Chapter 24 - Ended just like that

The arrival of these women caused a major ruckus among these men in the hood except for Flux and the captain.

'Who are these women?' Thought Flux.

'The Devil is here' thought the captain with a frown.

Each people present have different thoughts about them. Nonetheless, these women quickly noticed their presence and decided to ask them.

"Are you people the ones assigned to deliver the products?" The one with orange hair walked near them before asking a question.

The captain tried to avert his eyes from her but as the one in charge, he have to deal with her somehow.

"Yes. I am one of the captains in charge of this task."

"I heard from your subordinates the whole story. So where is the Lich? And..." There was a momentary break from her speech as he glanced around her. "what happened in this place? Judging from your looks, you don't seem to be the person who did this. Did the Lich do this? Also, what was that explosion earlier?"

"Ahh well..."

The way she questions him may put one in distress but that was not the reason why the captain couldn't just tell her the reasons.

'What if I told her the person who created this mess was the kid beside me. Will she believe me?' Thought the captain with a reluctant expression. The sweats in his expression just tell everything. Even his subordinate couldn't tell what happened easily and was left speechless.

Of course, Flux had no reason to tell anything either.

The captain glanced at Flux. His expression is suggesting to tell her the whole story. However, Flux is not that little guy with an honest mood so he just gave him a cold expression.

The captain saw that cold expression of his. He had slight panic after that. The kid is explicitly telling him to stay shut or he's dead. There was no evidence of Flux saying that but the captain understood the meaning behind his expression that he is not supposed to tell anyone what happened here or he's dead.

After seeing what happened to Lich, he got the feeling that the kid right beside him is not joking here. If he can do that to higher levels in just a matter of seconds, then he himself was no different from Lich. Furthermore, the fact is that his strength is nowhere to be seen against the Lich.

If Flux chose to kill him then it will only be done in just a matter of time.

At that moment, the burden on his shoulder got heavier than it was. The captain had already lost his reason to tell her the truth.

However, the person right in front of him could the same as well. As the time passes by without telling her a single thing, he feels a sharp needle is about to pierce him in the eye.

At the same time, he feels a sword is about to strike him and split him in half before he could mutter a word.

'Shit. what am I even doing here.' Thought the captain.

Too much pressure have been placed on him to say anything and his body had begun to freeze.

The woman who noticed his reluctance after glancing at the kid beside him for a moment shifted her eyes towards Flux.

It did not take long for her to notice his yellow eye radiating a little bit of mana. She instantly got interested in it and tried to ask him about his eye.

"You, that eye of yours is that-"

Bang-

However, the sound of a tree being trampled altogether broke and put a halt to her action. She glanced at where the sound was coming from followed by the others who were curious to discern what happens next.

As a person who was about to get asked a particular question, Flux immediately deactivates his spirit eye before covering it with an eye patch.

Her other subordinates grabbed their weapons together but she stopped them by hand signs.

"Stop! I will take care of this."

Hearing that, their weapons were placed back inside their sleeves.

Their attention went back to the source of the commotion.

On the other side of the area, the appearance of a monster made the newcomers frown. The others were calm as though this was just a normal day but they couldn't hide the fact that they were scared to face this monster alone.

He had a large body, a height comparable to an average human, and a skull-looking head. If not for the fact that it has skin, they would mistake it for a monster with a skull head. Additionally, the tremendous amount of dreadful aura coming from him was enough to put anyone on guard. Yet, there was one thing bugging their minds.

'Why does his body is covered in blood?'

It was strange but no one knew why he was in that state. Only those who were present earlier can only answer those but looking at their expression, they don't seem to want to express it.

'Something definitely happened here. I must know what it is.' Thought the woman with orange hair.

Looking back at the monster, she quickly realized this monster and marches forward.

"Who the hell did that!" Shouted the Lich.

The captain in crime did not answer. Instead, he patiently waited there.

"It's not like you live to see the next day anyway." He muttered.

While waiting for an answer to come, he began examining each person on the other side. Seemingly trying to find out who did it.

As he started examining each of them, he found new people standing beside Flux, and not long, he noticed the presence of a person coming toward him.

"Who are you?" He asked out of curiosity.

"My name... You don't need to know that."

"Was it you who shoved me away?"

"...what if I said it was me?"

Everyone clearly knew who did that but they stayed vigilant as they watch the whole scene unfolding silently.

Perhaps, Lich was busy finding out who that person was that he didn't notice her presence until she gets close to him.

There was a subtle yet almost too exaggerated killing intent coming from her. Lich's attention immediately locked on her.

"Who are you?"

"I told you you don't need it."

It was at that moment that the sword hidden behind the Lich was revealed.

"I don't like wasting my time with weaklings." Said Lich as he swung his sword at the same speed whereas Flux was having a hard time dealing with it.

Swish...

Klang...

Reaching the target Flesh, Lich felt like a hard rock had stopped his sword. He glanced at a certain spot and noticed her hand holding the blade.

His face went from too optimistic to surprise, shock, and serious being imprinted on his face simultaneously.

"Nice sword you got here. I can feel mana coming from the underworld" she said through observation.

He tightens his grip over the sword before pulling it with his full strength. Yet strangely, no matter how much strength he expended, he can't seem to pull it out from her grasp.

Without any choice, he summoned his second sword from the other hand and swung it. However, before he realized it, his body unconsciously stiffened.

And then, he found out he was being restricted by several flaming chains. He tried to undo them using his magic but no matter what he does, his power failed to escape within these unshakable chains.

'What the hell are these chains?' Thought Lich as his heart starts beating faster.

She raised her hand. Making her palm looks like a shotgun aiming for the target.

"There's no reason to waste my time on you" she said frigidly.

[Fire magic, Ash Torns]

Her palm lightens up and the same light was implanted on Lich's chest. Soon after, the light began corroding and destroying everything inside his body.

The Lich felt his chest burning in a rapid state. Yet, no matter how much power he exerts to stop it from deteriorating, it didn't stop nor tremble from burning his body. He couldn't think of anything else other than his chest being eaten by something similar to parasites.

"Ahhhhhh!!!"

His scream echoed throughout the whole forest but it seemed like no one heard it since none of the current people present here had tried or lift a finger to save him. Rather, they have fear lingering inside their eyes while watching him scream in pain.

His body gradually turned into ashes. leaving nothing behind nor a single strand of his hair.

"Save me!!!"

Those were the last two words he had before disappearing into nothingness.

It was an unsightly scene to see. Yet, amidst all this, everyone had seen their hopes come true. Only for those who were here from the beginning.
