Chapter 11 - The Gold Clad Knights

An enormous greatsword slammed directionally in front of Druak's hand, just missing him by an inch.

As the being possessing Druak looks up he sees the face of the person that threw the greatsword in between him and the villager.

[SABUS!!!!]

The roar reverberated throughout the battlefield, echoing within the knight's eardrums.

"How do you know my name, you scum!" Sabus declared with a menacing tone.

But no answer came from Druak's possessed body, only faint laughter.

"What are you laughing at, answer my QUESTION." Sabus began losing his temper as he swung his greatsword straight at Druaks stomach.

The blade was heading straight for him and was only inches away then it just.... stopped.

Between the two edges of the blade were two fingers that seemed to stop the blade without any effort whatsoever.

[So this is what you were like back then, pathetic]

Sabus had lost his temper and went into a blind rage, charging straight for Druak.

Just as Sabus was about to strike Druak a loud rumbling could be heard from beneath the ground he stood on.

"Idiot, what are you doing losing your control in the middle of a battlefield." A large man with a grey beard yelled as he grabbed Sabus and pulled him back just in time.

*Crack* The ground caved in and out of it shot out an enormous skeletal serpent. It began to sliver around Druak guarding him against any harm.

Another tremor occurred not long after. This tremor was caused by an enormous army of skeletons and another serpent. These skeletal beings were pouring out of the hole in the ground like an enormous wave.

[Take care of those filth while I finish off the ritual]

The ominous voice of Druak's possessed body seemed to send shivers down some of the knights as they began to step further away from the villagers they were trying to save.

The serpent simply bowed its head before charging straight towards Sabus and the Greyhound.

Druaks body began to walk away from the conflict and was about to continue with the ritual when a sudden noise caught his attention.

*Bang* The serpent seemed to impact something but not long after another sound could be heard.*Crack* The entire skull of the serpent was smashed to smithereens as if it was nothing.

Its limp body falling before Greyhound's feet.

"Is that the best you've got." Greyhound asked as he dusted off the bones left on his hands.

[INTERESTING, I don't remember seeing you before.]

"Really, I'm quite well known around here, so I take it you're from another kingdom then"Greyhound crunched his knuckle, slowly approaching Druaks body.

"You going to make this boring and come with us peacefully or are you going to make this a bit more interesting." He begins to pick up the giant serpent by its tail and swing it over his shoulders.*Thud* A small dust cloud appears behind Greyhound.

The possessed Druak begins casting a spell, bones slowly forming into a bone spear that heads straight at Greyhound's heads.

However, before the spear could even reach Greyhound he had already disappeared along with the serpent bones in his hands.

*Bang*

An enormous cloud of smoke covered the battlefield in an instant.

While the battle with Druaks body was going on the rest of the knights were busy battling all of the skeletons that had been created.

There were 3 gold-clad knights assisting the ordinary knights.

"Stay in formation, they outnumber us so make sure not to lose focus."One of the knights said as he swung his sword shattering 5 skeleton skulls in a row.

"These skeletons are much stronger than any I've ever faced. What do you think caused them to be so strong Brayhum. I'm worried about the other knights." Another gold-clad knight asked a much larger knight.

"It doesn't matter, stop being a wimp and just attack them, they are only 2nd stage at best."Brayhum responded as his black long hair flew past over a dozen skeletons and severed their skulls from their bodies.

Whilst the lower rank knights and 3 gold-clad knights dealt with the skeletons the remaining 5 gold-clad knights were left to deal with the second skeleton serpent.

Just as they surrounded the serpent a loud noise echoed throughout the battlefield.

*Bang

A loud noise resounded only a few feet away from them.

Despite all the chaos on the battlefield they still managed to stop to see what the noise was.

*Swoosh* Druaks body flew straight past all the chaos.

"That's our boss alright." A man with a giant fire bear on his back said as he crushed the skull of one of the skeletons that charged at him.

*Bang* Druaks body slammed straight into the side of a large boulder, causing it to crumble to pieces.

As the dust began to settle the black mist which covered Druaks body began to swirl around him, slowly compressing into one spot to cast a devastating spell.

"You're a lot tougher than I thought you'd be, I'll give you that." Before Druak could even set off the spell Greyhound was already behind him.

*Bang* Druak grunted in pain as a fist slammed right into his stomach.

*Bang*Before he could even react another punch hit him right in the jaw.

"Damn your resilient. That's good, I haven't had a good warm-up in a while and I think you deserve to pay for what you've done."Greyhound began to shake his arms as if warming them up. He seemed to be playing around with Druak.

The creature possessing Druak knew he couldn't win as its mist armour l was beginning to show signs of weakening.

So it did what it believed would be the most effective thing to do.

[I SEE, SO YOU'RE ONLY HERE TO HELP THOSE PATHETIC MEAT SACKS. DON'T WORRY I'LL GET RID OF THEM FOR YOU]

Dozens of bone spears began to appear in the sky. Then without scrutiny, they launched themselves directly at the villagers killing over a dozen of them.

The ones that lived were screaming in agony begging for the pain to end.

The ominous laughter escaped his mouth as he watched the despair in the villagers' eyes.

"My duty is to this kingdom and you must live to pay for your crimes. However, that doesn't mean I can't break a few body parts in the process." Greyhound seemed furious, his face scrunched up as he looked at the villagers' dead bodies.

The sound of constant punches continued and the mist around Druaks body was beginning to fade.

Greyhound slammed his fist down once again but for some reason, the figure laying on the ground had a massive grin on his face that he couldn't be seen.

*Crack* Almost as if an earthquake had occurred an enormous crack directly opened where Greyhound struck. Mountains shattered, the ritual site was in complete ruins and a massive cloud of smoke covered the entire battlefield.

As the dust began to clear and Greyhound could see where he had struck he noticed there was nothing but a ginormous crack, not even a drop of blood could be seen.

"Damn it, I was too confident. He must have cast a powerful blink spell, I thought he was far too weak for that."Greyhound was furious at himself. He had let his guard down after detecting the dark sorcerer wasn't much of a threat.

This had caused him to act too calmly and his guard down. Allowing a serial murderer to roam free.

"Make sure everyone is safe and make sure that all the living villagers are transported safely to their new homes"Greyhound went straight back to his duties as a Knight. He knew that would have to deal with his announcement at a later time, for now, the villagers took priority.

"Yes boss, Brayhum has the report and casualties of the battlefield." The young knight said as he walked off to assist the villagers that remained.

"Brayhum what are the casualties after this incident." Greyhound asked in a gravelly voice.

Breyhum simply gave the report to Greyhound as he slouched his shoulders. He then proceeded to bow and walk away from Greyhound.

Greyhound scrunched up the piece of paper and slammed it on the floor."Damn those nobles, not even a single one of their men were sent."

A few miles from the knights lay the body of Druak along with a black skeleton.

[I WAS ONLY STRUCK BY THE SHOCKWAVE AND ALMOST DIED, WHAT TROUBLESOME FOES I'LL HAVE TO DEAL WITH]

Laying on the ground Druak's body was covered in wounds that were bleeding profusely but the main wound was a large hole in his chest that seemed to go straight to his bone.
