali excitedly.
"At the moment."
Odin frowned in confusion. "What are you going to do?" He looked at Beatrice.
"We will learn to skate together. Would you like to join us?" Beatrice answered.
Odin nodded. "No. I'll pull over there." He pointed to an empty spot by the river. "Have fun." He said as he walked away.
Vali and Beatrice started skating. They look like a loving father and son. Look happy and free.
Vali was happy to be able to spend a little time with Beatrice. Although he didn't know whether Beatrice's words about the child's parents were true or not, he was happy to be able to comfort Beatrice.
Odin looked at his friend with a faint smile. He sat down on the available chair. He chose to play on the phone.
"Odin!"
Odin turned his head, he stood up and waved a glance at the man who called out to him. "Bargi."
They hugged like men, patted each other on the shoulder, and chuckled.
Odin looked at the woman who was with Bargi. Then stretched out a hand toward the woman. "Hi, Bargi's lover?"
The woman laughed and shook Odin's hand. "Hel." She introduced herself.
Odin nodded, he looked at Bargi who was smiling crookedly with a faint smile. "I hope you're happy."
Bargi nodded and Hel smiled in approval. They both looked at the people who were skating.
"I thought you were Borr."
Bargi turned, he pulled Hel's hand to sit. Then looked back at Odin. "Wouldn't he be arriving a little later?"
"What are you guys going to do? Is this a very serious men's gathering?" Hel asked in confusion.
The woman was wearing thick black pants and a jacket, and a crimson knit hat on her head. Her lips were painted a deep red, matching his hat.
Bargi waved his hand. "You can't say it like that." He pointed at Vali who was pulling Beatrice's hand. "You saw that man? Doesn't he show seriousness?"
Hel looked at Vali with narrowed eyes. "I think you're wrong. He looks like he loves his daughter."
Odin cleared his throat slowly. "Vali isn't married yet."
Hel turned around in surprise. "Really? He looks very mature."
Bargi and Odin nodded in unison. They agreed with Hel's words. Vali does look "very mature" since the man is already 35 years old.
However, until now there was no woman close to Vali. He behaves as if he is restricting himself from interacting with the opposite sex. Many women like him.
However, none of that mattered to their friendship. As long as it doesn't ruin or mess up their relationship, they won't mind Vali's attitude.
"He loves children."
Hel nodded. "Good husband-to-be."
Bargi snorted softly, he looked at Hel with disapproval. Since they were lovers, it was forbidden for them to praise the opponent in any form.
Before long, Borr came with four cups of hot coffee in his right hand. He patted Odin's shoulder with his left hand. His lips curled into a smile, meaning to say hello.
"Have you arrived?" Odin asked. Bargi and Hel turned to Borr.
Bor nodded. "I brought coffee for you." He looked at Hel then looked at Bargi. "You didn't say you were going to bring your girlfriend. I only brought four cups of coffee."
Hel immediately waved both hands. "I don't drink coffee, sorry."
Borr nodded and sat down beside Odin. He looked at Vali who was walking toward him. "You look very happy."
"That's because he has a new acquaintance."
Bor laughed. "What's his name?"
Vali sat opposite Borr. "Beatrice." He answered with a smile.
Needless to say, he did feel happy after spending a few minutes with Beatrice. The boy was able to make him comfortable.
"I'm afraid you're a pedophile." Said Bargi who was immediately given a punch on the shoulder by Hel.
Vali just laughed, he didn't mind Bargi's words. To him, it didn't matter.
"Since we're all set, I'd like to offer you a vacation. And..." Borr looked at Hel questioningly.
"Hel," said Hel.
Bor nodded. "And Hel for a vacation to Bodo."
"That's too far. We won't be able to drive for long." Odin said calmly. He knew very well how far Trondheim and Bodo were.
Vali and Bargi nodded, they agreed with Odin's words.
Borr waved his hand. He had prepared all the vacation necessities that he had dreamed of long ago. "We will use the ship Skigen Of The Seas."
Bargi, who was drinking his coffee, immediately choked. "Really? It was my dream." He smiled imagining the atmosphere of the ship at night. Stars strewed in the sky and the sea breeze penetrated the clothes to the skin. Then, entertainment can be enjoyed at any time. "This will be my best vacation if I come along," he muttered.
Vali and Odin looked at each other, exchanging thoughts through glances. Then nodded. "Sure. We can spend the rest of our winter vacation there." Odin lashed out.
Vali nodded.
Borr smiled broadly. "You're coming too, aren't you?" He looked at Hel questioningly.
Hel glanced at the smiling Bargi. "Since he's coming, I'm going with you too." She replied with a faint smile.
