Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Erisia

Rowan woke up to the smell of deer meat. Getting up, he walked out of the room to see the Liam putting food on the table, enough for two. The meat was roasted this time, with some wild berries and greens off to the side. It appears that Liam had awoken earlier, and went to wash the dishes.

Again, the two ate in silence, and the food was just as good as yesterday. He could hear the birds chirping outside, the sun shining down, and the lush greenery through the window.

Grabbing the dishes, he made his way outside, and towards the lake in the distance. Rowan immediately inquired about the books upon his return, the dishes were now clean. Rowan also looked at himself, he was still covered in his rags and smothered in dirt and grime. He threw off his rags and jumped into the cold water.

Walking back into the house, all clean now, Rowan immediately asked what was on his mind.

"Can I take a look at the books on that bookshelf? he asked, looking towards the shelf full of books.

"Help yourself, and I have extra wool clothing in your room in the closet." Liam said, he didn't seem to mind. Rowan noticed that Liam didn't like to speak, unless he felt it necessary.

Thanking him, Rowan went to change into the simple wool clothing, first grabbing a book titled "Erisia," which detailed the geography of the continent he was on, it was called Erisia. The continent was absolutely massive, surrounded by a large body of water, and two other continents quite a distance from this one. There were little two no details about the other two in the book, only their general locations on the map.

He picked up another book, and started skimming briefly, this book showed the rankings among the nobility. From lowest ranked on the left to the highest ranked on the right, it looked like: Lord, Baron, Viscount, Count, Marquis, Prince, Duke, King, and Emperor. He wondered how the new powers everyone obtained will change that. He put the book down and picked up another, and started skimming.

2 hours later..

Rowan obtained the information he was lacking in, at least for the most part. The city he started in that was governed by Lord Farwuad was called Duloc. The nearest city was Minitrysa, where Rowan decided to head to. He decided to leave now, he wanted to get there as soon as possible.

"I'm going to Minitrysa, thank you for your hospitality." Rowan knew he didn't need to get flowery or anything, something simple like this would do. He wasn't good with his words anyways. In the time that Rowan got to know Liam, he knew that Liam had a laidback and straight-to-the point personality. After saying his goodbyes, he saw Liam come out of the kitchen with a bag, it was full of dried meat. He also handed him some more clothes, there was a mix of clothing made of pelt and cotton.

Liam simply nodded at Rowan, as he saw him off. He wasn't a man of many words.

It was well into the afternoon by now, and Rowan didn't want to waste any time, so he headed directly North towards Minitrysa. He would have to set camp at night, and keep going tomorrow.

An hour in on the journey, and Rowan suddenly saw something out of the corner of his eyes, a glint.

Swoosh

The glint of an arrowhead, and the attackers were the goblins again. There were at least 5 of them.

Rowan would finally get a chance to test his Hot Chocolate skill, conjuring it, he blocked the arrow and willed it forward engulfing the nearest goblin. The shrill, muffled cries of the creature followed shortly after, and died down quickly.

[90/95]

Another with bloodshot rushed up with a knife, yelling out, Rowan couldn't understand what it was saying, but he knew it's intent. He thought these things would run as soon as things looked bad, but they didn't act like the typical goblins he knew of at all. They looked willing to fight to the death

Swoosh

Pshhh

Another arrow came by, blocked by Rowan's Hot Chocolate skill again. Seeing that the arrows weren't working, the goblin drew a dagger and ran at him. The other two tried to surround him, but were meant with a blanket of molten chocolate, the two died together. Seeing that, the last goblin, now within striking distance pulled back its arm with the dagger in hand, about to slash down heavily.

Unfortunately, by now, Rowan had brought back the mass of molten chocolate, covering his fist with it. He punched through the creature's chest, and it looked at the first going through it in disbelief. It appeared to have tried to say something, but only the sound of gurgling could be heard, it spat out blood shortly after and went limp, it was dead.

The poor creatures just kept rushing up, only to get killed, Rowan thought. Rowan recalled that they gave 25% experience each, and checked his status.

He put 3 points into strength and 2 into constitution, he didn't really spend much mana and he didn't need dexterity. Though, he would think about adding points into intellect later on regardless, in case he ever needed it.

Now, Rowan would need to find a place to set up camp for the night, he didn't want to get attacked randomly while sleeping.

"Actually..." Rowan had an idea, he looked up at a tree, and climbed up, looking for the thicker branches. He activated the Taffy Ball skill, and stretched it out, like a hammock, from branch to branch. The color was brown with a mix of red, and the smell of cinnamon lingered in the air, By now, his manipulation of the melting point was such, that body heat wouldn't cause it to melt or anything like that. He could even leave it out in the sun for the day, and nothing would happen. Furthermore, he found that though it was sticky for others, he could make it so it wasn't like that on himself.

After doing so, he laid down on his hammock, and covered the top as well, only leaving some holes for air. As the taffy wasn't melty or warm, his clothes didn't stick as much as it would have, he can simply just manipulate everything to come off. He closed his eyes, thinking about what he would do at Minitrysa.
