Hailey Winston
Wednesday
My friend knows a friend who knows a friend of someone that knows which website to go to when you feel confused.
My head feels like a busy street, the thoughts crossing each other like the traffic at lunch hour.
Starting from my friends acting weird, to Camila planning something against Decker, to Decker literally bugging me to stay with him last night to my friends acting weird again.
This morning, because of the numerous thoughts in my head I guess, I woke up really earlier than usual. It also could be because I didn't do my homework yesterday and I was hurrying to do it.
Believe me or not but I reached school before 6am and here I am in the school grounds literally alone.
Instead of going to my homeroom class, I go to the Cyber room.
1) I like studying with animations
2) half of the school doesn't know it exists
3) it's the farthest from the main gate so I can sleep comfortably and a soul wouldn't know.
When I reach the Cyber room, I open quietly and tiptoe inside. There's a desktop computer, a projector and two remotes.
I don't know much about computing, but I can at least connect a desktop to a projector. It doesn't take rocket science for sure.
After connecting the two, I log in using the student ID and I'm not even surprised the system has saved my login details.
I'm like the only person in senior year that visits the Cyber room like it's a dining room.
I don't know what happens next but I know my phone rings multiple times until I gain my consciousness. I must have slept off because my phone shows I have missed the first two periods and I have so many messages, some from my friends asking if I'm ditching school, and some asking if I'm sick.
Since I care about my phone bill, I don't reply. I mean I'm in the same school as they are, so why reply when I can just go see them?
I turn off the Cyber lesson and shut down the whole system and close the door as it's supposed to be.
I head for my locker to pick my textbook for Organic Chemistry
When I enter the hallway, it's really quiet until I hear some giggles. It's no new thing though, couples do these things in hallways all the time.
The only difference is I always want to know which couple it is.
Anyone would, okay? It's human nature!
I walk in the direction of the giggles but my mission is cut short when something or rather someone I didn't expect calls me from behind.
"Ms Clumsy!"
Of course it has to be him. Always getting in my way.
"What do you want?" I snap.
Why can't he see it? I'm in the middle of a big investigation!
"You don't have to be rude all the time, I gave you a ride home last night!" He says proudly.
I could have ignored him and walked away, but lucky for him, students flooded the hallway and had heard him saying he gave me a ride.
You see, I already told you it's rare for the Offlimits boys to befriend girls and moreso give them rides home .
So the gasps that follow Decker's statement are no surprise to me.
On one hand, I think it's a coincidence that students heard him saying it, he didn't mean for others to hear it.
On the other hand, I think he did it on purpose.
I wouldn't know why he would say it on purpose for the whole student community to know, but who knows? Decker Swift is so full of surprises!
Meanwhile, a very large crowd had gathered around Decker and I, and Decker is holding my hand to stop me from leaving.
If you've watched them Bollywood movies, you know what I'm talking about.
It looks all romantic yet all I have in my head is confusion.
It seems like Decker knows something I don't, he's either distracting me from it or he just doesn't want me to know it.
Either way, he's playing with a super detective.
When his hold finally becomes a little loose, I remove my hand very first.
One reason being I don't want people misunderstanding the situation and the other being he has super powers, he burns me whenever he touches me.
"Hails, what the hell is happening?" Tamika shouts at me as she emerges from the crowd
"I don't know, do you see anything happening?" I reply cluelessly.
"Well something is happening when you and this guy here were holding hands and he claims to have given you a ride last night!"
I shouldn't have gone to that party! Why did I ignore my instincts?
"He found me on the road and gave me a ride, big deal?"
"You, on the road? You never even walk at night!" She exclaims.
"You never attend Crescent Tuesday, but you did last night. There's a first time for everything!" I snap.
"Well if you decide to tell us the truth, we'll be waiting" she storms off.
Did I have my first fight with Tamika?
And over Decker?
So much for not bringing attention on myself!
I leave the "crime" scene and head for Chemistry, but I don't even focus.
I hear about Alcohols which I don't know we study about, I hear mechanisms, I hear synthesis but I don't listen.
I'm too distracted over my fight with Tamika.
When will this end?
