"Everyone we must kill the caster before we're done for. But we must form a group of people who are capable enough to hunt him and at the same time, those who can defend the carriage." Carlo shouted.
His comrades were skeptical at first but they reluctantly nodded afterward.
No matter how sane you are, to survive this situation, you will eventually be forced to kill the caster first.
When they finally finished forming a group, five people hastily went out to hunt the spell caster with Carlo as the leader.
They carefully avoided some undead on the way to save their strength and stamina for the upcoming battle. After all, a necromancer-type monster is the hardest monster to kill even for higher levels. Only if the monster overlord doesn't exist.
On the other hand, Flux carefully read his opponent's attacks to easily counter, avoid, and kill them without putting much effort.
He killed them instantly earlier, but for an unknown reason, they stood up firmly as if nothing happened. Have it not for hearing their conversation, Flux might not have remembered the monster he's facing with and is bewildered by the fact that these monsters are not giving out experience after killing them at first.
And that's why he is doing whatever he can to prevent using his full strength here.
But...
"Why did those guys go there? The lich is literally dozens of meters away in front of me. All I have to do is to run straight and I will eventually see him." Said Flux, absolutely confident with this assertion.
Lich was the name given to the monster who can summon undead and other various spells that only magicians could use.
"well, whatever, let them face that monster to lessen the damage here."
Flux had no reason to stop their rush decisions if it has the reason to benefit others.
It's also thanks to his special prowess that he'd pinpointed every undead in the area rapidly in a single glance. And that's why it was already unsurprising if the others thought that the tremendous mana they sense on the other side was the lich. However, they completely got the wrong idea and mistaken that monster for a lich.
It would only be a matter of time before they get crushed by that monster.
Regardless, the advantages given to Flux were too immeasurably to be said in words.
Flux thought unsympathetic. 'Lich, you may have come to manipulate us but not for me'
Leaving those thoughts behind, the sound of the ground reverberated through the forest as Flux dashed forward at an abrupt speed.
Bang
The wind and the mist were dispersed as he passed through them at almost instant speed.
The undead that was trying to tie him down did not do much. They were cut into pieces instantly before they could even do something while breaking through them.
"..."
The people after noticing that were speechless. They're too stunned.
...
On the other hand...
"Everything is playing in my hands according to my plan"
This hoarse lonely voice came out of the lich in the forest dozens of meters away from his prey.
His staff is glowing brightly and lightened the area around him in which several corpses of people were revealed.
Perhaps because a certain someone is absorbing their remaining energy inside their body, the remaining Flesh were deliberately disappearing.
Nonetheless, there is something that he is more vigilant about.
According to the information he received through reading the minds of these corpses, a group of people that consisted of 26 members on it will pass through this area.
It was an opportunity to absorb their mana and strength to become stronger. As such, he has no negative impressions of taking them as well and immediately set out to prepare an ambush.
And just by looking at the situation, it seems like, everything is slowly going according to his plan smoothly.
This plan had no flaws in it. The mana he preserved was intentionally implanted inside the special monster he owns on the other side. The purpose was to make sure that his presence is not known to his prey. Albeit his strength is far greater than theirs, the outcome will remain mysterious if he deliberately comes there personally with just a little understanding of their strength. Some might even be close to his strength, some might equal to him, then what would happen if they targeted him and surround them from all directions? The answer is obvious, he would indeed lose to them easily. Even though he had hundreds of undead with him, it won't be enough to protect himself from a formidable opponent.
Needless to say, he needs a perfect plan to annihilate them.
And that's what the rock was for. He intends to destroy the tire even just one of the tires to slow them down. And the moment they took the bait, his undead will surround them before they could make a decision. And lure them to the opposite side by injecting a large amount of mana into his favorite puppet that would certainly make them think it's him.
Why? Because there's no way they just stand there fighting with the undead. They would ultimately send their best warriors to make a way for themselves to find the puppeteer.
And this will be the time for his favorite puppet to show his power.
Losing their control on the battlefield after finding the fake controller is the key to his victory.
