Chapter 21 - Round 2

Seeing Lich's head cut off, Flux sighed in relief.

"I'd expect it to be a hard battle since the enemy this time is much stronger compared to the last boss monster I killed before but..." Flux stopped mid-way before adding the last sentence. "It's a good thing as well to end this before he could use his full potential."

These were not exaggerated words. Flux caught him off guard in which he was given enough time to kill the Lich in a single blow. If Lich had known the ability of his eye, he would not do something that allows his enemy to kill him.

Needless to say, Flux really got lucky this time.

It was thanks to his past life experience as a gamer that he could pull out something similar to this during the crucial time on the battlefield.

At any rate, everything cannot be done without this sword. If he doesn't have this, the fight has yet to prolong even if he did the exact same thing and no one knows what will happen next.

Then Flux tilted his head in dismay.

"Now that I see his face, he really is an ugly bastard. I thought his whole body is more like a skeleton but now that I see it he's like a human that came out of his own tomb after 10 years. Was it because he absorbed these people that tried to assassinate us?"

Even in one glance, Flux instantly knew what these people wanted here and their purpose and anyone will immediately know too if they're in the same position unless that person is really dumb.

He took a few steps and arrived in front of one of these corpses and began scanning the body.

"Let's see... In the book titled system guide, it is said that items will drop next to their bodies after getting killed by some monsters. However, it is also implied that for people killed by the same races, the items will not drop and will cease to exist."

This was created to prevent people from killing each other. Regardless, this rule was proven useless in some ways over the past years. Murderers began to be more intelligent by holding people hostage and then letting them get killed by monsters easily so that their items will drop.

In the end, whoever created the system must be dumb as well.

"But since the one who killed them was a monster, I assumed that their items are just hiding here."

Flux then inspected their bodies and began taking all valuable items as much as he could.

『You found level 20 Roseglass Sword tier 3』

『You found level 30 Razor Sword tier 2』

『You found level 25 Steel Sword tier 1』

The system began popping up as he take their weapons from their sleeves including other necessary items he needed in his journey.

"These guys sure are fully loaded." Flux said in an appreciative tone.

There were some unneeded items he saw nonetheless, and he concluded to take them all.

The reason is obvious, he gonna sell it for reasonable prices in the market or trade them for necessary stuff.

Some might not necessarily be for him but for others, this item is something they might only get once in a lifetime.

Shortly after taking their items and storing them in the storage, he shifted his eyes towards the Lich corpse and began doubting himself.

'Is this monster not a boss monster? No, I definitely saw the system describing it's an elite-type boss. But where's the chest? Why is it not coming out yet? Was there a problem when I killed him?'

Many speculations started popping up inside Flux's mind. But In the end, he didn't get the right answer.

At this very moment, his instinct is constantly telling him to unsheath his sword now.

And without a doubt, Flux directly draws his katana with no hesitancy.

Unsheathed──

He then walked towards the corpse. His grip over the sword tightened. It sounds too exaggerated but Flux could feel that something will happen the moment he arrived there.

When he arrived in front of the corpse, it was when...

Swoooshhhh!!!

"!!!"

The sound of wind reverberating through the imperceptible forest as if something is about to come puts Flux on high alert.

Dashed──

Seeing what was heading toward him, Flux quickly took a step back. And by the time he left his spot...

Bang──

Flux heard this rough sound as if something big just slammed the ground from his previous spot.

At this time, Flux just landed on the ground a few meters away from this new unknown enemy.

The place was so dark and almost indistinguishable and Flux couldn't exactly tell what this is. It's too far to say this is coming from an ally as well.

The silhouette of this monsters helped Flux to sort things out.

It has a large and monstrous body of about 7 meters, two horns, and two gigantic hammers in both hands.

Certainly, this is not something a human caliber could have.

And the silhouette of this monster is undoubtedly telling it's akin to that of a bull.

Flux thought. 'What is this, a human bull?'

