Hailey Winston
Wednesday
"Go home" my conscience tells me.
No I won't.
Why are you staying? You have nothing on you!
I'm keeping my attendance record clean.
Do you even need that for you to graduate?
Shut up conscience, I'm trying to pay attention.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I quickly put my hands over my ears because it seems like my conscience can actually scream.
My imagination is so wild sometimes, now I'm hearing voices arguing in my head if I should stay here or go home.
But both seem impossible. I can't stay in school because my books, my lunch, my phone, my chewing gum were all locked in the Cyber room.
I can't go home either, I have no transport fare on me, I can't call Hayden because I never master numbers in my head, and the bus comes at 3pm.
If only I hadn't fought with Mika! I know my friends would help me call Hayden or lend me transport fare but dang it!
That's how I find myself on the stairs that head to the Cyber room.
I'm seated there all alone.
In normal circumstances, I'd be here enjoying school WiFi but right now, I'm escaping my weird reality.
Why the hell did I fight with Mik-
"We meet again!" A voice says from behind me.
Of course these are stairs, and it's the last floor.
Where has he passed to reach where I am?
Turning, I'm met with the colorful Offlimits boy, Elvis Cyan.
Apart from rumors that say he's a make-up artist, others say he's a good prankster.
I doubt if that's true, I mean the Offlimits boys aren't even social!
"Do I know you?" I ask him as if I'm clueless.
I was being serious when I said Offlimits boys are off-limits.
I don't want people thinking I'm one of those girls that chase them like houseflies.
"I know you." He says simply as he sits next to me.
Say what?
"Of course you do, I mean after hanging out in your lair." I say hoping that's what he was going to say.
"That, and other times. I've known you longer than that. Hailey Winston is it?"
Longer than that? But how?
"I have my ways, but don't worry I'm not stalker." He says raising his hands in surrender.
So I said it out loud?
You can't blame me though, it's not everyday that an Offlimits boy calls you by name.
"Okay I get it, but why are you sitting here?" I ask suspiciously.
Deck created that effect on me, suspecting people.
Oh come on, where did Deck come from now?
"It's only fair I hide in your lair, last time you hid in ours." He whispers and I swear our bodies are touching.
Phew! This one doesn't burn me.
He has no super powers, like Deck.
Just as he leans away, I remember to smell his cologne.
I don't have very many males in my life, it's just dad, Hayden, Kai and Micheal the bus driver if he counts.
But I'm perfectly sure his cologne smells so familiar that I keep sniffing noises.
"Ewwww you're weird. " He says looking at me with a horrified expression.
"Why would you even sniff at me like that?" He asks still looking confused.
"Because your Cologne is too familiar, I think someone I know has the same one."
When the statement falls from my mouth, Cyan's face falls and if I'm assuming correctly, it pales as well.
"I'm an Offlimits boy, how can I share cologne with anyone?" He asks as if offended.
"I didn't say you shared, the person may be has the same cologne as yours. Chill."
He sighs and stands up.
Yay, he's leaving finally!
"See you around weirdo"
Weirdo?
What's with these boys nicknaming me? First Ms Clumsy, and now Weirdo?
Shooo you evil.
When he finally leaves, I can't get the smell of the cologne from my head. Even then, I still settle for him having the same cologne as someone I know.
The bell for end of lunch rings and I have two periods to go. Even though I have nothing on me, I decide to go to class.
Who knows, for the first time I can become a fast learner!
But that doesn't happen, at all.
Instead, our history teacher decides to give a test about the stuff we studied the previous lesson.
French Revolution.
Fuck French Revolution, I live in Montana for crying out loud
And honestly, I have nothing to write. I stare at the wall clock, I don't even write my name on the test and when the clock strikes 3pm, I run out of class.
For what?
For the bus, I know Micheal can take me home, with or without the fare.
I don't even get to leave the class, I collide with someone on the doorway.
Their cologne smells like Cyan's.
For a moment, I wonder why Cyan would be in this class. He takes government instead of History.
I'm not a stalker, he's popular so everyone is bound to know which subjects he does.
I'm quick to step away, hoping nobody saw me bumping into an Offlimits boy.
However to my surprise, the person standing in front of me isn't Elvis Cyan.
He even looks nothing like him.
And I know the person.
Because he's my best friend.
Kai.
With cologne like Cyan's.
Nothing rings a bell, I mean it's perfectly okay for two dudes to have the same cologne, isn't it?
"I've been looking for you, Mitch's is giving free cakes when you buy a drink today." He says smiling at me.
Say what now? Isn't he supposed to be mad at me?
Along with Mika?
"Really? When are you going?" I ask hoping he'll change his mind and realize he's mad at me.
"Mika is giving us a ride right now, come on!"
He pulls my hand, he doesn't hear my protests of me telling him to slow down.
Mika is mad at me, Maya may be too. Why in the world would they want to ride with me right now?
"Finally, I get to see you. Where have you been hiding? Did you build a cave in school? We looked for you everywhere even in the Cyber room but you were nowhere!" Mika rants on.
Kai was in the Cyber room, Cyan came from the Cyber room when he came to the stairs.
Kai and Cyan have the same cologne.
What does this even mean?
