Their food delivery came in about half an hour and by this time Phoenix was half dead due to starvation. Laying on the hospital couch she glanced outside through the window. The scenery outside was quite beautiful with birds chirping.
" Come come, let's eat. Am dying" Phoenix took his hand as she led him to an empty seat. They sat down as she took a set of cutlery from the delivery pack. Picking up hers, she sliced the steak into tiny bits.
" Here you go, bear with it for today okay." She said as if she was coaxing a child opening a salad pack and pushed it towards him.
Jade sneered as he pushed it back. " Since you ordered that you might as well eat it. And who said I can't have meat, it is just that I should consider taking greens as well. Now share what you have sliced and don't think of tricking me cause I can sense your movements."
_'share? Anyway I will since am a kind enough.'_ sighing Phoenix gave him her pack as she took the other one.
" Here just try this one, it's kinda of...I don't know, just try it. It's nice come on".
This continued on for the rest of the meal. By the time they finished eating it was already evening and turning dark outside. Phoenix grabbed her phone as she checked the time, it was minutes after seven. She played around with her phone, pacing around the room as she constructed sentences in her mind.
" You may leave if it's getting late, Troy will be coming over later and elder brother is here too. Your mother might start to worry so you better hurry." Sensing her restlessness in her footsteps, he concluded that she wanted to leave but didn't know how to say it.
" Yeppy yep, then I will inform Troy. Give me his number and I will call him. I will leave after he arrives."
She dialled the phone number he called out to her and the call was quickly connected. She conversed with Troy and informed him about her purpose for calling before hanging up.
Though she was Jade's friend, she wasn't close to the others as she was close to him. She glanced at Jade as she came to sit beside him.
" Does it hurt? I mean do you feel any itchiness? Are you happy that in a few days from now you will be able to see again? What is the first thing you want to see? This madam will place it before your eyes, huh?" She shot him multiple questions.
Jade made a frustrated sound as he shifted on the bed. This action made Phoenix upset. In a few days his sight will be restored back to normal. He would be able to see again and maybe he wouldn't need her help anymore. Phoenix become downcast thinking about that.
They held different life perspectives so would Jade leave her all alone without anybody to call friend. Several thoughts defiled her mind making her let out a loud sigh.
Jade who just got undercover couldn't help asking her. He felt as if she was weighed down by something for a week now. He wanted to ask her but was hesitant as they were merely just friends.
" Why are you sighing, do you realise that this week alone you have sighed more than nth times and it's too much, don't you think you have to fix your problem and make that stop?" Annoyed by her continued sighs, Jade reprimanded her.
Phoenix felt even more upset hearing that. He was the sole problem. She wondered if he would break free from this ship when he regains his old life back but she was scared to ask him. She didn't want to sound insecure and paranoid. She had a few friends when she was young and they would treat each other like family. Well that was what she thought until two years ago when they all presented their backs to her. Since then she had been alone and no one wanted to be her friend until he came into her life like an enchanter.
She fell under his spell and as time went on, she realised how she enjoyed his company though sometimes he would be moody.
