Chereads / Caged With A Vampire / Chapter 14 - We both signed a deal

Chapter 14 - We both signed a deal

Ambrosia stood before a tree with her hands behind her back and her head lifted up like a little child searching for that one single riped fruit on a fruitless tree. She wore a red knee-length tight buttoned coat.

Darren wondered how many hours he spent while unconscious as it was day already and everything seemed to be different unlike the night before. Did he slept through the whole night?

The unmoving woman remained in her position not making a sound or looking away from the tree, like a statuesque. She never seemed to stop amazing him with her motionless state where not even a fly will make her flinch. How can someone stay so motionless and concentrated?

His mind went back to when she ripped off the so-called vampire head from his body. He thought of it and wondered why he had seen a vampire instead of a human when he went blood hunting for the woman. He has never seen a vampire or whatever it was before, so why did it appear all of a sudden? He shrugged the thought off immediately and looked at the woman, who eyes were still fixed on the tree.

Looking at her again, he viewed her from her back and unconsciously, his lip lifted into a lopsided way. She truly is the definition of a living temptation, or should he say a dead living temptation?

The fitted red coat tightened her body bringing out her alluring hourglass shape which he found himself admiring willingly. He never expected the woman who has a scary look at night to be different at day. He suddenly felt the urge to run his finger through her dark hair while kissing her earlobe and feeling her warm breath.

Before he could dive more into his dreamy land, he slapped himself out of it and back to reality. He has a score to settle with her and not to daydream about something that will never happen.

She is a cold woman, a cold-blooded being. Surely, everything about her and every part of her body would be cold. Her beautiful straight black hair might actually be sharper than blades and enough to cut out his fingers, so touching her hair would be like killing himself. Kissing her earlobe? What was he thinking? Not a crazy witch.

"If you keep staring at me that way, you will lose your eyes," she threatened still standing in her position and her eyes still fixed on the tree.

Darren wondered how she noticed his presence even though he did not make a sound and she did not look back. But she is the forest witch anyway, and witches know everything.

Ambrosia was getting annoyed with his stares and that forced her to talk. She felt his presence minutes ago and also his stares. She looked down finally but didn't look back at him even when he stood beside her. She had other thoughts in mind and wasn't bothered about whatever he does.

Darren mouth went opened when he saw her face. He was confused about how everything changed just hours later. The woman in front of him had a devilish look. He just couldn't find the right words to describe her demeanor that moment. She had the evil look, her face could make anyone pee on their pants because of it, but he smiled inwardly because she looked a bit younger than him. He imagined her as a little cute baby trying to act mad in front of her grown up parent. His crazy imagination made him laugh out loud hysterically, getting Ambrosia all the more annoyed. The man she made a deal with is even more crazy than she thought.

Ambrosia hazel eyes turned red and the ground where he stood shook forcing him to stop laughing and looked back at her in a serious and angry manner. He knew she was the one who created the earthquake. The moment his eyes met hers, he remembered why he came out to meet her in the first place. His sister...

"What about my sister? You took her away and I don't trust you with her. Where is she?" He asked, his smile faded and got replaced with a deep frown.

"We both signed a deal and I had my part to pay," she answered and walked into the forest. Confused about what she said, he went after her asking her about Isabel but she gave him no reply. He increased his pace and stopped her by holding her hand.

The world around him froze as he held her wrist. Their eyes met and he quickly let go of her hand. Her face was pale unlike before, her eyes bright red, and her brows were knitted. Her face was back to it angry demeanor. She wasn't looking away as her dark stare remained fixed on him.

While his hand met hers, he saw a blurry image. An image of a woman whose face wasn't clear, on the floor covered in her own pool of blood. What he had seen would be terrifying but he wasn't terrified. His throat went dry as he imagined everything that had appeared in his head. Ambrosia tightened her fist and disappeared from the forest, leaving him behind.

Darren cursed inwardly when she left and wondered why he saw that image. It seemed she saw it to and it must have been a painful memory for her. He moved his hair back and his eyes roamed about, bothered of his sister's safety.

"I will kill you if my sister is not back home." He threatened.
