When Maria thought of a function hosted by one of the most feared mafia leaders in the world, she thought of something fancy, with high security and slow music. Instead, she was met by a huge shiny banner with the words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEORGIO" written boldly on it. Blue ribbons, streamers, and what appeared to be people dressed as cartoon characters littered the entire garden. The excited cheers of the children could be heard, and Maria was able to recognize one of them as Don Claude's granddaughter.
Why was she so surprised? She had to remember that this was a child's birthday party. She had nearly forgotten that fact.
