The five men lay bleeding, Rex was too furious before but soon gained back his composure, his clothes were stained with blood.
' Am I making a mistake? These people deserve to die.'
[ Yes they deserve to die, you are not making a mistake. This is the reason why I gave the quest with no penalty, you can kill them if you want.]
' If I want. You are more devious than me, I thought you were some kind of angel who had given me a chance to second life and was hoping to make a good person out of me.'
[ We don't need you to become a good person. However, it is even less favourable if you become a monster.]
' Does killing them makes me a monster?'
[ Yes because you killed them on instinct. If anything threatens you or things around you, you move to kill them, you are scared of an event like your previous death. You are regretting that you didn't kill your boss which is the reason you died later.]
' Yes, that is certainly the case, I was scared, they would do something even if they were weak, they threatened to kill my mother... I mean Alvis' mother.'

He sighed as he took out healing pills, there were four. It was precious medicine that is worth gold coins each. He didn't know whether it would be the right thing to do or not but he just doesn't want to be called a monster, the healing pills stopped the bleeding.
Soon Lucia came out of the house, she saw that her son was covered in blood. She came out and grabbed Rex's hand and brought him inside the house and directly took him to the bath, and washed him.
" Are you alright son?" She asked gently. " I am sorry, it's because of mother you had to fight."
" How is this your fault? I am sorry if I made you even feel that way." He said.
" These people were from the Red salamander mercenary group. You know a big event happened when you were gone, they broke everything in our house once because I offended them once–"
" What?" The anger which was gone suddenly burst again, now he was sure that he did the wrong thing by letting them live.
Lucia felt this and grabbed her son tightly, she slowly patted his head to calm him.
" Did they do something to you?" He was scared to even ask.
" No, the baron and his knight protected us, the baroness Lilly was an old friend of mine. Alle helped me and your sister to run away before they came to attack our home. The knights protected us and even took action against some of them, however, now they have too much influence in the city. Now, even the baron can not protect us. They will come back with more people, you will not be able to fight them all."
" I will take care of them."
" No, what I am trying to say is, let's go live somewhere else. We can–"
" We don't have to, mother. I will make them pay." For some reason, Lucia felt scared of her son. It was the first time she didn't feel worried about his life but about him becoming something akin to a monster.
" I will take care of them, you don't have to worry."
Lucia fell asleep, in the bakery that didn't open today. Soon the people of the town came out of their houses to see what happened yesterday, the crowd gathered as they severed limbs, a dead body and four unconscious men barely hanging to their lives.
" I will go kill their leader and end this mercenary group. You stay here with your mother." He instructed Alle, Some guards also came last night. They were Alle's friends, last night because they were patrolling other areas they could not come to help.
They were shocked to hear this but they could not say anything under the pressure of Rex's killing intent which made them obey his every command. Alle was dumbfounded to find out what happened and was a little scared of the young man.
He got out of the house and saw the crowd gathered, they were scared because of what they saw last night. They didn't want to offend him so they backed away, Rex splashed water on the unconscious members and woke them up.
" Where is your leader?" He asked, making them shiver, the men did not understand and so did the crowd of people.
" Why?"
" I am going to kill him." He said bluntly, making everyone's face turn pale. Red salamander is a big guild, to declare so openly that he would kill the leader was courting death but Rex looked like a god of death in the eyes of everyone.
" He is in the guild." The man said fearing for his life. The next second Rex snapped the neck of the man.
" Uwaaah!" The other man cried in horror. They had thought their life was spared but now they were regretting the fact that they didn't crawl away last night. He moved to the other one they begged but no mercy was shown, one by one all of them were killed.
Some people in the crowd felt weak in their knees while some were grabbing their heads, some shouted in horror as they saw people dying one by one. The reason why Rex killed these people was because of something Rex was told by the voice.
Last night he gave Rex an Ability to see a person's soul, he could see a smoke covering each person when he used this ability. The darker the smoke the more evil things that person had done. When he got out of the house he saw the corpse of the man he killed last night, his aura was completely black. The voice had told him to kill such people without any chance, then there were those four people who also had an almost black smoke covering them so that meant, there is no problem with killing them.
This ability can do much more but for now, he was using it to decide who to kill in the mercenary groups and who he should spare. He didn't mind becoming a monster against the people who threatened his family.
