Chapter 4 - Her opposite personality

"Stop the car." Amby said shivering slightly, looking all cranked up. She covered her bleeding stomach with her hand trying to stop the blood from gushing out, but it wasn't much of a help.

The old driver glanced at the dark road leading to the forest and looked at her, "Are you sure? This is the death forest and no one goes there," he reminded and looked down at her stomach, "You should go to the hospital for treatment instead."

Amby came out of the car without replying the old driver. It would be a waste of time trying to explain a lie to him.

"This youngsters of this generation. They don't respect life anymore."

She began to walk towards the forest, panting out loudly. The old man drove away when he realized the young lady wasn't giving him an attention.

It was dark and quiet, but she had no choice but to met her. She took in a deep breath and hobbled further breathing heavily with every step she took. Her white shirt was stained with blood, and she was losing a lot of blood, but she was determined to make it to her. Her hair was dammed with sweat and her eyes wet from tears as she got closer to the forest. She looked up and stopped. Everywhere was silent with just her heavy breathing heard.

Thirty minutes ago she got attacked again as it has always being. All her life has always being filled with being attacked by humans and vampires who think her blood is special.

Well, she knows about the vampires.

This time, she was attacked by a group of vampires who were of low ranks. Those vampires that just got turned and their thirst for blood is unquenchable.

They lose their sensed and everything human in them.

It was Amby's job to stop those vampires from trying to attack the humans as that would expose their existence. It wouldn't turn out great.

Some distance away, Ambrosia stood in the middle of the road, with her hands behind her back. Dressed in a short skin fitted red sleeveless gown and a platform pump black shoe with a hat covering her hair. She was the one Amby was going to meet.

She took in some deep breaths and walked further towards the woman waiting for her. She got to her and rested her hands on her knees trying to steady her breath and rest from the journey to the forest. After a minute, she stood up and faced the silent woman whose hazel eyes were on her.

The two of them were the replica of the other. A reflection of the other. They were two same people but two personalities. Amby was the second personality of Ambrosia and her human side. The two stared at each other silently. They were like the reflection of the other in a mirror.

They both have same hazel irises, but unlike Ambrosia, Amby has no physical ability and was just human, a normal human.

Unlike every other vampires, Ambrosia was born different. She was born to the world by two different mothers, each carrying a personality. One was her mother and the other a human mother. Amby, unlike every other humans, has lived for centuries just like Ambrosia, but she is vulnerable to death when murdered.

The vampire queen stared at her other personality without taking her eyes off. The one she hated most. The weak vulnerable human personality she has always wish to kill, but can't.

Amby stretched her bloodied hand and looked at Ambrosia, "Help me... please." she pleaded in a weak creaky voice biting her lower lip to prevent herself from screaming out loud. Ambrosia placed her hand on Amby's and immediately she did, Amby's face contorted in anguish as the stabbed area closed up quickly, leaving no trace of blood or scar as if there wasn't a stab in that area.

After a while, Amby gained back herself and stood straight, "You have always wanted to kill me but you always heal me. Thank you."

Ambrosia turned her back to leave but Amby held her hand, "You kidnapped my employer's only daughter. I will be in trouble if they find out it was you. We both have same face."

Ambrosia pulled her hand away from Amby's grip and faced her, "Now that you mentioned it, I might actually do that and make you take the fall."

Amby rolled her eyes and sighed, "Just tell me, is she still alive?" she asked.

"Not for long."

"Don't kill her and return her back to her family."

Ambrosia smirked, "You are truly my opposite. You are way too dopey than you look," she mocked and made to go back to the forest but stopped. "The witches are searching for the pure bloods.... Just get ready, we will die soon."

Amby rubbed her hand and lowered her eyes, "That is what we have always wanted. To leave this world. Finally all these would be over."

"I won't die by the hands of the pure bloods and witches like my people. I have been waiting for them to unite so I can kill them off... then we both die, as we always wanted." Ambrosia said maliciously. "These isn't over. It is just the beginning. Just keep low now. We don't want anyone finding out about you."

Amby let out a heavy sigh and lifted her eyes, "Don't worry. We have to achieve our goal first before anything else."

Ambrosia had a lot of secrets, but she knew none of them even though they were the same person. She could only felt it. Ambrosia do had dark secrets she wasn't ready to let out.

Without saying another word, Ambrosia turned and walked away, going back to the cage which had become her territory, the forest.

Amby stared at her until she vanished. She swallowed hard thinking about what Ambrosia might do to poor Isabel. If only she could go into the forest but it was off limit for her.

Ambrosia can't leave the forest while Amby can't go in. A curse they have to suffer for the rest of their boring, miserable life. With a sigh, she adjusted her glasses and left.
