Hailey Winston
In my last period, I'm so restless. Knowing that in about twenty minutes Hayden will be picking me up has my brain, stomach and probably my whole being so excited.
Opening another packet of Juicy Fruit chewing gum, I spit the tasteless one in a wipe and decide to go and throw it.
"Hailey Winston, where are you going?" The physics teacher asks as soon as I stand up.
"I'm going to pick my homework book from my locker." I reply with a humble face.
Teachers can't resist me, I've never been one to disobey, miss classes, fail tests or talk back at them.
So just a small lie like that had me going out without the teacher's interruption.
I need to keep my lies in check.
When I step in the hallway to throw my gum, I expect to find it empty since classes haven't ended yet.
But in this school, nothing always goes as expected and so I'm not surprised when I see Camila Reyes aka the head queen entering the storage room with a guy.
Curiosity takes another peek at me and as much as I want to resist, my soul isn't willing. So I head to the storage room but unfortunately the door is locked from the inside.
Bummer!
As I turn to leave, I realize the window has a small crack. It doesn't normally happen in Crescent High because we have rich investors like Camila's father. But right now, the crack isn't my business but rather my ticket to eavesdropping on what Camila could be talking about with the guy.
When I look inside, my eyes widen and I fear I may have gasped loudly so I cover my mouth.
Camila Reyes is making out with some school jock, I think he's Lucas, or Luka or whatever. I know he is Colonel, the given name isn't clear to me.
"Colonel, will you now do it? I've given you the kiss you wanted." Camila says with a sickeningly sweet voice.
Ha. She got you Colonel.
"Sure. So what's the plan?" Colonel asks as he tries to touch Camila's ass but she shoves him away.
"Tomorrow is Crescent Tuesday at Club Q and I think he will be there. Will you do it?" Camila asks hopefully.
"We got a deal Camila Reyes." Colonel says as he extends his hand to Camila for a handshake.
"Great. Keep your mouth zipped Lucas Colonel or there will be consequences."
Oh so his name is Lucas Colonel?
When I hear Camila's heels making their way to the door of the store room, I turn on my heels and run. The last thing I want is for me to be in the bad books of the head queen.
However all good things never last, I trip and fall at the end of the hall way. I quickly stand up hoping nobody saw my embarrassed ass but a very loud chuckle stops me in my tracks.
Kill me now!
"When did I last see someone falling? This is so hilarious!"
Ofcourse it has to be Decker Swift, he has nothing to do but watch me fall.
But he probably won't remember me tomorrow, so I turn again and leave without saying anything.
"Nice to meet you again Ms Clumsy-" I hear as I exit the hallway.
I re-enter my class, pack up my stuff and my phone rings just then. I guess Hayden is here afterall.
I quickly text my friends to come over in the evening and tell them I got a ride with Hayden. I then exit school almost racing.
Hayden has that effect on me for sure.
When I exit the gates skipping like a little girl, I see Hayden leaning against our father's company car. I forgot to mention Hayden has no car either.
He's talking on phone and the moment he sees me, he mumbles something on phone and hangs up.
He smiles so widely and opens his arms and I run straight into the best hug I will ever get.
"Hails, I missed you." He says as we still hug.
"How could you not? I'm your best sister afterall!" I joke.
He immediately lets me go and looks at me like I have the word idiot on my face.
"What?" I ask him.
"Both of us know that's Hanova's spot. You'll never be like her!" He says.
"Not if I can make pouty faces like her, or do adorable stuff like her. Afterall she looks like me!" I joke again.
People normally say Hanova has my hair while the eyes, nose, beauty are all Hayden's. I guess the dork wins.
"You! Hanova looks like me! She doesn't look silly like you do!"
We continue bickering a little bit and then Hayden drives us home after we pass by the store and buy some icecream, candy and Skittles for Hanova and I.
When I reach home, I let Hanova and Hayden have their fun while I complete all my homework and then text my friends to come and see Hayden.
My mother is cooking dinner while my father is in the backyard sorting out mum's flowers.
Such a boring family!
I leave my bedroom and go to start food fight with my siblings but the doorbell gets my attention. Surely my friends can't be that fast, can they?
When I open the door however, Tamika is there. Tamika's home is farthest from mine so how she got here first still remains questionable.
I let her in without questions.
As we start playing cards, the doorbell rings again and this time Kai is there.
Maya's home is closest to mine so how she gets here an hour later than the rest is questionable as well.
I question none of them, I let them talk to Hayden, and him pretending to be a good listener and all. I stay there just to make sure he doesn't rat me out to my friends.
They can't know what I was doing last month, not yet.
How long can I keep this from them?
