It was such a one-sided victory. The boss monster couldn't even put a more befitting fight as a boss monster.
And in front of his corpse which is scattered all over the place was Flux standing highly of himself completely showing his dominance against the monsters in this field.
A warm light coming from the sun descends on Flux.
It was kinda flashy but he did not mind. No person had seen the fight here.
"Now what to do?"
While thinking about what to do next, the system notification rang which broke the silence in the area.
『You earned a total of 950 experience』
『You earned 500 golds』
『Name: Flux Arcadia』
『Health: 250/290』
『Level: 8』
『Experience: 2171/2710』
『Class: Weapon Master/1 star』
『Mana: 400/2000』
『Title: Error』
『Money: 5080』
『Store』 『Trade/Auction』
『Weapon Storage』 『Item Storage』
Flux who was just thinking some things was displeased. It felt as if the reasons that are motivating him were struck by lightning and turned into ashes.
'I didn't level up?'
If that was the case, I should've just killed this guy in one second.
Flux doesn't seem to be lying inside his thoughts. There's a book that contains how much a single monster would give you, had he read this book before, he would've ended the fight in less than a second. For that reason, his time wouldn't have been wasted.
He can with his unique weapon.
Mindless people tend to waste their time playing with weak foes, but that doesn't involve the people like Flux. Ending the fight earlier on would of course give you more time to do other things rather than wasting your time on frivolous stuff.
Flux sighed. "Well, we couldn't change the things that had been done in the past unless you have the power to regress."
For now, what he can do is go to the village. However, given that there is still some time to level up, staying up here for a bit seems not bad either.
At the very least, we can tell Flux had got no time to be slacking off here. Every second is precious. If he wants to reach his former level albeit it's just a game, he had to slay monsters each second day and night. But that would be impossible, that's why after thorough thinking, it's highly likely that it take some time to return to his former glory.
But then, something strange emerges out of the boss monster's body. It shone brightly and took the spotlight from Flux.
At first, it was just a light that shone brightly amidst the dead, but when it'll gradually fade away, a wooden chest became evident.
Had it not been for the knowledge he gained through reading books, Flux may not have been in such a good mood and mistook it for an enemy attack.
『You obtained a wooden chest』
In this world, each time you killed a boss monster, there is always a chest that would always appears from their body.
There are four types of chests.
The first one is a wooden chest. The types of weapons you get from opening this wooden chest are mostly tier-one weapons. It has 80% getting tier one, 20% uncommon, and 0.1% for rare.
Too low compared to the other three chests.
The second is a silver chest. Common 60%, uncommon 30%, rare 8%, and, epic 2%.
The third is a gold chest. Common 50% uncommon 30%, rare 13%, epic 5%, and legendary 2%.
Lastly, the most rarest chest that stands out amongst the other three is the diamond chest. 100% legendary.
Just looking at the stats alone makes this chest superior to the other three. The chance of getting legendary weapons is almost close to a miracle but this chest made the record of being the highest, made the impossible possible, and almost trampled the other three into nothingness in the eyes of people.
People who had received this chest became wealthy and stronger because of the reward behind it.
Unfortunately, the odds of receiving this chest is more harder than receiving a legendary weapon. So basically it's all the same.
But that doesn't mean being useless. Every legendary weapon which you can only receive from killing overlord monsters that hadn't yet made an appearance is inside that chest.
In better words, the weapons inside are random.
Throughout the entire research of people in the past, it is said that the items you can get from each boss monster are very limited. Because of that, more people started to kill the same kind of boss monster to gather more information about the item drop.
The process is relatively tough, not because of killing the same boss monster but because having to find a similar monster itself is very rough and difficult to do.
For that reason, roughly 90% of monster bosses drop items around the world hadn't been discovered yet.
But that got nothing to do with this, Flux had already known what he is about to receive here whether it be uncommon, common, or rare, and had a moody expression on his face nonetheless.
No matter what tier it is, lucrative items will remain lucrative.
『Would you like to open the box?』
『Yes or No』
As such, Flux wasted no time and promptly tapped yes.
After doing so, the chest deliberately opened itself, and a certain item came to light.
『You obtained Guard Platemail tier 3/rare armor』
"..."
It was both too exaggerated and unforeseen at the same time, Flux was surprised a bit.
The chest floating in the air gradually disappeared.
Once the chest was opened, the item inside will automatically transfer to the system storage. Flux opened his storage and pressed the item to see the level and perks.
This armor is made out of steel that protects the upper part of the body and two vambraces on each hand as well as greaves protecting the lower part of the limb.
『Guard Platemail』
『Type: tier 3/rare』
『Level: 21』
『Armor: 300』
『Health: 3000』
『Upgrade:0/4』
『Perk 1: Bonus Health Regen 5%』『Perk 2: Bonus movement speed 4%』
『Can only use this armor when your level reached half of this armor level or having a level higher than the item』
"So in other words, this armor is only vulnerable when I reached level 11. That's pretty understandable. But... This item looks pretty normal to me to be called a rare item. Was the given status the reason for this?" Flux pondered for a moment but then decided to not think too much about it.
"For now let's start hunting again"
***
Pant* pant* pant*
Flux was standing amidst the hundreds of monster corpses around him with his head looking above gasping for breath.
