Chapter 7 - Whirlpool at sea

Nanna could never leave Elli even though she wanted so badly to. The tens of thousands of dollars that Elli's family had given away turned out to be a disaster behind the money. The money she used to cure her mother's illness turned out to make him have to stay by Elli's side, no matter what the circumstances.

All the mistakes that Elli made will affect Nanna. She was required to take responsibility even if it wasn't her fault.

The world is so cruel to poor people. Nanna knows that. And sometimes she blames God because she was born poor.

The ringing of the phone woke Nanna from her deep sleep. She fingered the surface of the table, took out her cell phone, and took an incoming call.

Without looking at the name of the person calling, she pressed the loudspeaker button. "Hello?"

"Nanna,"

Nanna rubbed her eyelids and smiled. "Oh, mom. How are you?"

"I'm well. How about you?"

"I am also fine,"

Nanna's heartfelt calm after hearing her mother's voice. Since yesterday, since Elli was with the man named Bargi, Nanna couldn't sleep peacefully. Out of all of Elli's misdeeds, it was the woman's flirtatiousness that would get Nanna the most trouble.

In the past, almost all the men Elli had dated held Nanna accountable because they had lost a lot of money. Nanna has done various ways, including telling this to Elli's parents.

However, their response didn't match what Nanna had in mind. Elli's parents did not even respond to their son's actions. Instead, they blamed Nanna and said that Nanna couldn't make Elli any better.

"I'm grateful,"

Nanna smiled.

"What about Ellie?"

Nanna was silent for a moment. "Elli is fine. She… is always kind." She smiled sadly. Since her mother knew that Elli's family paid for the hospital fees, the old woman cared more about Elli than Nanna.

"I'm grateful. Mom made cookies yesterday. Bring Elli home, tell her to eat all the cakes mom made."

"I'll do it after we get home from vacation." Nanna looked at the clock on the wall, she got up and folded the blanket. "I have to go. Shall I close it?"

"Just close it. Give my regards to Elli."

Nanna immediately turned off the phone and took a shower. She intended to take a look at the ship and relax her mind.

"Look at that! They don't match at all."

Borr looked at Bargi and Elli from a distance. "Whatever it is, it doesn't matter to me."

Vali looked at Borr with disapproval. He leaned back and exhaled. "I want to share Bargi's badness with you. But your response is always not good."

Borr smiled, he adjusted his posture to face Vali. "I'm confused, do I have to reply to every word you say?"

Vali frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Even though you talk bad about Bargi, don't I know it yet? Of course, it has. So, what am I supposed to say if you say something I already know?"

Vali was silent, he thought about Borr's words. "That is true."

Borr chuckled. "In friendship, we will find people who are truly sincere friends with us." He looked down at the toe of his shoe. "Is not it?"

Vali nodded. "It seems like."

Suddenly the people who were in the same place as Borr and Vali, the forecastle on the 2nd floor, pulled over while holding up their cell phones. The curious Vali and Borr immediately approached the crowd and stared at the sea.

A whirlpool was spinning not far from their ship.

Borr who saw that immediately cursed softly. "Shit, this is going to be a disaster."

Vali turned around. "What do you mean?"

Borr looked at Vali seriously, he pointed at the whirlpool. "We are close to that vortex. Do you know what that means? We will be sucked in there!"

Vali's eyes rounded, his mouth slightly opened. "We have to save everyone." He immediately turned around and ran inside.

Borr who saw that immediately chased after Vali and called the man.

The whirlpool was getting bigger and bigger. Beneath it, the Kraken continued to twist its tentacles. He looks very excited.

"Vali!" Borr grabbed Vali's shoulder and looked at Vali.

"What would you do?"

"What else besides telling everyone?"

Bor nodded. "In what way?"

"I will make an announcement!"

"Oh come on Vali. We can do nothing but ask the captain to turn the ship!" Bor shouted. "I know you're panicking, but don't be rash."

Borr pulled Vali's hand. He was surprised by Vali's slightly different attitude. That man---Vali---never acted rashly even in a state of panic.

However, for Borr, it was not something worth thinking about right now.

On the other hand, people continued to photograph the whirlpool. They compete to collect as many pictures as possible. Standing here and there with different styles. They do not realize that there will be a disaster that befell them.

Unlike most people, a bespectacled woman stared at the whirlpool with a frightened look. Her hand holding the book and pen trembled. She backed away slowly. "We're going to die!" She screamed and ran inside, her body bumping into several people.

The woman who was standing not far from where the bespectacled woman had previously turned to her friend. "Dead? Are we going to die?"

"I think she's a lunatic," replied one woman.

"We're going to die, kid!" The old man replied to the woman's words.

"What do you mean?"

The old man didn't answer, he walked away leaving the two women still wondering.

"What's going on?" one of the women asked.

The woman's friend shook her head, she put her arm around the woman's shoulder and asked. "That's not important. Now, we have to take as many photos as we can! I'll show you later." He took out his phone again and posed.

Nanna stared at the sea flatly. She was not interested in the scene in front of him, very different from the people around him who were so enthusiastic about the whirlpools in the sea. She exhaled slowly.

"Elli makes my life always hit by bad luck," she mumbled.

She turned and walked away from the crowd. Then she looked at Elli and Bargi who were sitting together affectionately. She sighed choosing to leave.

On the other hand, Elli brought her head close to Bargi's ear, and she smiled. "I'm so happy to be with you."

Bargi turned and smiled. "Me too."

Elli glanced at Bargi, then looked at the activities of the people. To be honest she felt very bored with Bargi. The man was not a rich man. So, Elli couldn't take anything from the man. In addition, Bargi seems to be still stuck with his feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Hel. It was a very annoying thing for Elli.

Bargi pulled Elli's hand, he looked at the woman seriously. "You look different from before. You've been a little cold since that incident."

Elli looked at Bargi flatly. "What do you mean?"
