Chapter 15 - A mere human touch

Ambrosia appeared in her room and looked at her wrist Darren held. The memory was something she wanted to forget. He dared brought it back? How dare he? How could he have took her to a memory lane when he touched her hand? Nothing like that has ever happened before especially when he is human.

A mere human touch can't do what his touch did to her. She always sense a supernatural presence whenever any supernatural being is close but Darren only has the presence of a human and has no power emitting from him so how could his touch do something so big to her? And to say he also saw her memory? There was something about the man in her castle.

She held her wrist and rolled her hand. Is it the new trick the witches were trying to play on her by bringing a man to try to get her?

A mischievous smirk formed on her face and her eyes went fixed staring at the forest through the window. The witches were only digging their own graves. She is the owner of the game and will play it the way she wants.

She digged her nails into her palm, allowing her blood to flow out but it dried up immediately and the wound which formed on her palm, closed up.

Darren tried going back to the castle but kept on getting back to where he started from. The forest was vast and it seemed all road he passed through, led him back to the place he started. He stomped his feet on the ground in frustration as he came back for the fifth time to the same place and cursed inwardly. This was definitely the woman's doing and he was sure of that. She disappeared and left him in the forest to find his way.

"I am a new occupant, damnit," he said out loud and moved his hand across his hair. There were other paths that he didn't pass through but he was not ready to walk for minutes and come back to where he started from. He just followed her without knowing where she was taking him to.

His eyes fell on a bushy path and his instinct told him that was the way back but he shrugged it off because he never passed through any bushy path when he went after the woman.

A voice in his head told him to go back through the bushy path, and he could swear the voice was so loud that he thought someone was behind him but there was no one. The voice sounded so clear and loud, that got him wondering if there was something wrong with him.

He looked at the bushy path and sighed out loud. Having no other choice, he decided to go through the path, even though it brings him back to where he started from, he tried his luck.

He lazily strode through the bushy path. While passing through the it, he almost ripped his cloth off in frustration. The more he went on, the more the area got bushy, not creating any way because of the bushes.

He looked back but he was far away from where he started from so going back would have been a hassle. Why was the castle so far even though he had only walked a little distance into the forest? Or did the forest witch teleport them into a deeper part of the forest? A lot of reasons for the long distance kept flowing into his head and he couldn't come up with a better reason as all sounded reasonable to him. The woman had a lot to answer from him.

He went on his journey, using his hand as an aid to clear off the bushes hindering him from passing through, but he didn't escape getting wounded by some dried thorns and all.

After walking for an insanely long distance, he made it out of the forest and was standing in front of the castle.

"Damn the little lady," he snarled and went in. The castle was empty and he felt no presence in the empty large room. Even her dark presence which was strong enough to bring fear in anyone's wasn't close by. He stood in the middle of the hall and sighed loudly.

He had a better view of the castle since it was day. The castle was so old filled with insects, mostly spiders which had made it their continent and have built nations in it. He wondered how long she has being in the castle and why she was there. He did had a lot of questions but the woman wouldn't answer him even though he ask for a million times. She is so cold.

He looked up the stairs and sighed deeply. His mind went to his parent and he remembered how she told him about making everyone forget him. Did they really forgot about him or they are worried about him and waiting? Isabel too, he doesn't know how she was doing. He felt the urge to see them immediately.

Without having a second thought, he ran out of the castle, heading towards the road he had followed the night before. He ran as fast as he could and after running for some minutes, he finally came out of the forest and was now facing the empty road.

A smile formed on his face as he thought of seeing his family again, and he almost forgot the deal he made hours ago with Ambrosia.

He stepped on the concrete road but everything happened within a second. He found himself on the ground after being pushed by an invisible wall.

The way he had fallen did cause an impact to his body as he groaned loudly. He looked up and saw no one much to his shock. Someone did pushed him but there was no visible person standing anywhere close to him or even at the forest or by the road. It was just empty.