Nevertheless, it did not take long for Flux to recognize this monster.

"I see... So you finally came out huh?"

The minautor did not respond, rather, he averted his eyes from him and glanced at the head before holding it as if he were about to eat the whole head.

And Flux's doubts did not put him in dismay, the minautor instantly swallowed the head as a whole.

Slowly but surely. The Lich head went inside his stomach.

Gulped.

It's too horrifying to see this up close.

Any normal person would vomit and be sickened after seeing this.

The reason is obvious. the horrific scenes which unfolded right here are scenes that only from horror movie often appears. much more if it happened in the reality.

Without a doubt, anyone from his previous life would definitely run away before they could see the whole scene.

Even though Flux doesn't care what he does while constantly observing him at the same time, Flux still found this a little bit disgusting and horrifying at the same time. If this is about to take place in his previous world, he would run away as if his life is on the line. But since this is a world where logic cannot be comprehended sometimes, Flux had nothing to fear about if he had the strength to fight for himself.

It was then that the realization struck his head like a thunderbolt.

Flux grips his katana harder than before as if his anger is about burst out.

Just what did he wait there for?

then he muttered... "Flash step"

『Technique Deployment, Eternal Moonlight』

Flux, in just one second, arrived in front of the undead minautor before swinging his katana incessantly.

Hundreds of large and small revolving crescent slashes were solidified through swinging his sword embedded with mana.

The range is vast either. It could kill monsters at a distance but Flux made his decision to use this technique point-blank just to make sure.

Cut cut cut cut...

The sound of things being cut instantly may put anyone in the same situation at ease but Flux was different, he knew that those things that were cut were nothing but the trees behind which were sliced by his technique accidentally.

Regardless, Flux assumed that his techniques got him in some ways, not that he killed him with that but surely it severely damaged some part of the minautor body.

Albeit the technique was used in one spot, Flux made sure to swing his sword in some designated spot where the minautor could use it as an escape route.

-Why be so hasty in ending this fight?

!!!

Flux's eyes widened.

The dreadful yet remorseful voice coming from behind him resounded inside his ears.

Perhaps, because he was too stunned, he slowly turned his eyes behind him and before long, he saw the undead minautor.

His whole body is bleeding. Some parts were severely cut, and if not, were badly injured.

He know and definitely felt that something on him changed.

The dark aura that envelops his body before became, even more, darker, stronger, and horrendous. Plus, the voice that came out earlier was almost no, it was deliberately delivered by a familiar voice.

However, Flux's eyes were filled with certainty.

Now that he knows the minautor escaped within the palm of his hand, Flux hastily changes his stance into that of a combat stance.

His figure instantly disappeared as soon as he fixed his stance and appeared right in front of the minautor.

His katana was swung at its maximum speed and before anyone could notice, the edge of the blade had reached the smallest gap whereas the blade is about to cut down the opponent's neck.

He aimed for his head for a one-hit delete.

Flux could feel that the gap between their strength in which he could still fight had become immeasurably higher.

Therefore, Flux had no other choice but to aim for the body parts where he could inflict a critical strike.

Not too exaggerated but with his sword, the anticipated outcome might succeed.

It was only then that the body of the minautor changed instantly.

"!!!"

Slash...

Klang...

Splurt-

Flux, who was about to cut his opponent's head, had his shoulder bleed instead.

It was a slight cut but from the reaction of Flux, it was as if his life just got taken away from him.

'That wasn't a mere fluke. I definitely saw it.' Thought Flux as if something big was placed on his shoulder to feel this tremendous amount of pressure.

It wasn't clear about what he saw but...

Flux turned his head and said in an admiration tone. "What a flashy way of reviving yourself. So there's a round two in this fight huh...!"

The Lich smirked as if he accepted his admiration. "You too... To block that attack with the amount of speed amplified on it, was too unbelievable to hear from someone if I didn't see it myself."
