Blake had reached the Kingdom of the Moon, while Samantha was on her way to the Fairy Empire. She, Queen Elsa and Princess Crystal were travelling through dense woods, when the carriage suddenly stopped. They got off and saw a fairy stopping the carriage from going any further.
"What are you doing there?" Samantha asked. The fairy came towards them slowly and steadily, pulling a dagger out of one of her pockets.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" The fairy asked. She slowly started to raise her dagger at Samantha.
"I'm Queen Elsa Hydrafist, this is my daughter Crystal Hydrafist and my guest, Samantha Hawthorne. If you know what is good for you, you will put your dagger down." said Elsa, gesturing to Crystal and Samantha.
The fairy immediately put her dagger down and said, "Elsa? Is that really you? It's been long since we met each other. Do you remember me? It's Scarlet!"
Elsa immediately gave Crystal to Samantha and rushed to embrace an old friend she had not met for a long time. After having embraced Scarlet, she rushed to Samantha to introduce Scarlet to her. "This is my childhood best friend, Scarlet. She is the ex-princess of the Fairy Empire. Scarlet, this is Samantha, a new friend of mine who I'm helping to get home." said Elsa. Then she picked up Crystal and said, "Scarlet, this is my daughter, Crystal."
Samantha didn't like this long-lost best friend that Elsa 'just happened' to meet after a long time on this very day. Why couldn't Elsa have kept in touch with her? There was something mysterious about her. Besides, an 'ex' princess? What could she have done so bad that her mother disowned her? She stared at Scarlet as she took a minute to get to know her features. As she looked at her curly reddish-brown hair, her bright red tea-length dress, her dark brown wedge heels and her mischievous smile, she knew something was off about her. Why was she stopping the carriage from passing anyway?
"Um, why were you stopping the carriage?" asked Samantha.
"Well, since I'm not the princess anymore and because my mother couldn't just throw me away, she gave me the job to inspect all the carriages passing this side." told Scarlet.
"Why are you not the princess anymore?" asked Samantha.
"Samantha, that's a bit private. Asking too many questions is not good." said Elsa.
"No-no Elsa, curiosity never killed anyone, anyway, I would be surprised if she didn't ask me that. So, to answer your question Samantha, I should tell you the whole thing. My mother is very possessive about her throne and very old-fashioned about her policies. I had many new ideas, far better than the ones she was orchestrating. When mum learned of my ideas, she was afraid they might to lead to an uprising among the people. She, being possessive about the throne, disowned me." Scarlet said.
"I'm sorry." said Samantha, seeing that she had touched a very personal issue.
"I should be on my way, Scarlet, do you want to come with me? Besides, it won't be bad to see your mother again. She must have thought about what she did and regretted it a lot." Elsa said.
"It won't be bad...And mum must have regretted her decision a lot... It seems like a good deal.... Alright I'll accept to be your guide through the Fairy Empire." Scarlet said.
"Great! Hop on" said Samantha, gesturing to the carriage.
The four were on their way to the Fairy Empire.
