Chapter 28 - What was he?

His hands moved before he could stop them. One pulled her closer and the other went to the back of her neck in a soft hold and tilted her head up.

She met his gaze under the moonlight and he had to say that he was captivated as she held his gaze. She did not protest or anything and he waited in case she will have to make him fight a battle again with her snakes.

She moved closer and a warm softness pressed against his lips. He was not expecting that especially when she had planned to kill him at first.

All rational thought was thrown out of his mind as his hand left her wrist to her waist. Wow. It was soft and soft under his hand.

I pressed closer as he could feel the heat from her lips transfer to his body. She pulled away the moment he tried to gain access to her lips.

"I don't . . ." she began shaking her head and released herself from his hold.

He swallowed and raised his hand to show her he had no intention to force. He has been living like a monk for so long and as much as it looked like he could not hold back at this moment, he was a gentleman and would not force a woman.

If she was not willing then I might have to wait until he finds someone else. He was also not surprised because it looked like he had traveled four centuries into the past and women were known to be very reserved them.

If she did not want to then he will leave. Such an old-fashioned girl would probably kill the man who dares to rape her. It will be some serious crime against her and his principles.

He could go to jail in his last life too. He hated her so much at his point for tempting him even at this moment with her exposed bosom and all. What he wanted to do most at that moment was left.

"I am sorry," he apologized to her even though he had not kissed her first. She kissed him for goodness' sake. Argh.

"No," she suddenly told him shaking her head as she caught his wrist. "I felt something. It was nice," she confessed and it was not hard for him to notice her blush.

What the heck was she trying to say? If she wanted it then fine if not, she has to let him go. He has never been in such a situation all his life.

He could easily guess that she was a virgin with what she said about feeling something. He was not sure if he could handle one at the moment or bear the guilt of being her first man when he was not ready to be with her.

"I got to go," he told her as he wriggled her grip on his wrist. He wanted to leave that place as first as he could. That was very tempting and yet so dangerous to indulge in.

"No," she caught his wrist again and he was confused.

"What do you want?" he asked with a deep frown and his voice deepening as he was holding back from screaming at her.

"The way you touched my waist . . ." she began looking at him hopefully but turned away and bit her lower lips bashfully. "I felt something nice. I want to feel more of it," she replied.

"You were about to kill me but you want me to make you feel something nice?" he scoffed. At the moment, he wanted to return to his guards as soon as possible as he could not trust a thing she was saying.

It won't be nice to kill a woman he just slept with because she attempted to take his life after it all.

He removed her grip on his hand and hurried off. Good thing she did not stop him or he would have reacted impulsively and it won't be a good reaction at all.

His guards were looking for him when he arrived. He did not say a word to them before going to where he was to sleep and laying down.

She called him a monster not directly but that had him thinking almost throughout the night. What if she was right?

He has never used a sword in his past. If he was a fencer or some sort of Olympic medal-winning athlete then he might have felt it was normal but it was not normal.

The hours he spent in the gym could not make him handle his swords the way he did. He paused and rolled uncomfortably.

The reddened vision, the inhuman strength, and many more he discovered but still felt confused about.

His vision got tinted when he was in the water perhaps that was the monster she was talking about. He wished there was a mirror close by.

There were a lot of things he will have to carefully investigate about this body before anyone finds out.

Hearing a stranger tells him about the body he had occupied for over a month did not feel good to hear.

The journey continued and Liam was very solemn and thoughtful throughout the journey. His knight could not keep watching without saying anything.

The prince had gone through the past two days without saying more than five words in a day.

When he even dared to tease the prince as he does in the past before he say the bloodbath in the prince's room, the prince only glanced at him for less than a second before looking away.

That got him scared and he shut his mouth up for a few hours until he could not stand the heavy silence anymore.

"Is there anything bothering you, your highness?" He asked carefully as he did not want to be the next carcass lying at the feet of the prince.

Liam moved his gaze lazily to his guards and shook his head. "Nothing," he replied monotonously.

Who won't be of a heavy heart when he saw for himself what sort of body he had occupied. He would have chosen to be a pauper than the prince he was forced to be.