『You earned a total of 18,145 accumulative experience 』
『You earned 9,690 gold and additional 1000 golds for killing hundreds of monsters』
『You leveled up 5』
『Name: Flux Arcadia』
『Health: 3400/3500』
『Level: 13』
『Experience: 2406/6310』
『Class: Weapon Master/1 star』
『Mana: 10/2700』
『Title: Error』
『Gold: 15,770』
『Store』 『Trade/Auction』
『Weapon Storage』 『Item Storage』
These messages resounded inside the forest but Flux seemed to not care about this. Then he muttered...
『Technique Deployment, Symphony Breath』
After saying that, his breathing has begun to come back to its original state.
"Ha... Ha... Ha... Finally"
Flux said this as though he had finally remembered this technique and used this to overcome this situation after running out of stamina.
"Thanks to the armor killing monsters with levels up ahead of me had become quite easier and made me nothing to worry about other situations."
It seemed that Flux had used this armor after reaching the required level to use it.
But even having said so, it doesn't seem like he had problems during his battles against monsters excluding not wasting his reserved stamina and mana to prepare for an emergency as before in which a boss monster appeared out of nowhere in the forest.
Nevertheless, it all ended up being fruitless as he decided to use all his stamina and mana against these hundreds of monsters laying down on the ground lifeless. Had it not been for that, another wave of monsters might come here if the battle were prolonged and that would make the chance of a monster boss appearing become higher or maybe even unavoidable.
Albeit most of these monsters were low-level, it was still a pretty tiring battle even for Flux considering that he had to fight hundreds of monsters with his current self being level 8 at the start.
"I had to go now. With my current status, fighting any longer would only mean death for me."
Flux immediately left the place to head to the small village he had found earlier.
Upon doing so, the place was left with dead monsters, a huge crater, split trees, and sword marks inscribed on the ground.
Later on, Flux arrived at the gate of the village after walking for half an hour.
Although he had arrived after 30 minutes, this wasn't a problem for him as preserving his stamina and mana is more essential than this in order to survive the upcoming uncertainties.
But... Is the village he thought of really a village? There are indeed more people here, but the houses are too small in number. Instead, calling this a small or newly created village is more befitting at this moment.
The scene up ahead is like a farmer's place because almost all the people here are wearing farmers' clothing making this place look like a farmer's region.
Anyhow, Flux saw some hunters picking up a quest on the board.
Flux had so much doubt because the name of the village does not fit at all. Nonetheless, he decided to question an old man he saw nearby.
As he steps ahead, Flux began to speak. "Hello, can I ask you a question?"
"Uh, what is it, kid?"
"Perhaps, is this village called mist village?" da
"No kid, you got it wrong. This newly created village was created under the emperor's order to aid us, farmers, by giving us land to survive from strong monsters. Albeit it has still monsters lurking around here, they weren't that strong compared to our previous location. In addition, these new hunters are always coming here to hunt them up. With that, we don't have to worry about monsters invasion"
'By saying new hunters, does he mean those kids? Anyway, not like I care about your history but what he said wasn't wrong either. Plus what does he mean by got nothing to worry about monsters? Those guys that were killed by me half an hour ago could literally obliterate this whole village in a second'
"If you want to form a party member, or take some quest here, you can go and check those boards there and send them-"
His words were cut by Flux.
"So where is the mist village?"
"Uh, uh... I think you need to take a carriage over there" he pointed his finger to a certain spot. Startled by the sudden question.
After all, Flux had got nothing to do with this village.
"Also, if you want to ride the carriage now, it would take you there exactly at midnight. I think it'll be a wise choice to stay here at the moment until tomorrow for a kid like you"
That was indeed a wise answer, the sun is starting to set, but that's not the reason to stop him here.
Flux nodded in understanding. "Yes I will keep that in mind"
That was obviously a lie.
Then, he promptly went to where the old man pointed his finger.
"Tch, kids these days don't know how to take the old man's advice."
Arriving next to the carriage, Flux started questioning the man sitting at the front.
"Hello, are you available right now?"
"Uh, well, currently I have a place I need to go. And that place is called mist village."
he seemed to be nervous judging by the way he speaks.
"Wait really? That's the place where I'm heading at?"
"But..."
The man in question began to ponder.
"Is there any problem here?"
A man walked up beside them.
"Captain! No, there's nothing wrong around here. It's just... This kid wants to come with us."
"Hmm" he glanced in Flux's direction.
"Are you sure? This isn't just a trip though. We have to send these goods to the mist village and surely the danger behind this quest is not something a kid like you can take. There is probably a chance that some people will assassinate us while delivering them judging by the village's reputation"
'by saying goods, does he mean those wrapped vegetables inside the carriage, and what about the village reputation?'
"so, are you still going with us?"
"...Yeah, I know, but don't underestimate me, I'm more reliable than you think. Also, I'm not here to take the quest with you, I have my reason to come to that village so there's no need to be so skeptical because I'm not here for the reward. Plus, isn't it better to have an additional member?"
"..."
"If what you said is true, then you are certainly allowed to go with us. However... Don't blame us if anything happened to you during the trip."
"I'm fine with that." Flux nodded.
"I see, if you have any luggage with you take them as soon as possible and place them inside the carriage, we are departing soon, as well as pay the owner since you said you're not partaking the quest."
"Yes I go with that"
"I will explain this to other members just for precautions"
The captain In charge quickly left the spot after saying that to explain it to other members of the party.
Flux saw no problem with it.
"~~~~~"
"~~~~~"
Flux did not leave his gaze on them even after seeing them looking at him while chatting. Only did they finish chatting had he removed his eyes from them.
"Here is the payment" Flux paid the owner and sat inside the carriage.
