Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Blake went home thinking about what to write on and was discussing it with his twin sister, Samantha, who was the exact opposite of him. Samantha looked a lot like her brother with a messy short red hair and braces. Unlike her brother, Samantha's eyes were blue. She had a lot of friends and never got bullied. Her hair was always ruffled, she always wore earphones and her eyes always had bags under them.

Blake kept on going on about what write. He said "It is not nice to write about what a person dreams about at night. Maybe they do not want share it. Maybe they think that Mrs. Bailey would think it as inappropriate. So, I was thinking to write on one of dad's stories since when we were seven or so, dad used to dream at night and tell his dream as a story in the morning. What are you going to write Sam?"

"Nothing. I'm just going to fake a fever that day. I'll start laying the ground the moment I get home."

"The day it's due is our birthday. You wanna be sick on your birthday, be my guest."

"That's not such a bad idea. After the day it is due, I'll tell Mrs. Bailey how tragic it was and I'll get out of homework for a week. But you're right, I should write something. I think I'll write about a life without you."

"Very funny. Tell me what you're really going to write. If you want, I could help you."

"Uh-huh, fine. Sounds like a plan to me." Samantha said half-heartedly.

"Or maybe I'll just tell Bigfoot to tell you his most daring adventure and he'll definitely do it cause he's my best friend."

"Of course, Bigfoot would be your best friend. Wait, what?"

"Now I know you're paying attention."

"Ha-ha. Very funny. Oh look." Samantha pointed to a white moving truck in front of a lovely house with a lovely white finish, a huge garden and a red hedge all around it. Blake and Samantha's parents had had their eye on this house for a long time. They were just waiting for the current occupants, the Millers, to move out. Today that had happened. Just a few more blocks down the street and the twins would be home.

'Maybe we can ask mom and dad to buy that house for us as a birthday gift.' Blake suggested.

"I don't want my birthday gift wasted like that but, I like where you're going. If grandma is coming for our birthday, then I'll think about it."

"'I'll think about it.' That's just another way of saying, yeah, sure."

Samantha laughed. After this, the twins reached home.

The twin's mother, Ashley, was standing in front of their house with a warm smile.

Ashley Hawthorne had long red hair. She had ocean blue eyes with green fleeks. The twins had definitely got their looks from their mother. Ashley was a charity worker and all her proceeds would go to the children's hospital down the road.

She had some exciting news to share with the twins about their birthday tomorrow. She was so excited that she took two days leave from work. The moment the twins reached home she said "tomorrow Grandma is coming for the whole day and we are going out for lunch with dad!"

The twins' dad, Richard Hawthorne, was a man with beautiful hazel eyes hidden behind aviator specs. He had pale skin and dark brown hair. He was a real estate agent and was the best dad in the world for his kids.

The twins were so happy when they heard their grandma was coming to visit them tomorrow. They were practically jumping with joy. They spent the rest of their day in their rooms thinking about what to write for their essay tomorrow. They didn't come out of their rooms until their dad got takeout for dinner that night and he too said that he had taken tomorrow off for their 12th birthday.
