Lorenzo had his back leaned against the wall as he watched Maria release several bullets into Diablo's picture. On the surface, she had nothing but hatred for the smirking man. But within her, she was confused and disturbed.
Something had happened to her back then, something unusual. It was as though she was hypnotized or rather paralyzed. His voice, his eyes, his touch, everything. Was she intimidated? No, that could not be right. As much as she hated to admit it, she enjoyed being in his arms.
