Chapter 10 - I help a Vampire

YOU WOULD THINK NOW THAT I GOT A PHEONIX LIFE IS STABLE WELL…it's not.

After my fight with the minotaur, I promised not to ever mention it ever again. It was like it never happened, Atreigon was the only thing remaining to remind me that I wasn't dreaming. It all had happened in real life, this was all happening in real life.

But there was one big problem. I had two days to go hence I had Forty-eight hours before Celeste exposes me to the other progenitors and on top of that I had midterm exams next week so I had to study. For real this time.

The moment of my parents being around only lasted for a day before they left, the only thing that they had put up was a video chat with the both of us every after six hours, it was pretty cute seeing them try parenting like this. But let's face it there was more going on and they weren't going to tell anyone. Not even me, the victim of all this madness.

Atreigon was the only one who could give me a little info about all this because he was a thousand-year-old bird that has served the greatest mages in the world of magic. He told me of what it looked like down there and that the main city was known as Tlavacus, where the progenitors stayed. He told me that the progenitors were the most powerful royal blood successors representing the supernatural races; the fey, the vampires, the wolves, the demons, and the witches whose description almost resembled humans. And here was the big reveal, all the current progenitors were women and I was the first male progenitor ever since the elves. Atreigon's last master was a demon lord from a different time. Atreigon ran away from him after dying and appearing in Pretoria, with so many abilities. One could see he had been reborn.

He doesn't say much after that.

The following day, Nancy and Ned were not at school. Neither was miss Eloise. They made me wonder if this was connected to the Pretoria incident.

"Ralph Tally!" My Alchemy teacher called me, and I returned to earth with a start. The entire class was looking at me like had just done something very wrong.

"Well?" he demanded with his blue eyes beaming through his round wire-framed glasses.

"Well…what?"

"Your hand was up, Tally. I thought you knew the answer,"

After he said that I scanned the board and I was able to put it all together, "The Theory behind Magical alchemy is that it's a geometrical interface that allows humans to access the source," he answered.

"Correct," my teacher said with a proud smile and then went back to teaching as I went back to my overthinking, his voice later started to sound inaudible as I slipped my mind to anywhere else but here.

It was just after a couple of minutes when the bell rang and was now time for lunch.

Has it been that long, I thought, seems I have been losing track of time.

I moved out of class, and that's when I saw someone who was so familiar, the silver colored hair, the child size, and the bright blood red eyes…it was Celeste standing in front of me in the same school uniform as I.

There was a grin on her face while she glanced at me with a devious stare, her arms were crossed pressing on her chest.

"Missed me?" she sneered,

I didn't know what to say, I couldn't make a scene and run because after what Atreigon said, progenitors are the most powerful of their race. Outrunning a vampire wouldn't go well at all.

"You said I had three days…" I mumbled

'Yes I did, and it's still like that. I am here because I need your help,"

I was surprised and relieved after hearing that, "My help?…for what?"

"Of recent many supernatural have been sneaking into this world and three of them are my kind. We are going to find them," she was distinct and so straightforward. If I refused to help her I would be dead by dawn, that was another way to put it down.

I spluttered, "B-But I have class,"

"I don't care," she grabbed my arm and then teleported us to the middle of an empty street in an abandoned town somewhere across the world. The place was cold and gloomy and gave off the haunted town feeling from all directions. But the strongest was coming from the huge wooden flat we had just appeared in front of, it was surrounded by a fence made of barbed wire, that could have been electric ten years ago. The sky was gray, and the air was heavy and thick.

"Where are we?" I asked Celeste who was staring at the creepy house with terror.

"We are in North America, Salem, the birthplace of evil" she growled after saying, "My vampires have to be inside there looking for human blood,"

"But no one lives in Salem anymore, after the-"

"To supernaturals, Salem is a historical place for my kind, witches and werewolves," she said. "This is where we fought the great evil men had created by serving blood to the dark realm. So this place still draws my kind."

I knew about the dark realm, it was a dimension that was confirmed to be next to ours. A place where unimaginable monsters and creatures resided. We studied about it in dark arts before the topic was declared forbidden.

Celeste ripped the fence from the ground using her mind, then she moved forward to the front yard.

A very evil aura surrounded the entire place, it was so evil it gave me an uneasy stomach.

Celeste grabbed my arm and we were already past the door, and now inside the house. The floor was wooden with holes smashed in it. In front was a staircase with missing steps. The curtains were torn and the place looked centuries old.

"House of madness," Celeste called out. " Reveal yourself to me," she slammed her palm on the ground then a red magic circle formed and the house started to shake like it was going through an earthquake. I grabbed onto the cupboard that was close to me while looking for support as watched the chairs fall and break instantly, and more parts of the house also came down crashing from the first floor.

_IT ALL STOPPED ABRUPTLY…

May I help you, Celeste, said an old man who appeared out of nowhere.  He was in chains and his eyes spelled only misery.

"Hello, Mr. Evil," she said. "I am looking for my followers and I think you have an idea of where might they be."

"And why would I help you," he screeched and his face changed into something more terrifying, he had a pair of long black horns popping out of his forehead, a muscular body of around three rugby players combined and he was about seven feet taller than the both of us, he had a black body that looked like it made from stone.

Because you are a fellow vampire despite coming from a different dimension," she answered calmly,

The beast smiled and showed its pair of fangs, "Fellow vampire my ass," he cursed then attacked me, I put up a magical shield but it didn't even reach when Celeste grabbed its restraints and pulled back with one hand and slammed it through the wall.

I guess you chose the hard way," she said with her words full of anger. "My father may have gone easy on you. But I promise you, am not my father." her eyes even glowed brighter and a circle formed around the monster. She walked through the wreckage then looked at it with a murderous stare,

"Please…I know where they are," it begged.

"Where?"

"I sent them to get me a new human," it rushed to answer, "a young powerful one."

Hearing that only reminded me of one person, Ronnie. She was in trouble if that was the description.

"I need to go, I think they are after my sister…" I told Celeste, she grabbed my hand and we appeared just outside my house. And the car that takes her home from school was just parked outside.

Ronnie, I shouted then ran into the house and the first thing I saw were teenage boys about my age standing with her, she was crying.

One of the boys had blue hair and he was the one who lunged at me with his claws. I grabbed both his hands then intentionally bumped my head into his, it felt like hitting a wall, because he didn't even stagger at all. He rather pulled away from my hold and dug his claws into my stomach.

Celeste appeared and she snapped the boy's neck instantly without touching him and his lifeless body clamped down on the floor and vanished. The other boy holding my sister let her go after seeing Celeste in front of him and was about to run, but he instantly exploded into nothing more than dust the moment he went through the back door. Celeste had killed him instantly.

She delayed for a few seconds like she was trying to listen for something.

I remembered she said they were three vampires.

Where was the third?
