"Face the demons?"
"Yes. You need it." Arden spun the scythe in his hand, then handed it to Runa again. "Don't you want to be able to face them yourself?"
"Didn't you say you would come straight to me if I was in danger?"
Runa was dumbfounded after saying that. She had never wanted to depend on other people for her life, but why was she now saying that?
"Anna is gone," said Runa again. "No one will attack me again." Then Runa remembered the message that Anna had left for Arden. "She apologized for slandering you."
"I don't care," Arden said coldly. "And you are wrong to think that Anna is your main problem. As a Tsarqi, we will always be dealing with demons, even if we don't ask for them. Because we were born to fight them."
Runa clenched her fists. She looked at the scythe, its black color and intimidating form. Runa was worried that something would happen to her if she held it.
