Chapter 5 - Signs

The shock caused Borr to stop in his tracks. He directly leaned against the wall and looked down. He felt there was something odd about the atmosphere that enveloped the ship.

"I hope nothing bad happens." He muttered while continuing his steps towards Odin and Vali's room.

"I felt the shock." A woman said to the man beside her, she looked at her interlocutor seriously. "It's like we hit something."

The man beside the woman shook her head, he put his arm around the woman's shoulder and smiled reassuringly. "We'll be fine. You don't have to worry."

The woman nodded without replying to the words of the man beside her.

Borr looked at the two of them---while they were waiting in line in front of the elevator---with various conjectures. Because he also felt the shock clearly, like bumping into or getting hit by something big but at the bottom, not the front or the side.

When the elevator arrived, he went inside with the two of them. They were still discussing the shock even though the man didn't take it very seriously.

Borr exhaled, he felt the elevator moving very slowly. He tapped the toe of his shoe against the floor.

After the elevator stopped at the floor he was going to, Borr immediately got out and rushed towards Vali's room and knocked on the door of the room.

"Vali,"

The door immediately opened, and Vali looked at Borr flatly. "What is it? Why did you come?"

"I was worried about you."

"Is that true?" Vali's head tilted to the right. "Come in if there's something you want to talk about."

Borr came in and the door closed.

On the other hand, a giant octopus or Kraken extends its tentacles to the bottom of the ship's surface. He tried to entangle the big ship with his 8 tentacles. However, he didn't make it, his tentacles only made the ship shake a little.

In the end, he chose to stay away from the ship to do more than that.

"I still like them. It's just, that I'm a little afraid to get close to them." Vali looked down, he looked down at his bare feet.

"Not all women are like her,"

Vali raised his head, he stared at Borr in awe. "You are right." He exhaled slowly. "If she didn't kill our son, I would be happy with my daughter."

Long ago, when Vali had a woman he loved, that woman had the heart to kill their child. She---that woman---mixed poison into their daughter's food. The incident made Vali disappointed and immediately left his lover, he left with the lifeless body of his little daughter.

He was very sorry for entrusting his daughter to that woman, even though she was his daughter's biological mother. However, until now there was nothing Vali did but try to bury all those bad memories.

He didn't even report his girlfriend to the police because he still loves her.

"I shouldn't have left Eir with Hulda. Even though I know what Hulda is like, I still think of her as a soft-hearted angel." Vali chuckled. "Don't I look like I don't like the opposite sex now? Maybe I also look like a creepy pedophile?"

Borr was silent, he didn't know what to do. For him, losing a loved one is painful, but that doesn't mean it should change our view of the world.

But, back to each other. Not everyone has an open heart, not everyone wants to let go of their loved ones.

"I understand."

Silence enveloped the room. Both Borr and Vali were reluctant to speak. However, their minds were filled with various thoughts.

*

"Is that true? I don't have a partner either."

"Bargi! I think you've gone too far!" Odin stood up and looked at Bargi with anger. "I know you love women very much, but please think about Hel's feelings! You can't do what you want, you bastard!"

Elli and Nanna looked at Odin fearfully, they slightly moved away from the man.

While Bargi looked at Odin with a flat gaze. "What is your problem? Did I harm you?"

Odin looked at Bargi with a surprised look. Then he laughed loudly. "Oh shit. I forgot you're an ignorant man." He smiled scornfully. "Have fun with your new woman. Don't expect me to see you again." He said as he walked away.

"It's all my fault." Elli looked down, she squeezed her hands together.

Nanna glanced at her friend and exhaled slowly. "Your bitch will never go away." She got up from his seat. "Enjoy your new game, come back if you lose." She said as she walked away leaving Elli and Bargi.

"Forgive me,"

Bargi shook his head and smiled. "This is not your fault. Besides, I'm so sick of being advised by my friends."

Ellie smiled. "Thank you."

The two of them looked at each other and gasped as a huge shock occurred. Everyone who was still in the room screamed and ran out of the room, they were panicked and scared.

Bargi looked here and there, then looked at Elli worriedly. "We must leave immediately." He got up and grabbed Elli's hand, running out in everyone's footsteps.

*

"How? Was the damage that bad?"

"Not really, this can still be fixed."

The white-clothed man nodded, and he continued his steps towards the ship's wheelhouse. He opened the door and looked at the captain who was slowly turning the wheel of the ship. "Everything's fine, isn't it?"

"Yes. So far, although the shaking has occurred several times, our ship is still in stable condition."

"Have you checked the engine?"

"Not yet. But I had no trouble driving it."

The man in white nodded, he went out and looked around the rest of the ship.

"Good grief." He covered his mouth with his right hand when he saw a long and large living object passing under the ship.

*

Odin massaged his temples with his eyes closed, he whimpered softly. His breath was loud. "How could he possibly do that? Doesn't he think about Hel's feelings?"

Borr and Vali stared at Odin in silence, they were reluctant to say anything.

Odin adjusted his posture, he sat up straight on the sofa. "Imagine. Imagine if he was betrayed by the person he loved."

"I wouldn't have imagined it," said Borr. He looked at Odin flatly, he didn't like the words his friend was saying. "Maybe he's gone too far, but I think we're guilty too." He looked down.

Vali was silent, he felt that something was missing. "Where's Hel?"

Borr and Odin looked at each other, they forgot Hel's existence.

"Oh shit. We have to find that woman." Odin got up and walked quickly towards the door. He came out and knocked on the door of Bargi and Hel's room. "No answer."

Borr frowned. "Does he already know about Bargi?"

"I do not think so." Vali shook his head.

"We can break it down." Odin directly hit his body with the door several times until the door opened.

Hel was seen sleeping on the bed with a thick blanket covering almost his entire body. Her face also looked pale and red, as if she had been crying. The condition of the room is very messy, tissue sheets are everywhere.

"I didn't know she would find out so soon."

"Not necessarily," said Borr.

The three of them immediately approached Hel who was still closing her eyes. Odin patted Hel's cheek until she woke up.

"What are you doing here?" Hel asked in a hoarse voice, her lips dry and chapped.

"We should be the ones asking you, Hel. What happened?" Odin sat beside Hel. While Borr and Vali were standing behind Odin.

Hel looked down for a while then looked at Odin, Borr, and Vali in turn. Her lips smiled faintly. "I'm just sad that Bargi broke our relationship."

"What?"

"Are you serious?"

Hel nodded and smiled. "Maybe that's the way to go. I am alright."

Borr looked down at the floor. His eyes narrowed when he saw a small object lying near the foot of the bed. He immediately picked it up and looked at it in surprise.

However, Borr immediately tucked it into his trouser pocket. He turned and smiled faintly. "Our ship has experienced several shocks."

"Yeah, I felt it earlier. I hope everything is okay."

On the other hand, Vali gulped nervously. He remembered the huge creature he had seen a while ago. Fear immediately enveloped him.
