Chapter 41 - Mysterious Visitors

Druak eyes slowly crept open only to be quickly shut due to the blinding light which he saw. Druak was confused at first as he knew he definitely wasn't in the forest which he had passed out in. Slowly his vision became less and less blurry eventually allowing him to see what was around him . It soon became clear to Druak that he was now within the medical care room.

After looking around some more Druak notices two familiar faces. One of them was the ice mage girl who helped rescue him and the other was Isacc, his best friend.

Both of them seemed to be fast asleep.

Not wanting to disturb them, Druak slowly got out of his bed which he had been lying on. However he quickly realised something was off and soon stopped what he was doing as he realised that he was only wearing boxers.

"Mmmhh." The sound of someone waking up suddenly entered Druak ears.

Turning around he was met with the eyes of the ice mage. Within a matter of seconds her face turned bright red and she shouted."Put on some damn clothes you idiot." And quickly turned around.

Slightly embarrassed Druak quickly began to put the only clothes he could on, which was a academy uniform on the side of his bed.

As Druak put on the uniform he soon noticed something strange, turning around he asked." Aren't these student uniforms and not applicant uniforms. Are these meant for me."

Slightly annoyed, she responded."Yeah. After the whole orc incident the leading teacher said that you automatically pass for your achievement in stalling the orcs. They even gave you and me academy points for finding them, although you got a lot more points than me."

She began to pout at the end of her explanation, which Druak just laughed at as he realised she was mainly annoyed about getting fewer points than him. Seeing Druak laughing she got even more annoyed, to the point she started punching his shoulder.

This was stopped however by the heavy sleeper that slept past all of their previous fighting.

With a slightly croaky voice, Isacc asked."Druak you're ok. You worried the hell out of me."

Druak looked at Isacc who had just woken up and was already covered in tears.

This was a side of Isacc Druak didn't often, as Isacc usually liked to play pranks on people. But when it came to the people Isacc cared for he would get very emotional.

Isacc looked straight at Druak as his tears slowly stopped, then without warning suddenly threw a punch straight at Druaks face, colliding straight into Druak.

The ice mage's expression turned to shock." What the hell, I thought you two were friends."

Ignoring her Isaccs expression began to scrunch up in anger and Isacc suddenly burst."What the hell have you been doing, when I came to see you your entire body was covered in scars and you looked like you were about to die." Isacc continued on but his expression slowly became softer and softer.

Druaks expression dropped as he watched his best friend worry for him.

Isacc had finally stopped and paused then asked."If you're ever in danger again don't you dare leave me behind. You hear me."

Druak couldn't respond.

'I'm sorry Isacc but I can't do that. I can't let you die as you did in my past life. I can't put you through what you did in my past life… Not again.'

Isacc looked at Druak and because of how long they had known each other he instantly knew that Druak wouldn't do what he asked, so he punched Druak on the shoulder and said."If you don't tell me, I'll still find a way. Even if you decide to descend to hell itself. You've saved my life more than enough, let me at least save yours as well."

Druak saw the determination in Isaac's eyes as he slowly got up and left the room.

'Damn it Isacc. Why do you always have to act like this. It's what got you killed last time.'

As he watched Isacc leave Druak recalled one of his worst memories at that moment. It was the day his best friend died… The day he never wanted to happen again.

It was the day that the Rose kingdom and the Argonaut kingdom began one of the greatest wars in history which involved all the kingdoms on the great continent of Ishtar.

Druak looked at the back of Isacc as he thought. 'I won't let you die this time, even if it means you end up hating me.'

After Isacc left Druak and the ice mage were rather quiet but eventually continued talking and Druak had even managed to persuade her to tell him her name.

"So you're called Sirah. What a beautiful name."

After hearing, Druak say those words, the usually outgoing Sirah became much more bashful and ended up quickly leaving Druak to himself.

"Sorr. Sorry, forgot I have something to do, see you later and hope you get better soon."

The door shut and Druak was once again alone. Laying down Druak let out a sigh and said."Can finally relax, the past few days have been way too stressful. Hopefully, it's not this bad when the actual academy year starts."

Closing his eyes Druak once again fell asleep. It was already dark out so almost everyone else was also asleep.

However, there was one particular individual that had been waiting patiently for Druak to fall asleep. As Druak lay in his bed a figure was busy watching him, waiting for the perfect time to move. It seemed as though this figure found this chance as it soon began to widen the crack in the door.

Slowly opening the door a glistening object could be seen in the individual's hand, but almost instantly after the door was opened an enormous bolt of lightning struck straight at the intruder's arm, causing their flesh to burn and leave a gruesome mark on their arm.

Noticing an incredibly intense aura the intruder quickly ran away as they're muffled voice said."Damn it. It looks like I can't deal with him with academy security."

Despite the loud sound of lightning Druak didn't seem to react, almost as if something had stopped the sound from reaching him.

Not long after the intruder had disappeared another two individuals appeared within Druaks room. They had entered through a mysterious circle, which had small bolts of purple light frequently flashing out.

Suddenly appearing in the middle of Druaks room was a man Druak recognised as Ronald Heart, one of the teachers that were involved in the entrance exams.

Not long after another man entered Druaks room, this man looked incredibly refined, wearing a white suit with golden trim and luscious golden hair which reach his shoulders. He also had a well kempt beard.

Despite the blonde-haired man looking of a much higher status than Ronald heart, it was still him that bowed before Richard Heart.

Putting one hand to his chest and kneeling down the blonde man spoke."My liege. The great Griffon of the Argonaut Kingdom. I greet thee."

Once the blonde-haired man spoke those words he looked toward Richard Heart, as if for confirmation, and it seemed he had gotten it as Richard Heart put his hand out and slowly raised it. Following this, the blonde-haired man slowly rose to his feet and stood alongside Richard Heart.

The atmosphere around the both of them was incredibly tense and the silence only made this worse. However, it seemed to vanish almost instantly as Ronald heart spoke."This boy continues to interest me. First with his incredible tactic in the team battle test and now with the orcs. He surpasses many children his age in terms of tactics and battle awareness. It's almost as if he's experienced war for almost 10 years."

"Yes, my liege it's quite fascinating. But from what I understand he's merely a peasant's son, he doesn't have a drop of noble blood within h…"

The blonde-haired man abruptly stopped, dropping straight to the floor. An incredibly intense force enveloping him."My liege, I… I beg of you, please…. spare me."

Gradually the force surrounding the blonde-haired man subsided."Despite being a president of such a prestigious school you still have such prejudice. You need to learn that no matter your origins all man has a chance at power… If they have the will to grasp it." Ronald let out a short sigh." I shall task you with protecting this boy. I'm interested to see how he grows and it might teach you a thing or two in the process… Make sure not to interfere unless absolutely necessary."

The president looked as if he was about to object but quickly stopped after looking at the cracks which had formed in the ground."Yes, my liege. As you will it."

Once they finished speaking the portal once again opened Richard Heart looked towards Druak and a purple glint appeared in his eyes, then he walked through the portal and Druak was once again alone. As they left strange energy left with them and the sound of the birds chirping had now returned to Druaks room along with any other noises which could not enter before.
