Getting into her car and locking the doors, Phoenix let herself loose. She bawled her eyes out as the old memories that had always haunted her came flooding her mind. She clenched her chest as a suffocating feeling envoloped her whole being.
She cried for God knows how long and by the time she checked the time it was already late night. She patted her face, buckling her seat belt. Starting the engine, the car slowly drove away form the hospital premises.
## Inside one of the hospital wards. ##
Peter pushed the door open entering into the ward. He placed the plastic bag that he held on his right hand on top of the side table and walked towards the bed.
" How are you feeling. Do you feel any pain?"
The lady on the bed smiled as he pecked her lips. " Nah, I don't feel any after seeing you. Mother gave me the traditional medicines and I feel much better." Tracy answered back as she caressed her bulging belly.
" That's good. Now let's feed the baby before she starts crying of hunger. And by the way I met Phoenix when I came in."
Tracy halted her action of sitting up on the bed after hearing that. Looking over at Peter, she had an indescribable expression on her face.
Walking over to her, Peter took her into his embrace at the same time patting her back. " You don't have to worry about the past. She will be fine and you are not the reason why our marriage didn't work out. I feel sorry for wasting her time and the treatment she received from my family. She wanted the love that I didn't have for her."
" But Peter do you think she will ever forgive you. I mean I feel bad for whatever happened to her. I will be honest with you, Phoenix is a good girl but you turned her into a lonely Island. I wish she could find someone who loves her back as she does."
The couple engaged in their conversation as they had their late night dinner.
A couple of days went by and it was sunny as usual. The shop was flocked today as there was an event happening in a few days and Phoenix was tied up with work as she spent most of the day locked up inside her office.
'Jolly Joy' Spa was bustling with sounds of chattering and laughter. The smell of sweet fragrances permeated the air making the guests more relaxed.
' Never give up' by Sia was playing in one of the rooms. The lady with a high ponytail was busy jotting down something on the white piece of sheet.
The first time Phoenix heard the song it was about a year ago and she fell in love with it. It was a remedy and acted as a powerful pill to calm her and encourage her every day. This kept her fighting and to never give up making it to where she was today.
Standing up Phoenix danced and sang to the beautiful tune. She jumped around as she continued singing to the song.
' And I won't let you get me down
I'll keep gettin' up when I hit the groun
Oh, I never give up, no, I never give up no, no, o'
Picking up the water bottle on top of the table, she continued singing. She went and up as she mimicked various dance styles. She felt the nostalgic vibe as she sang at the top of her lungs, lucky enough her small office was soundproof.
She swayed her waist as she sang in a soft voice. Not withstanding the wonderful feeling, she drummed the table top as she circled it.
' I'll find my way, find my way home, oh, oh, o
I'll find my way, find my way home, oh, oh, o',
She jumped and danced as if she intoxicated.
_' Sia never stops to amazes me.'_
## Outside of her office. ##
A few customers had left leaving the area sparsely populated. The busy workers finally got a chance to relax a little. Some even gave each other massages.
Lily joked around with the other assistants as she took a sip of her iced tea. "Hey, Timmy do you think boss is going through a break up?"
Timmy who was massaging her shoulders, slowed down as he lowered his eyes eyeing the side of her face. He frowned as he wondered why she would ask that.
" Why would you say that, to me she appears quite normal." Timmy voiced out his opinion.
The other young man sitting next to them, Bellow chimed in before Lily could provide her answer. " I too think she is behaving strangely these days. She comes early and goes home late which is quite new. Did you even notice that she goes to parties more often than before, making sure that she is even dead drunk?"
The others nodded agreeing with what he said with an exception of Timmy.
" Don't you think partying should be more often, after all she barely hanged out before so she has to relaxe once in a while. And of course she has to work hard otherwise how will she survive in the business. You think too much, you could hold world championships records for that." He said as he gave them a look of disgust.
He went on to give Lily a massage as the others went on with the gossip. Out of the blue, Emma the other assistant said, " Nah, you are all wrong, she doesn't seem heartbroken. She appears as if she was dumped."
This evoked laughter among the other assistants. Everyone eyed her with pity.
" Isn't that the same thing Em?" Bellow asked her.
Emma was always the odd one out. She said whatever came to her mind and they considered her their younger sister.
