These words were his sincere prayer requests.
As much as Liam tried not to dwell too much on the thoughts of his unknown wife, that was a major disturbance on his mind. Why does fate have to be so cruel to make him a married man?
They stole his youth without consent. He was only twenty when he died but he was made to lose three happy youthful years to this crazy world.
That was fine as it never bothered him but what gave them the right to make him married? He has not had enough hookups and fun to be tied to a woman.
He was not like most of his friends who swore they would never marry but he was not getting married until he was probably turning forty when he has had enough fun making those twenty years earlier than planned has to be a crime but who should get punished for the crime done against him?
"You don't look too good," Alessia whispered as her fingers traced his sharp jawline.
He caught her finger and held it as he met her gaze straight-faced to indicate his seriousness. "You knew I was married but you seduced me?" he asked her seriously as his curiosity was getting the best of him. He was beginning to doubt the idea of her being an ally.
She shook her head and looked away and he could not miss the sadness in her eyes as she looked away. "Are you playing with me?" she murmured with her voice cracking a little.
"No," he replied immediately. "What about you? are you playing with me?"
She shook her head firmly as she sat down and pulled her hand from his grip. "I cannot take this anymore. Did you lose your memory or do you want to completely forget our past but you should know more than anyone that the past cannot and must not be forgotten?"
Liam froze as he met her gaze. She looked away the moment he noticed the wetness of her eyes and furrowed his brow slightly.
Luck was very bad for him. If the universe was determined to place him in such a strange world, he might as well give him so memories or at least a manual.
It was like a complete amateur trying to play a video game without reading the instructions. He felt so confused as he could not answer her. His lips parted to speak but he pressed them to form a thin line.
"You lost your memory?" she asked again and it was his turn to sit down. "My brother was your best friend. He trusted you more than he trusted his twin sister," she accused bitterly.
If there was anything Liam prided himself in, it was his loyalty to his friends and those he cared for even when faced with something that could hurt him.
That was he kept very great people around him as friends because they knew they could trust him the moment they become a part of his circle of friends.
He furrowed his brow disliking the look she gave him like he was the worse choice of a friend in the world. "You are not accusing me of betraying your brother? Right?" he asked feeling angry with the prince for the beautiful sad lady before him.
She shook her head and smiled before meeting his gaze. "It is fine. You think I am an ally, right? Just trust that I will not betray you as I will not get any benefit for doing so. If I ever attempt to do that, your wife will come for my head."
He knew she was hiding something behind those smiles but if she was coming to the capital with him, he would not mind ignoring it at all as far as she does not try to harm and if he does, he would not hesitate to kill her and crazy snakes.
"You know my wife?" he asked as he pulled her closer and held her chin before lifting her head to meet his gaze.
"She was a friend," she replied calmly as she bit her lower lips seductively.
He smiled welcoming as he pressed his lips on those enticingly pink lips. She parted her lips giving his tongue easy access and their tongues twirled and danced in the sweet warm slick wetness of each other's mouth.
She moaned when his hand pressed one of those firm yet soft twins. He squeezed and she moaned loudly. He froze and listened when he felt his hair rose. He looked down at her flushed appearance as she met his gaze hungrily. She was certainly not the danger.
He groaned angrily as he got down from the bed and picked his swords thankful to that feeling of compulsion that had him bringing his swords to a woman's room for sex.
He had felt it was a very stupid idea but he has grown to trust his intuitions now more than in his past life. He unsheathes them as he listened to the fast-approaching footsteps.
He could not detect the direction they were coming from and that must be because they were coming from all directions fast yet more silent than normal.
It had taken a lot of effort to go back in time to the time of swordsmen and masters he only got to read about in novels and watched in anime.
After several guesses of what those enemies of magic could be, he was forced to conclude that the magicians must have concluded that technology was their enemy.
He believed he would have been killed ten times over if those assassinations had come to him with guns and not swords.
He was sincerely grateful that they were foolish enough to give up on technology but he had to give them kudos for their sword abilities.
"You should hide," he told her firmly as he took an attack stance expecting them to come from the door and the window.
He was still yet to understand how it all worked but he was sure there were more than a dozen of them and they were stronger as their footsteps were lighter than all those men he had fought in the past.
When they first appeared from the window, he could immediately conclude that they were women from the slender shape clad in black and dark red.
Their faces were covered and he was not even allowed to see their eyes. Women should seriously give a break. From the cold sweat on his brow, he knew he was not going to be dealing with some pool dancers but bloodily heartless assassinators who came for his life.
He looked at Alessia, she was not hiding as he expected her to but she had her arms wrapped with snakes that he never knew were so close by.
They hissed aloud. They were not as large as those snakes he had to deal with the night we met in the water but they were black devilish looking cobras you should fear.
He swallowed. Now, she was looking really hot with the stance she took before she nodded encouragingly.
She will have to be the first person he will get to fight alongside in this world and it was the most pleasant feeling he have felt. Remember my guard ran away the last time he had to fight for my life.