Sooner or later they will die at the hands of his undead without revealing himself.
The Lich smirked as though he had already declared his victory.
a perfect victory with the perfect plan.
Is what he initially thought...
Swoosh-
'!!!'
something feels off in the surroundings. The source is unknown but the Lich felt it.
'What is this? Something is coming here. I don't exactly know what is happening but the speed at which it's traversing... I cannot comprehend it. It's not just fast but super fast that I couldn't really tell what is coming ahead' Lich put up his guard as he felt a tremendous presence coming up from ahead.
Swoooossshhh...
With the sound of the wind passing through his ears, the silhouette of a kid around the age of 7 shone brightly right under his eyes.
!!!
His eyes rapidly broaden as he saw the face of Flux bluntly flashing right before his eyes.
『Technique Deployment, Dark Crescent Moon』
7 meters crescent slash coated with several small crescent slashes was created after swinging his sword against the Lich.
Bang──
Crack crack... Scattered...
The sound of cracking before scattering all over the place resounded inside the ears of Flux.
Shortly after that, Flux regained his composure and said. "A barrier huh... That's a disappointment."
In front of him was the Lich trying to be composed in this situation with various purple crystallines falling around his body.
He was propelled meters away from his original spot upon receiving that blow point-blank.
If he did not use his feet to hold on to the ground, he might be lying on the ground dozens of meters away by now.
He then spoke with his expression full of curiosity. "Who the hell are you? And how did you find this place?"
Flux tilted his head. "Nothing special. I just predicted where you are staying and immediately head out to kill you"
The Lich frowned after hearing that. "That's hardly impossible. My strategy is flawless and no one will be able to see through it. Therefore, your statement is rather off, there must be other reasons why you found my location this easily."
"...Well, whether you believe it or not is not up to me but the fact that I'm right here in front of you, should be precise evidence of my testimony. Surely you already know that better than me."
"..."
A slight silence filled the area.
The lich went silent, not because he was shocked but because he doesn't have anything to answer that. Flux completely shut him off.
and Flux did not tell any more other than that. Rather, he gives him time to comprehend it.
After a short while, the Lich began to speak again as though he had finally solved the problem. "I see. That eye of yours is quite a handy one."
!!!
Flux was shocked. Nonetheless, he replied in his composed self."...that's quite surprising."
"You don't have to be surprised. We monsters can feel any type of mana and nature's energy and that eye of yours is emitting a tremendous amount of these two energies. No, not just two energies, there are more than just that. An energy I'm not quite familiar with but at the same time yes. Seems like I will be busy gouging your eye out for research after killing you."
"That monster intuition is quite a cheat skill. Regardless, what you said is scary~"
Flux said this in a tone he's provoking him with no emotions.
"You're quite persistent aren't you?"
"I'd never done something that would make you say that."
"Nevertheless, you're the only one standing right here, and judging by your looks, it seemed like you just received your system based on your age. Albeit it was surprising for you to destroy my barrier with that strange-looking weapon you have, you won't be able to win against me with just you alone" The lich spoke as he took his staff before casting magic.
"Necro-Magic, Dark Life"
Several human-looking undead with swords came out beneath the surface and formed a line to protect their master.
"..."
"No matter what you do, a seven-year-old kid will never beat me"
The lich was being confident.
However...
Flux is not the type of kid you can just find in the street and... It seemed like, he was underestimated based on his age.
"Well... You can think whatever you want. But let me remind you, I'm not just a kid, I'm a destroyer." Said Flux as he swung his katana.
Swish...
"!!!"
Cut cut cut cut cut...
In that one swing, thousands of small crescent slashes that shone brightly were formulated and cut the whole undead group into pieces.
'What is this...' Thought Lich while defending himself using barriers from these small crescent slashes which truncated his undead.
The lich continued watching this almost fantasy-like technique inside his barrier while his undead are being cut into pieces in which they couldn't be seen as human form anymore. Rather they most likely turned into ashes.
As he do so, his barrier is gradually being torn apart unnoticed.
Crack crack...
