Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

Blake hadn't been acting himself lately. Samantha knew that something was wrong but she was sure after school when Mrs. Bailey asked the class about the Renaissance, Blake didn't know the answer. At home, the strangest thing happened when Blake said that school was the worst thing that ever happened to him.

The next day at school Blake was not his cheery self, he sat in a slouched way and put his head on the desk. Today when Mrs. Bailey asked the class, "Who can tell me about the dark ages?", Blake just rolled his eyes and murmured something that sounded like 'What kind of a person asks about the dark ages?'

The next day Samantha came into his bedroom to ask him what was going on. When she entered the room, she saw the dream journal glowing and floating mid-air. It was folded in the shape of a mouth and said in a clear and loud voice, 'Wrong answer. Try again.' She was shocked and shouted "BLAKE RICHARD HAWTHORNE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

"SAMANTHA PENELOPE HAWTHORNE! WHAT DO YOU THINK I'M DOING?!"

"Why are you shouting at me?"

"Let's see, maybe because you shouted at me!"

"I'm not gonna say sorry, what would your reaction if you saw me completely changing myself and then when you come into my room to ask what's wrong, you see a book flying in the air and talking?!"

"Fine. I'll tell you. The dream journal was glowing the night grandma gave it to us. I opened it and went to the page glowing the brightest. The page had a map drawn all over it. It said that to find where to start I had to prove myself worthy. It said that if I had to answer a question, But I kept on trying and trying but I couldn't get it. It's irritating. Very irritating" Blake replied and rolled his eyes.

"Stop rolling your eyes. What was the question anyway?"

"Tell me a dream of yours which you really want to continue but never could. Apparently, someone in our family wrote it."

"What have you tried?"

"The essay I spoke about in class."

"That's it? You changed your entire lifestyle just because you couldn't answer one question?!"

"I know it's wrong. But, in my defense, I always know all the answers. Why don't you try?"

"Fine. I'll tell my essay too. I really want to continue that dream."

"Wait a minute, let me get the book down from there. You have to write the dream down on a piece of paper and then put it on the book. Or you could just tell the book and let it shout at you."

Samantha ran to her room and got her school bag. She started searching in her bag for her essay. As she searched, she threw out many things her school had banned. She threw out perfume bottles, 5 packet of chewing gum, some heels she had borrowed from her friends, 3 cans of some energy drink and 2 empty deodorants.

Blake picked up one can and asked "You bring all this to school? You know it's banned, right?"

"Of course, I know it's banned. How do you think I have so many friends in the eighth grade? I meet them during P.E. in secret and sell to them. Ah! Here it is." Samantha had finally found her essay.

"I wonder why it took you so long to search for a such a big paper." Blake said, grinning from ear to ear.

"Tone down the sarcasm, have you got the book?"

"Here it is."

Blake held the journal open as Samantha pressed the paper on it and soon the paper got absorbed. Suddenly the book floated and turned into a door. At that moment, Ashley entered the room and looked at the door, the twins' guilty faces and then back at the door. She just froze with shock after that. The twins realized that there were in a position to do anything they wanted. At that moment, Blake opened the door and jumped in and Samantha followed him.

All they could see was light. Occasionally they would bump into each other or would hear one shout as one of the things they had thrown would bump into them. Soon the sound of a howling wind was heard by them. Samantha screamed; afraid she knew where they were. "TRY AND SWIM TOWARDS THE SOUND. WALKING IS NOT HELPING, SWIMMING MAY" Samantha shouted. The twins tried swimming towards the sound and, as Sam said, it worked. The twins fell out on ground headfirst. It took them a minute to collect themselves and saw that they had fallen into a blizzard. They shivered and stuttered as they tried to talk. They suddenly heard footsteps of some men and stood right where they were, hoping the men would help them. The moment the men came, they saw the twins shivering and stuttering. They were afraid that the twins were a trick to get them captured or killed. They seized the twins and took them to a castle, looking exactly like the castle in the dream Samantha had, she was so surprised that she pinched himself a lot afraid that the same dream was happening all over again. She was disappointed not to wake up as she did not know what these men were about to do to her and his sister.
